Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4246  Father Versus Son

”He succeeded!”

”Excellent!”

”I knew he could do it. Heʼs my grandson, after all.”

Niera jumped before she turned around and pounced into Davisʼs chest, pouring her heart out.

Davisʼs gaze gleamed, and Claire also heaved a sigh of relief. She had given extra attention to Lucian during the classes- no, the entire period of education and had watched him suffer with her own eyes. Therefore, when she saw him endure his destructive physique and manage to control the golden apocalyptic flames, it brought her immense joy and relief.

Nora also heaved a huge sigh and hugged her little sister Niera.

Eterna and the others were dumbfounded. Their jaws dropped as they sensed the immense power from their seventh sibling, who was supposed to be the last of their class but was the first one to enter the Immortal Stage and the first one to enter the Immortal King Stage.

They were envious of his improvement, but at the same time, they watched him suffer for it, so they didnʼt think it was worth it. Still, now that they sensed his immense prowess, they couldnʼt help but look at him in awe. Their seven siblings were really amazing for him to be able to suppress and control such a divergent physique.

At this moment, there was a scorching shout from the arena, demanding a duel.

Everyone blinked at Lucian before they turned to look at Davis.

”…”

Davis had an odd expression on his face.

Did his son really expect to win with that improved prowess? But he couldnʼt go ahead and break his sonʼs confidence either.

ʼWhat a dilemma…ʼ

Davis nearly frowned, ”Are you sure? You know how strong your father is.”

”I do know.” Luciaʼs lips curled confidently. It was almost as if he lost his innocent look as he folded his hands and looked confident, ”Now get over here and fight me. Iʼm no longer a child. Recognize me as a man!”

ʼLittle brat, youʼre not even the bare minimum sixteen…ʼ

Davis inwardly clenched his teeth as he smiled.

He chuckled, ”Alright, fine. Have it your way.”

”Davis~”

”Husband~”

Niera and the others called him to stop, but he didnʼt pay heed. They watched him fly and descend towards the battle arena. As he did so, they sensed Davis getting weaker and weaker. He was suppressing his cultivation base.

They didnʼt know his true cultivation base as he was highly suppressing it, but they could tell that his cultivation base was dropping to Level Four Immortal Emperor Stage. By the time he landed, it was already Level One Immortal Emperor Stage.

However, the suppression didnʼt stop.

The rules of this coliseum were to suppress oneʼs cultivation base to the challenger, so they werenʼt surprised that it didnʼt stop.

Davis suppressed his cultivation all the way until Level One Immortal King Stage.

They furrowed their brows since they imagined he would stop at Level Seven Immortal King Stage since thatʼs where Lucianʼs cultivation base was temporarily boosted to, but it seems like Davis chose not to.

”Hmm?” Lucian frowned, ”Father, I know youʼre strong, but if you donʼt match my cultivation base, it will really be difficult to attack me. I know I canʼt battle against you if you match my current cultivation base. At least, become a Level Four Immortal King. I think that will allow us to fight evenly.”

”Donʼt worry about your father, child. You charge at me with your full force, holding nothing back.”

”…”

Lucianʼs expression churned. It was as though his physique didnʼt allow him to be looked down upon, making him take a deep breath and clench his fists.

”Then donʼt blame me for being ruthless.”

*Boom!~*

Lucian disappeared and appeared before Davis with an immense speed. Underneath, the soles of his foot practically burst with flames, giving him a huge boost in speed before he punched out against Davis, golden apocalyptic flames surging from his fist.

*Bang!~*

Davis reached out his hand and caught Lucianʼs fist, abruptly suppressing the apocalyptic golden flames that were about to soar and sear him alive.

Lucianʼs eyes widened as Davis casually grasped his fist, nullifying his apocalyptic golden flames as though they were a mere candleʼs flicker.

”Impossible…!” Lucianʼs expression twisted in shock, but his battle instincts kicked in before he could hesitate.

He twisted his waist and brought up his knee, aiming a ferocious strike at Davisʼs ribs. He didnʼt hold back at all as he was told to.

*Boom!~*

A golden shockwave erupted from Lucianʼs knee, the heat distorting the air, yet Davis turned slightly, allowing the strike to brush past his robes. Without letting Lucian retreat, he flicked his free hand.

*Pa!~*

A casual slap landed on Lucianʼs chest, yet the sheer force behind it sent him flying like a shooting star, crashing into the reinforced battle arena with a deafening explosion.

*Crack!~*

The arenaʼs floor shattered under the impact. Dust and golden flames surged into the air, obscuring that part of the battlefield.

Yet, before the debris could settle, a resplendent golden glow shone from within.

*Bzzz!~*

Lucian erupted from the crater, his golden flames surging higher, wilder, and more condensed as he hovered. His fists clenched tighter as battle intent soared in his eyes. His blood boiled in excitement, but the fear in his eyes was also visible, forming a juxtaposition where he wanted to win against his father no matter what.

”Oh?”

Davisʼs brows raised as he sensed Lucianʼs prowess increase from five levels higher to six levels higher. He felt as though Lucian was already gaining more control of the golden apocalyptic flames, which he felt was marvelous. That made him decide to accompany Lucian in this battle.

”Iʼm not done yet!”

Lucian stomped down, and his entire figure blurred.

Davis raised a brow as he felt the distortion of space around Lucianʼs body.

”Flamevoid Apocalyptic Step!”

Lucian used the new technique he learned from mother Zestria. It was a technique that used a combination of Fire Laws and Space Laws, and since his own golden apocalyptic flames impacted it, he changed its name and made it his own.

He vanished like a mirage and reappeared above Davis, his fists crashing down like a meteor. A torrent of golden destruction surged forth, igniting the surface of the arena with intense energy.

*BOOOOM!~*

Golden apocalyptic flames swallowed Davisʼs figure whole, leaving only an expanding inferno in its wake.

The crowd gasped in awe, but Lucian didnʼt smile. His instincts screamed at him—

*Swish!*

A shadow cut through the golden blaze like a ghost. Before Lucian could react, a finger gently pressed against his forehead.

His vision blurred.

*BOOM!~*

An unseen force blasted him backward. He tumbled through the air before regaining balance, skidding across the arena floor, his feet digging trenches into the scorched stone. His chest rose and fell in heavy breaths as he looked up.

Davis still stood there, calm and composed, not a single wisp of golden apocalyptic flames daring to linger on his robes. His finger, which had tapped Lucian, lowered back to his side.

”Not bad. Your technique is excellent, but your prowess is lacking.”

”…” Lucian gritted his teeth.

Davis grinned.

The truth was that theyʼve been feeding lies to their children about their true prowess since they would get too arrogant as they grew up, thinking that they wield immense power and if anything happened, their parents would protect them or they could even go against their parents.

Hence, Lucian thought that his fatherʼs prowess was only around nine levels higher. Little did he know that it was nearly double that.
