I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 880, The Shocked Intelligence Agents

Translator: Silavin

Sha Lan, Ga and others departed from the Tribe on hot air balloons, heading towards the previous location where they placed the mark.

This was already their fourth visit. The previous three times, they had not seen anyone at the marked site.

On the third occasion, everyone had changed to a different location to mark, thinking there was a high probability they should see someone.

“Why was there no one the previous three times? Are you really not deceiving us?” Yan Hua said through gritted teeth.

If not for Su Bai’s instructions, Yan Hua would probably have truly quarrelled with Ga long ago.

Now that they had left the Tribe, thinking of the previous few wasted trips, she immediately became somewhat suspicious.

“I don’t know either. I also hope your Tribe can help me overthrow the Dark Scorpion Tribe. There’s no reason to deceive you,” Ga spoke very sincerely.

When no one was seen the previous few times, she had also felt very surprised. Logically, it was impossible for there to be mistakes.

“You keep saying you hope our Tribe can help you overthrow them, but you haven’t shown sincerity the previous three times,” Sha Lan also turned around and said.

This journey’s hot air balloons numbered two in total. Sha Lan, Ga, Yan Hua and Ai’er were in one hot air balloon. Hei Ya, Mai Mang, Teng Ye and others were in another hot air balloon. The reason for having so many people this time was to guard against any eventuality.

“I already explained to you last time. It’s very possible that the Stone Thorn Tree we found last time was too close to your Tribe. Intelligence agents won’t go that close.”

Ga brushed her green hair. These explanations had already been repeated to exhaustion. She looked helplessly into the distance, searching for the shadow of a Stone Thorn Tree.

“I hope this time we can truly see the so-called intelligence agents,” Yan Hua snorted and turned her head away.

Last time, they had deliberately gone to a place relatively far from the Tribe, searching carefully for quite a while before finding a tall Stone Thorn Tree.

Moreover, they had also seen the marks made previously on it, though some time had passed.

Therefore, everyone was quite certain that this time they should be able to see the so-called intelligence agents. That was why so many people had been sent out.

*Whoosh whoosh whoosh…*

The hot air balloons continuously flew towards their destination. Ai’er kept scouting the path ahead to prevent the hot air balloon’s route from deviating.

When Yan Hua and the others set out, it was just as dawn broke. Now it was already afternoon.

They had left the Flame Dragon Tribe a very great distance. On foot, it would take approximately two days to walk.

“I can already see the Stone Thorn Tree.” Ai’er shouted from far away. Her purple butterfly wings flapped with particular force, her face full of excitement.

“How much longer until we get there?” Yan Hua didn’t notice the expression on the other’s face at all.

“Are there people waiting?” Ga was the first to notice something amiss. She felt that usually when the butterfly young lady returned after checking intelligence, she was quite normal. Only this time was she smiling particularly happily.

“Yes, there are two people waiting under the tree. I didn’t dare get too close. I can’t see clearly what they look like,” Ai’er circled beside the hot air balloon.

“Great, there are finally intelligence agents.” Ga also breathed a sigh of relief. She knew if there were no one again this time, she definitely wouldn’t be trusted.

Not being trusted was still a small matter. Whether she could continue staying in the Flame Dragon Tribe would be uncertain.

Ever since she had been captured by the Flame Dragon Tribe and submitted to them, in the days living in the Tribe, she had already deeply fallen in love with this Tribe.

Ga had never seen a Tribe like this. Looking around, most were cement houses and spacious stone roads. Moreover, there was also a super large Central Market. The goods available for exchange inside were things she had never seen before.

Besides this, the Tribe also had pools of water. These pools were extremely clean. Even the daily drinking water had to be heated, amongst other things. All of this was unheard of.

However, she liked this kind of life. The clean and efficient Flame Dragon Tribe was countless times better than the Dark Scorpion Tribe.

She liked the days when she could bathe every day. She liked the smell of bathing even more. Only now did she discover that being clean was this comfortable.

“Are you daydreaming? Didn’t you expect there would be intelligence agents? Did this interrupt your plan?”

Sha Lan had been observing the other’s expression. She hadn’t expected the other to actually start daydreaming.

“No, I’m just relieved. This way you’ll believe me, won’t you?” Ga revealed a long-unseen smile.

“You…” Sha Lan was momentarily at a loss for words, thrown off by the other’s smile.

*Whoosh whoosh whoosh…* The hot air balloon continued approaching. It would take over two more hours to reach the Stone Thorn Tree. They still had to rely on the hot air balloon to advance to the vicinity before stopping. Otherwise, they would very easily alert the enemy.

Time passed minute by minute. Everyone on the hot air balloon felt very anxious, including Ga.

There was no other reason. She was worried the intelligence agents would leave after waiting too long, so she appeared particularly anxious.

During this time, Sha Lan had also been sizing up the other. Looking at the other’s expression, she felt there was nothing to fault.

She couldn’t help thinking, [Had she truly completely submitted to the Flame Dragon Tribe?]

If so, her and Yan Hua’s previous attitudes were truly laughable.

“You don’t need to look at me like that. I’m a person of the Flame Dragon Tribe now. You need to try to trust me.” Ga did not meet Sha Lan’s eyes. She continued facing forward, but she could sense someone had been staring at her.

*Ahem.* Sha Lan coughed lightly, her face unnaturally looking elsewhere as well.

“Huh?” Yan Hua looked at the two with some confusion.

She couldn’t quite understand why the two kept being at an impasse. Right now, she only hoped to quickly reach the vicinity of the Stone Thorn Tree.

Over two hours later, the hot air balloon stopped near the Stone Thorn Tree. Ga began walking alone towards that tree.

Yan Hua and Sha Lan stayed very far away, constantly jumping back and forth in the tall trees.

Ai’er also flew high in the sky, holding binoculars ready to watch Ga.

However, they were all very careful. No one wanted the intelligence agents to discover Ga had already defected.

*Step step step…*

Ga walked for over another half hour before arriving at the Stone Thorn Tree, seeing those two intelligence agents waiting very anxiously.

“Deputy Leader, you’ve finally arrived. I didn’t expect it would be you who left the marker,” one intelligence agent breathed a sigh of relief.

They had originally planned to leave, but still wanted to wait a bit longer. Fortunately, they hadn’t left just now. However, they hadn’t expected it would be the scorpion young lady who came.

“Deputy Leader, do you have some task? Why would you leave the Tribe and personally come here?” Another intelligence agent was also curious.

Generally, Ga wouldn’t easily leave the vicinity of the Dark Scorpion Tribe, which was why these intelligence agents were so surprised to see her here.

“Because the Shaman assigned me a task,” Ga’s face returned to a cold feeling.

“Deputy Leader, what intelligence do you want us to pass on this time?” the intelligence agent asked.

They had no idea the Dark Scorpion Tribe had already sent people to attack the Flame Dragon Tribe. Even if they were to know, it would be about ten days after the rainy season arrived.

There was no other reason. It all relied on person-to-person transmission to learn of situations, and the Dark Scorpion Tribe was very far from the Flame Dragon Tribe.

These intelligence agents temporarily not knowing was quite normal. This was also why they were very shocked to see Ga.
