Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4236  Second Year

Davis nodded with a calm look, ”Fair enough. But to me, my family is the most important. The love and warmth they provide me cannot be lost, and I wouldnʼt dare to lose them in exchange for anything. No amount of lives would compare. Do you not have someone or something like that for you to be aware of this feeling?”

”…” Fairy Runaliseʼs brows squinted, ”Iʼm an orphan. I know no love or warmth you speak of.”

”True, I guess there are only teachings that tell you to kill Divergents no matter what. It is good for the entirety of the universe, so I canʼt find fault, but when it affects me and my friends, I need to stand against it, or I wouldnʼt be a cultivator, much less a man.”

Davis chuckled. His words caused Fairy Runalise to be silent, but her gaze transmitted numerous thoughts to him.

He stopped smiling and frowned, ”Could it be that you are thinking that you could have stopped this calamity if you had just exposed me?”

”…” Fairy Runaliseʼs brows twitched.

”If so, you are extremely wrong. If the Venerable Knights came here, only blood would flow throughout the tens of realms before I die. It wouldnʼt be millions but trillions at that point. I must say you did well to stop it from happening by keeping quiet.”

”Thatʼs-” Fairy Runalise protested.

”Why donʼt you keep an eye on me and see if I am truly the evil you all speak of? Well, you are already doing it I guess. Still, if you find it difficult, just return to the Upper Realms and hunt some other Divergent. Why are you burdening yourself with a powerful monster like me? I canʼt understand.”

”…” Fairy Runalise clenched her teeth.

Whether it was the Divine Emperor of Death or the Venerable Hollow Knight, both were telling her to leave for the Upper Realms for different reasons.

She hated it, causing her to tremble heavily, her bosoms heaving.

”Fine…” She spoke through her clenched teeth, ”I will keep an eye on you and see to it that you do no evil. I will stop you from doing anything vile, and if you go overboard, I will take action even if it means the end of my life.”

”You- suit yourself.”

Davis harrumphed and turned around to leave as though he was annoyed at that decision.

But inwardly, he was celebrating.

Although he couldnʼt see anything that would cause Fairy Runalise to lose faith in the heavens, she was already starting to sympathize with his plight. He was starting to believe that was a good thing. Otherwise, she wouldnʼt have made the decisions she had taken so far.

He strode back to seclusion while Fairy Runalise decided to stay in the realm.

She wasnʼt allowed near their estate, so she remained in the city, making sure these people were protected from all forms of bullying. Since she was already doing ʼbadʼ things, she no longer followed the Heavenʼs Warrior decree from above and interfered with the lives of ordinary people, protecting them from abuse.

At the same time, she had her senses extended to monitor their activities, making sure they werenʼt doing anything bad.

In return, they also had people watching her.

The Reaper Soul Legion finally had some worthy mission in their own realm. They were all excited to keep an eye on Heavenʼs Warrior and report to him if she was about to go crazy. Still, only the Captains and above were capable of stopping Fairy Runalise.

After all, Commander Yotan, Vice Commander Threelotus, and the three Captains all entered the Empyrean Stage. Their cultivation manuals were all generic in Empyrean Grade, meaning that it could be seen even among those who were poor and managed to become an Empyrean after living their lives for so long. Their manual was also the same since they were all once Soul Palace cultivators who practiced the same manual from the very beginning. Still, their prowess was extremely strong since Epsila aided with their Soul Forging cultivations.

Nonetheless, Davis didnʼt know what would come of this, but he knew Fairy Runalise would surely try to stop him if they set out to conquer the Verdant Vale Lower Realm. At that time, he wondered if she would expose him, but he didnʼt care since it would already be too late by that time.

=========

Three months passed just like that. It was one year from the Covenant.

All the chaos that emerged from the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm that left people feeling terrified all over died down like nothing happened. The threat of the Divine Emperor of Death vanished into thin air as he was nowhere to be seen. But that didnʼt stop the Heavenʼs Warriors from investigating harder.

However, the two Venerable Knights who came from other realms already returned two months ago. Hence, it could be said that they were back to square one.

Davis came out of seclusion as usual to spend time with his family.

However, he has been sad since last month, when he sent away Natalya, Tanya, and Pia to the Frozen Wasteland Lower Realm.

When he came out of seclusion last month, Natalya told him that the strange calling in her head got stronger and stronger until it started fading out slowly. They guessed it was a sign the inheritance was going to begin soon, so if he was going to send her away, then now was the time.

Therefore, he had no choice but to send Natalya to the Frozen Wasteland Lower Realm.

He was missing her and Tanya already.

However, he wasnʼt worried since Tanya was there together with her. He also chose not to send Illumina since her face was known. The Heavenʼs Warriors and the people didnʼt know Tanya and Natalya well, so there was nearly zero chance that they would target them.

Davis masked his expression and went to play with his children.

Now, their ages were matched through the use of time chambers, and they grew together.

Eterna, Celestia, Aurelia, Sheria, Azariel, Viridia, and Lucian were all aged twelve. They now carried a semblance of ʼprince charmingʼ and ʼcelestial beautiesʼ, their bearings and looks making anyone in the Davis Family proud.

They already got a lot of wedding proposals from other families, making Davis speechless, but he was not surprised since he was also a hot commodity when he was a little Crown Prince, everyone and their fathers trying to convince his parents to get their daughters married to him.

As for the second class, which consisted of Noctis, Styx, Ragna, Arc, Xiesha, Tianyu, and Felix, they were all nearly five years old.

Davis carried little Xiesha, who looked like a small snow spirit. She was the cutest, in his opinion, causing Sheria to pout, but she smiled sweetly, her charm trouncing everyone in the room.

Iesha was together with him at that moment, but she also shared the same sentiment as him, missing Natalya deeply from the bottom of her heart. She didnʼt think she would miss Natalya this much, even making her shed tears secretly.

She didnʼt get the chance to go with Natalya since she had Xiesha to take care of. If it had just been one more month later, then she couldʼve joined, but now, she had to stay here without her spiritual partner.

Nonetheless, Xieshaʼs presence soothed her, and she played with them together, creating ice spheres and throwing them at each other as the winter set in various regions throughout the realms and also their mini-realms.
