Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 466: Chapter 465: Maxwell Peary, I want to challenge you alone

When Nia Mitchell heard the CEO’s voice coming from outside the door, she immediately pricked up her ears to listen carefully.

Outside, Maxwell Peary, with a sullen face, hesitated for a moment before dialing Owen Lewis.

At MC Group, Hendrik Lewis was working overtime miserably. Not only had his wife vanished, but Alan Morgan had also dumped tons of work on him. It was enough to reduce him to tears!

Suddenly, Owen Lewis’s phone rang, and he instantly picked it up.

”Hello?”

”Lewis.”

”Yes.”

It was the boss, calling him so late. It must be something critical.

”How many times have you and Annie Davidson done it since you’ve been married?”

”PFFT...”

Owen Lewis spat out his coffee, which splashed all over the files in front of him.

There must be something wrong with my ears.

He asked again cautiously, ”Boss, what did you say?”

”I said, how many times have you and Annie done it since you’ve been married!”

Maxwell Peary was apparently getting impatient. He was on the verge of a breakdown, highly irritable.

”Uh... a lot... many times, I guess.”

How am I supposed to answer this? Do I really have to rack my brains here, reminiscing and counting each instance?

”Does Annie still hurt?”

Maxwell Peary finally got to the point.

Such an awkward topic left Owen feeling a bit unwell. Doesn’t the boss feel embarrassed asking such a question so seriously? Doesn’t he feel there’s something wrong with it?

”No.”

Although he was reluctant, Owen still answered honestly. How could I let my wife be in pain? I’d only make her... feel good. Sadly, my wife is nowhere to be found.

Maxwell Peary furrowed his brows again, standing there brooding for a long time.

Silence descended. Owen suspected he had hung up.

”Boss?” he called out tentatively.

”HMM.”

Maxwell Peary grunted in response, his face as dark as a stern judge’s.

”Could it be that you’re too small?”

Maxwell Peary could only think of this one possibility.

Owen Lewis: !!!!!!

Damn it, Maxwell Peary! I respect you as my boss. I honestly answered such an embarrassing question! What do you mean by doubting me like this? I challenge you to a duel! Maxwell Peary, come out! I want to duel you! I’m not small! ARGH!

Owen Lewis couldn’t believe he hadn’t smashed his phone and had actually answered the question. This is surreal! The boss has changed! And I’m becoming more and more pathetic! I don’t even have the courage to challenge Maxwell Peary to a duel. Most importantly, I’ve lost my wife.

The more he thought about it, the more tragic his life seemed. Looking at the coffee-stained documents before him, Owen felt his heart shatter.

”OH.”

Maxwell Peary responded, then hung up. He opened the door of the Master Bedroom, preparing to go in, and saw Nia Mitchell standing there, her face fraught with panic.

Seeing him, Nia Mitchell immediately put up her guard and hurriedly stepped back a few paces.

”I... I didn’t hear anything.”

Maxwell’s gaze unnerved her. Nia Mitchell quickly waved her hands, her expression panicked.

Maxwell Peary didn’t speak, just continued to watch her.

”I... I didn’t mean to eavesdrop.”

Nia Mitchell was on the brink of tears, her face falling.

Maxwell Peary’s expression remained terrifyingly grim as he stood there, staring at her.

Nia Mitchell bit her lip. I overheard a little of the CEO’s conversation just now, and I know he misunderstood. Since I was caught eavesdropping, I might as well come clean.

”Actually... when I said it hurt, you misunderstood.”
