Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 451: Chapter 450: Peat, too Cruel!

A grimace twisted Owen Lewis’s handsome face as he stood there, deeply conflicted.

Nia Mitchell blinked, her expression puzzled. What’s wrong with this man, hesitating like this?

”Hello?” Nia Mitchell looked at him politely, her expression seeming to ask who he was looking for.

”Oh, I’m Owen Lewis. You can just call me Lewis.” Owen Lewis snapped back to reality and walked over in a daze.

Nia Mitchell frowned. What does that mean?

”Um, I’m the newly appointed Special Assistant.” Owen Lewis awkwardly pointed to Alan Morgan’s previous desk, then walked over and sat down.

Nia Mitchell nearly bit her tongue. Good heavens! This stammering man who seemed so startled and had just approached her was actually the new Special Assistant! In other words, her immediate supervisor. I’m doomed, absolutely doomed! Had I done anything wrong just now? But he’s my superior. Why would he tell me to just call him Lewis?

”So, my relationship with Maxwell Peary is just like Alan Morgan’s was.” Feeling Nia Mitchell’s relentless scrutiny, Owen Lewis turned his head and offered this explanation.

Alan Morgan should be quite familiar to them, right?

Though a smile played on his lips, Owen Lewis was inwardly cursing Alan Morgan up and down. What kind of brother was this? What kind of friend? For Maxwell Peary to get married and not even tell him immediately! And he had to find out right when he was going through his own marital crisis! This was sheer torture! Utter torture!

”Oh.” Nia Mitchell nodded. What a brilliant explanation, she mused. She understood everything perfectly now.

With her acknowledgment, the office room once again fell into a profound silence. As a result, both of them felt like they were sitting on pins and needles.

The awkwardness was almost unbearable. Owen Lewis was just about to flee when his phone rang.

Pulling out his phone and glancing at the caller ID, he frowned slightly and answered, ”Yes?”

”Annie Davidson was found at the Royal Dynasty Hotel, but she checked out a few minutes ago.”

Good Lord! The person they were investigating now was Annie Davidson! One of Maxwell Peary’s most capable subordinates, an expert in computers, tracking, and counter-tracking. For them to locate someone as preternaturally skilled as her was practically a miracle. This power couple joining forces... why did it suddenly feel like internal strife was brewing? Did they have to make things so difficult for their subordinates?

”Keep investigating! Lock down all major traffic routes. Even if we can’t find her, don’t let her leave Capital Town!” Owen Lewis’s face was grim, his brow tightly furrowed.

He racked his brain for a long time, trying to figure out where Annie Davidson might have gone, but he couldn’t come up with anything.

However, it had to be said, Owen Lewis was overthinking it. Annie Davidson couldn’t possibly leave Capital Town. Maxwell Peary had many matters that required her attention, and besides, her upcoming assignments were all in Capital Town.

「At this moment.」

Annie Davidson wore a black windbreaker. She had pulled its attached hood low over her head, and large sunglasses obscured nearly half her face.

「Davidson Family Martial Arts Academy.」

The grand gate couldn’t muffle the shouts erupting from within. Annie Davidson pushed open the unsecured grand gate and walked straight inside.

The moment she entered, a wave of potent, masculine energy—the kind unique to martial artists—washed over her. The courtyard was lined with over a dozen wooden training dummies for fist practice.

”Senior Sister!”

The cry was deafening!

Everyone dressed in white martial arts uniforms paused their training, turning in unison to bow respectfully to Annie Davidson.

”Shh! Keep your voices down! Don’t let my grandfather hear you and come over.” Annie Davidson waved her hand sharply, then pressed an index finger to her lips in a hushing gesture.

”What, afraid to see me!?”
