Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 454: Chapter 453: This is Also a Dowry

Nia Mitchell’s face turned red as she glanced uncomfortably at her small hand being held by the CEO.

To be honest, even though they had been married for a long time and a lot had happened between them, they rarely held hands.

”What’s wrong?”

Maxwell Peary, sensing something was amiss with his wife beside him, turned to look at her.

”Why is your face so red?”

The temperature is fine today. Could she be sick?

Thinking this, Maxwell Peary reached out to touch her forehead.

”It’s not hot.”

Strange!

Maxwell Peary frowned, racking his brain, yet he was completely unable to pinpoint the reason.

Nia Mitchell tried hard to calm her racing heart, forcing a smile onto her face.

”Uncle, is Special Assistant Owen Lewis married?”

She had only caught fragments of their conversation earlier and didn’t understand the specifics of what they were discussing. After all, she knew nothing about it.

”Yes, he got married a few days before us, but they haven’t registered it yet. They had a little dispute today.”

Maxwell Peary, uncharacteristically patient, began to explain to her.

Speaking of disputes, they had had quite a few themselves. The last time, she had made a fuss about leaving and getting a divorce.

”I see.”

Nia Mitchell nodded. She didn’t know many people, but after marrying the CEO, she had become acquainted with several.

This Owen Lewis was the first married person she knew.

”Uncle, when we get to Madgar Pavilion, I’d like to eat sweet and sour beltfish.”

Maxwell Peary was momentarily speechless. Little Rabina, you’re changing the subject too quickly!

”Sure, tell Evelyn when we get there.”

Given Evelyn Peary’s current situation, she’d probably serve Nia whatever she asked for.

「Madgar Pavilion」

After they settled into Maxwell’s exclusive private room, a waiter came over to greet them.

”Apologies, our CEO Peary is currently with a guest. She’ll join you shortly.”

The waiter explained as he poured water for them. Nia Mitchell responded with a sweet smile.

”It’s alright, we’ll wait for her to finish.”

Nia Mitchell reached for the menu, preparing to order.

”Uncle, will you be eating eggplant today?”

She remembered Maxwell enjoyed eating eggplant, so she reflexively asked.

”Yes.”

”Good, then we’ll order eggplant. Do you want it fish-fragrant style or braised in soy sauce?”

Nia Mitchell consulted the menu, seeking Maxwell’s preference.

Before Maxwell had a chance to respond, Nia Mitchell cut him off.

”Let’s have it braised in soy sauce. That way is delicious and has a strong flavor.”

Maxwell Peary was silent for a moment.

”Alright.”

The pair ordered four or five dishes. After handing the menu to the waiter, Nia Mitchell started to get restless.

”Uncle, how much do you think this painting is worth? It’s so beautiful.”

Nia pointed to an exceptionally grand painting hanging on the wall.

”If you like it, we can take it home after dinner.”

It’s just a painting. If Nia Mitchell really liked Madgar Pavilion itself, he could get his hands on it for her.

”No need, there’s no space at home to hang it.”

The design of the villa on the hillside was uniquely outstanding, with every detail perfected. If they were to hang an additional painting, it would ruin the overall style of the villa. She thought it best not to disrupt it.

While they were enjoying a pleasant moment, the atmosphere in the private room next door could only be described as tense.

”You must take this.”

On the table was the jewelry Yancy Hastings had given her a few days prior.

”I never take back things I’ve given.”

Yancy Hastings sat in his military uniform, his handsome, wheat-colored face expressionless. His tone was flat, making it impossible to gauge his mood.

”But this is a betrothal gift, and I haven’t agreed to marry you.”
