Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4230  Sixth Bestowal

After the banquet, Davis didnʼt return to seclusion.

He went to the Whispering Wildlands Peninsula and joined Tina there. All this time, Tina only used her soul body to interact with them. After she entered the Empyrean Stage, she no longer had an avatar, after all.

To create one, even more effort was needed. She didnʼt know how exactly one should go about creating an avatar that required Five Elements. Its difficulty was crazy high. Still, she could use her soul body, so she attended the family meetings this way.

Regardless, Davis visited her every month as promised.

He greeted her with a kiss and was brought to the Realm Coreʼs chamber.

”Who is it now?” Tina asked with a curious smile as she looked at her sisters behind him.

She had no idea who it was going to be bestowed with the Realm Coreʼs energy next. She could choose, but the final decision was made by Davis or the Harem Council. So far, only the Harem Council has chosen two, while Davis has chosen one after herself.

”Itʼs Mingzhi,” Davis said with a wry smile.

”Oh?” Tina raised her brows, thinking it was unexpected since she felt Mingzhi to be the type to get to the Empyrean Stage on her own and brag about it.

”Screw cultivation.” Mingzhi had her hands on her hips, looking smug and shameless, ”Iʼll become an Empyrean the easy way and spend my time nurturing Tianyu. My sweet Yuʼer~” Mingzhi embraced herself as she imagined her son in her arms.

”-so she says.” Davis shook his head, ”I think she deserves it for guarding us like a night hawk all year long.”

Tina giggled, ”I see you have already become a doting mother.”

”Yes~” Mingzhi smirked.

”Be careful. A mother like her is the basis for an evil son to be bor- oof.”

Mingzhi elbowed Davis, causing him to bend and fake some pain.

”You still havenʼt located a suitable companion for my son.” Mingzhi glared at him.

Davis grabbed her hands and comforted her, ”Itʼs only been five days since you gave birth. Forget a companion for your son for the time being. Iʼm worried about you. You should still be in bed, not cultivate or come here. It will take a toll on your body to be bestowed with such an immense amount of energy at once. You were stuck at Level Three Immortal Emperor Stage for nine months due to the pregnancy, and now you have stepped into Level Four. At least, get to Level Six Immortal Emperor Stage before receiving this big boost.”

”No, I need to quickly become an Empyrean and return to my son.” Mingzhi remained adamant.

It caused Davis to smile helplessly at Tina.

”Understood. Iʼll give you some time to reconsider. Calypsea, come here.”

Tina brought away Calypsea. After all, without Calypsea, they would not be able to interact with the Realm Core Spirit.

”Mingzhi, are you sure? Entering the Empyrean Stage would mean you will not be able to enter the secret realm in the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm.”

”Thatʼs fine. I didnʼt want to head there anyway.”

Davis tried to convince Mingzhi for the next few minutes, but Mingzhi stood firm.

”Alright, count yourself motherly.”

Davis pointed at her before he nodded at Tina.

Tina could see a hint of pride on his face. She gestured at Mingzhi, and they watched her walk towards the Realm Core.

”First, it was Epsila who became an Empyrean Spirit in the sixth month. Then it was our dear forgemaster, Sophie. In the eighth month, it was Tanya. Finally, itʼs now Mingzhi. Whoʼs next?” Fiora asked with some interest.

”Do you want to be next?” Davis turned to look at her.

”Kind of…” Fioraʼs lips curled with some embarrassment, but she raised her hand, ”I would love to earn the spot if it is available to be given out. I have the lowest cultivation of all, after all.”

Davis nodded, ”Nurturing Arc is not a small issue. He needs to be given the most attention since he doesnʼt have talent, so I know you spend a lot of time looking after him. If you want the next spot, I will give it to you, but as usual, you also need to consider what I said to Mingzhi. Besides, you donʼt have a suitable cultivation manual. Though you may use Zephya as an anchor, I wouldnʼt recommend it. There would be flaws in your cultivation.”

”…” Fiora seemed to be contemplating his words.

Davis continued, ”Epsila doesnʼt need a cultivation manual, for sheʼs a spirit. Sophie unearthed an Empyrean Grade Cultivation Manual from the scroll of that Forging Table. Tanya received the new Frigid Veil Sword Art from the Frostcloud Sword Empress, and Mingzhi gained the Empyrean Grade version of the Eternal Daynight Scripture from the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm. I suggest you wait before you choose to become an Empyrean.”

”However, the most important reason is something else.”

”…?”

Davis paused before he heaved a sigh, ”The Realm Core needs a break, or it would collapse from the rapid draining of lifespan. We found out that subsequent usage of the same abilities will exponentially decrease the lifespan of the Realm Core. In other words, the more we use it, the more we are inevitably abusing it, and according to the Realm Core Spirit, it would invite a huge disaster.”

”Oh…” Fiora and the others had their brows wide.

Isabella nodded, ”So this is why we need to gain the Verdant Vale Realm Core.”

”Exactly.” Davis gave a firm nod, ”Thatʼs why this will be the last bestowal for the year. We wonʼt use it unless we need it badly.”

”Got it. Iʼll find a suitable wind-attributed cultivation manual that perfectly fits my annihilative winds.”

”Donʼt worry. I can share my findings about incorporating annihilative winds into my current manual. With that, your progress should increase.”

”Iʼm grateful, darling~” Fiora swooned over to him and kissed his cheek, causing him to chuckle.

”Well, you would still be on the burner if things didnʼt go well today. Letʼs see how bestowing one of its abilities to a Divergent like Mingzhi would go. If it is too much, then we need to forget about it.”

”Mhm~” Fiora nodded.

She already knew the reason why Davis was so hesitant about receiving the Realm Coreʼs bestowal was because he was worried that an Anarchic Divergent like him could cause the Realm Core to collapse. In the same vein, he was also worried that it may cause catastrophic calamities to appear in this realm.

She could now tell that he had decided to test the waters by accepting Mingzhiʼs selfishness.

While they were talking, the Realm Core trembled, and a ray of light fell on Mingzhi, rapidly increasing her cultivation from Level Four Immortal Emperor Stage. Her aura rose grandly, and the undulations she released made the people around her feel as though a warm and cold feeling was enveloping them.

It was as though they were stuck in twilight.

Within a few minutes, Mingzhi reached Level Nine Immortal Emperor Stage, barely a step away from breaking through.

However, she suppressed her cultivation near the very limit.

Mingzhi took a deep breath and walked back to them. She couldnʼt believe the terrifying amount of energy she just received. No wonder Epsila, Sophie, and Tanya easily entered the Empyrean Stage.

”Feeling constipated?” Davis grinned.

”You-!”

Mingzhi almost burst out on the spot, but she barely held back her tongue and her cultivation. She really did find it difficult to control it, feeling like she could release the flood and break the bottleneck the moment she lost focus.

It would take a while to control the breakthrough, but she had no intention of staying in the Immortal Emperor Stage.

Davis gestured, ”Stella, take her to the tribulation grounds.”

”Will do~”

Stella nodded. Mingzhi and her quickly left through the mini-realm and landed in the Goldlust Rat Lower Realm, where their tribulation formation was present.

Back in the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm, Davis commanded.

”Nightveil, survey the realm as planned. Tina, have Esmond investigate if any anomalies or even disturbances occur. Calypsea, ask if the Realm Core Spirit is feeling anything strange other than the loss of lifespan.”

Nightveil, Tina, and Calypsea all nodded and got to work.
