I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 860, Paralysis Poison

Translator: Silavin

Yan Hua recognized this sound well, having encountered Six Eyed Red Birds with Yan Jiao during childhood.

Naturally she knew this Ferocious Beast’s calls. Now approaching so closely, naturally no longer unfamiliar.

*Step step step…*

Yan Hua ultimately chose ascending trees, deciding to search while traveling between tree trunks.

After all, Six Eyed Red Birds’ advantage was exceptional speed, though their weakness was the inability to fly.

So, avoiding these Ferocious Beasts’ attacks meant scaling up trees. Not yet having seen Six Eyed Red Birds, choosing to move around close to trees proved the wisest decision one could make.

Besides effectively locating the Six Eyed Red Birds, trees also prevented her from being too easily exposed while providing sufficient time to escape.

*Whoosh whoosh whoosh…*

Yan Hua moved her agile form leaping between tree trunks, her movements extraordinarily light.

She had minimized any noise she made, because disturbing Six Eyed Red Birds would trigger rapid running.

“Ah Hua, I’m here.” Ai’er had spotted moving figures in the forest from altitude.

The butterfly girl immediately reduced altitude, cautiously weaving through branch-tangled trees.

Finally flying parallel with Yan Hua at equal height, continuously controlling flight to prevent descent.

“Why are you here? Did you also discover them?” Yan Hua asked without turning.

She needed to concentrate on surrounding environments and detecting Six Eyed Red Bird traces ahead.

“Also? Ah Hua, you’ve found Six Eyed Red Birds?” Ai’er asked curiously.

“Not yet. But I heard their calls. They should be nearby.” Yan Hua shook her head.

“I thought so. Six Eyed Red Birds are directly ahead, though still some distance to reach.” Ai’er pointed forward.

The butterfly girl had just hesitated briefly. Clearly when observing previously, they had been some distance away. So Yan Hua’s statement surprised her slightly.

“Have you notified others? Is everyone rushing in this direction?” Yan Hua asked.

Capturing living Six Eyed Red Birds was not achievable alone. She needed a team.

“I’ve already notified everyone individually. Everyone’s rushing in this direction. They should arrive soon.” Ai’er continued flying.

She felt flying through this branch-tangled forest proved more convenient than leaping across tree trunks.

*Step step step…*

*Rustle rustle…*

Continuous leaf-rustling sounds emerged, accompanied by branch-treading sounds.

Ye Jiu, Sha Lan and others began approaching Yan Hua’s direction. Soon six people converged.

“Everyone, quieten down. Avoid alerting them.” Ye Jiu cautioned.

Because Six Eyed Red Birds possessed exceptional speed, they were also relatively timid, fleeing immediately upon detecting dangerous sounds or fighting as if their lives depended on it.

“Understood.” Everyone didn’t advance together.

Instead, they dispersed at intervals while advancing. Clustering would attract the Six Eyed Red Birds’ attention.

Also attracting other Ferocious Beasts’ attention would be counterproductive.

Half an hour later, everyone gathered on a large tree, ceasing further advance. The target remained nearby.

Ye Jiu observed eight Six Eyed Red Birds searching for food, raising her hand to signal silence. She blinked grey eyes, saying. “We’ll proceed according to the Shaman’s plan. We cannot disturb them.”

Yue extracted several bottles from her backpack, distributing them to everyone. “Everyone has one opportunity. Don’t waste it.”

The rabbit eared girl distributed paralysis poison. This was developed by Co Co before departing the Tribe.

All materials were found during Su Bai’s Hunting Ground expedition, various fruits causing paralysis, plants producing paralysis upon contact.

These materials’ common characteristic was brief neural paralysis. Without Cang Shi’s initial caution, Su Bai would not have noticed these items. Initially he had only mentioned researching them.

Co Co had accidentally discovered this paralysis poison during some miscellaneous research.

However, these were all prototypes, the paralysis only lasted merely several seconds.

The quantities were not particularly abundant as well.

Without this Six Eyed Red Bird capture mission, Su Bai might have forgotten these prototype paralysis poison.

But fortunately this mission reminded him that future development could continue. An improved version could still be made.

“Shaman specifically cautioned us. This only lasts several seconds. We must reach them within these seconds and use the Shaman Bone Tablet.”

Ye Jiu observed everyone holding paralysis poison, continuing. “We only get one opportunity. Missing this means waiting for more to appear.”

“Understood.” Everyone nodded again.

“Right, I’m selecting my target now. You all select yours. Don’t collide with mine.” Yan Hua cautioned.

“Then I want the one currently searching ground for food, closest to me.” Sha Lan indicated one.

Others similarly selected their targets, slowly advancing toward them.

Everyone proceeded extraordinarily carefully. Nobody wanted to disturb these speed-specialized Ferocious Beasts.

*Rustle rustle…*

Six Eyed Red Birds also detected something wrong, sensing approaching presences.

All Six Eyed Red Birds stopped searching for food, standing straight while extending long necks to survey surroundings.

Large red eyes continuously scanning, thick long legs beginning to tense slightly.

They prepared for flight. If Six Eyed Red Birds confirmed danger, immediate escape would follow.

*Snap!*

Ye Jiu snapped her fingers. This was the commencement signal. Others receiving the signal acted immediately.

Yan Hua had already coated arrows with paralysis poison, though the arrows were not stone or iron ore-forged. Instead, it was beast bone-forged, deliberately not particularly sharp, preventing Six Eyed Red Birds’ immediate death.

Though the paralysis poison was just a prototype, the concentration was extremely high. After all, she had used an entire bone bottle for the coating.

Once penetrating skin and entering the bloodstream, even a large Ferocious Beast like the Six Eyed Red Birds would be paralyzed for several seconds.

*Whoosh whoosh whoosh…*

Several breaking-air sounds rang out. Six arrows flew toward the Six Eyed Red Birds.
