Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 455: Chapter 454: Tit for Tat

Upon hearing Evelyn Peary’s words, Yancy Hastings frowned.

”What I have given...”

”Stop, stop, stop, stop! Stop it right there!”

Evelyn Peary cut Yancy off mid-sentence. She didn’t want to hear his long, preachy speech. He would undoubtedly put on a stern face and say earnestly, ”What I give, I never take back. If you don’t want it, just throw it away.”

PAH! If she really threw it away, things would probably become even more convoluted.

”Take it back. I don’t care.”

Evelyn Peary looked stubborn and defiant. She just didn’t want it anymore. Even if Yancy Hastings refused, she was going to throw it away right in front of him today. If she was going to reject him, she might as well do it thoroughly.

”It’s my gift to you.”

Yancy Hastings sat there, looking straight ahead with a stern face, his back rigid. He looked just like a soldier.

”I don’t want it.”

Evelyn Peary scowled. It was just impossible to reason with him.

”If you called me here just to return these things, then I’m leaving now.”

Yancy Hastings stood up. He didn’t even glance at the items on the table and turned to leave.

”Wait.”

Evelyn Peary also abruptly stood up, calling out to stop him.

Yancy Hastings looked at her, puzzled, unsure of what she wanted to do next. Did she stop him just to make him take those things away?

”What is it?”

”My brother is next door.”

Evelyn Peary suddenly declared.

Yancy Hastings was taken aback. He hadn’t expected Maxwell Peary to be there today. Maxwell Peary rarely visited Madgar Pavilion, maybe only a few times a year. Could it be that he was here today?

”I’ll go and take a look.”

Yancy Hastings nodded. He walked out of the private room, heading for where Maxwell Peary was.

Meanwhile, in the other private room, the food had arrived. Maxwell Peary was placing a piece of food into Nia Mitchell’s bowl.

”Try this. It looks good.”

Although they had only ordered four or five dishes, Madgar Pavilion had sent over many new items for them to sample.

”I don’t like this.”

Although Nia Mitchell was a food lover, she was also a picky eater. She only ate what she liked and would absolutely not touch anything she disliked.

”Just try a little. You should at least get some of its nutrients.”

Maxwell Peary didn’t allow her to refuse. After speaking, he directly picked up the food with chopsticks and brought it to her lips.

Seeing his insistent demeanor, Nia Mitchell shot him a small, aggrieved glare but obediently opened her mouth.

This was the scene Yancy Hastings witnessed when he pushed open the door and entered.

”Is it delicious?” Maxwell Peary asked Nia Mitchell, glancing at Yancy Hastings, who was walking over, but didn’t acknowledge him otherwise.

”No, it’s not!”

Nia Mitchell pouted, said huffily, and immediately took a large gulp of juice from the glass beside her. ”You always force me to eat things I don’t like.”

Nia Mitchell had her back to the door and didn’t see Yancy Hastings enter.

”This is really good. You try it.”

Nia Mitchell, quick to retaliate, picked up a sweet jujube and held it to Maxwell Peary’s lips.

Sure enough, Maxwell Peary’s expression changed instantly.

”AHEM!”

Yancy Hastings cleared his throat to remind the two of them—one who couldn’t see him and one who was pretending not to.

He suddenly wasn’t sure why he had eagerly rushed over. Still, this trip had been worthwhile; he had seen a side of Maxwell Peary that he had never shown before. It was just that... he was now doubting his own eyes.
