Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 487: Chapter 486: A Plea for Help from Shirley Grant

Shirley Grant smiled and patted Gerry Peary’s head.

”Okay, Mommy will always be with you. Would you like Mommy to buy breakfast for Gerry Peary?”

While trying to suppress her tears, the hoarseness in her voice couldn’t fool anyone.

”Okay.”

Watching Gerry Peary’s obedient behavior, Shirley Grant stood up and quickly left the ward. She urgently closed the door behind her, and her tears instantly began to fall.

She covered her mouth tightly and squatted down slowly, tears streamed down like rain.

The nurses who passed by kept glancing at her, whispering and pointing.

Gerry Peary wanted to see his father; she couldn’t be so selfish.

This burden had weighed on her for so many years, and she was on the verge of a breakdown.

Wiping her tears, she took out her phone and dialed Alan Morgan’s number.

BEEP... BEEP... BEEP...

No one answered.

Shirley Grant hesitated for a moment, then pressed the voicemail button.

”Alan Morgan... This is Shirley Grant. I don’t know how far your investigation into me has gone, and I don’t know... I don’t know if you’re aware of Gerry Peary’s existence... The doctor has told me more than once that Gerry Peary... Gerry Peary can’t be delayed any longer. He wants to see his father... but he never says so.

”Would you be willing to come? To see him... To tell him to be strong... to keep fighting to live. I’m getting more and more scared... I want to watch him 24 hours a day, I’m so afraid... afraid that in the blink of an eye, his life will be gone.

”I don’t know what to do anymore... I want... I want to find someone to talk to about this... someone to lean on... I can’t take it anymore, Alan Morgan. I can’t bear it. I really... I really can’t bear it anymore... I’m at Capital Town XX Hospital. Will you come... please?”

After hanging up, she sat there crying. After crying for a long time, she finally went out to buy breakfast.

Meanwhile, Alan Morgan, deep in the mountains, had long lost his phone signal. Due to the rain, fog had risen ahead, obscuring everything in a vast white expanse.

Suddenly, his foot slipped...

Nia Mitchell couldn’t find Fiona Sutton, so she and Charles Northwood sat in a milk tea shop near the school.

”I don’t know where she could have gone. She must be furious with me.”

Nia Mitchell stirred the milk tea in front of her, her face etched with dejection.

”Can you... can you tell me why you married him?”

Charles Northwood hesitated for a long time but still couldn’t resist asking this question.

”Actually, there’s nothing secretive about it. Back then, on the night I got engaged to Hendry Hampton, I was driving that Land Rover when I was inexplicably taken to the Police Bureau and accused of car theft...”

It was a very plain story, without any dramatic twists or turns, but it had woven through her entire life.

”Then I proposed to him, he accepted, and just like that, we were together.”

Even now, when Nia Mitchell talked about it, she found it incredible.

Upon hearing this, Charles Northwood’s brow furrowed tightly.

”So, you just married a man you had only met once...”

He couldn’t comprehend Nia Mitchell’s thinking. What if she had encountered a bad man? What if the person she’d met had character flaws—what if he was a gambler, a con artist, or worse... Had she ever truly taken responsibility for herself?

”I know you must be very angry. I realized afterward that my actions were too impulsive. That’s why I never dared to tell you all. I was waiting for the right opportunity.”
