I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 879, Drawing Out More Rats

Ye Jiu ascended to the second floor of the Yong’an Building from outside with a serious expression. Only after being summoned did she walk in.

“What’s wrong? Why the long face?” Su Bai was still holding a cup of hot tea. Although the wolf eared girl’s expression was always ice-cold, he could still see something different.

“Shaman, we’ve discovered some rats. They’re all coveting our goods,” Ye Jiu said seriously.

“Oh? Tell me about it,” Su Bai returned to his seat and sat down.

He had long anticipated this. Given the Flame Dragon Tribe’s current rate of development, it would indeed attract some people to investigate.

As for what methods everyone used, he didn’t know. However, it was nothing more than asking around.

He wasn’t worried about this at all. Before the Central Market had even been established, he had already instructed everyone.

Nothing about the Flame Dragon Tribe could be revealed to anyone, even to their own Family members.

Therefore, everyone at each workshop kept their mouths tightly shut, as they had all signed confidentiality agreements.

Specifically, once they leaked secrets, not only would they suffer consequences, but their families would also be implicated.

Those people were not stupid. Their current good life was all given by the Shaman. They wouldn’t easily throw away such a good life. Moreover, once people from other Tribes learned the Flame Dragon Tribe’s secrets, other Tribes would likewise develop better. They might even devour the Flame Dragon Tribe. They would never allow such a thing to happen.

Now, everyone in the Flame Dragon Tribe had their own sense of responsibility. They knew they must properly protect the Tribe.

“The Earth Tiger Tribe and the Green Vine Tribe. People from both Tribes are finding out about the source of our Tribe’s goods,” Ye Jiu said word by word.

Ever since Ye Jiu had been given the position to lead the Assassination Group, she had been secretly protecting the Tribe.

At the same time, she was also doing intelligence gathering work and finding out about other Tribes’ movements regarding the Flame Dragon Tribe.

She also knew that the way the Flame Dragon Tribe looked now would definitely attract the attention of many Tribes.

“The Earth Tiger Tribe finding out about our Tribe’s secrets for our source of goods is quite normal, but why is even the Green Vine Tribe investigating us?” Su Bai furrowed his brow.

He had thought of any Tribe, just not that even the Green Vine Tribe would do this.

However, he soon felt relieved. His impression of the Green Vine Tribe was only of Ah Liv. He had a bit of a preconceived notion.

In the Primitive Era, regardless of which Tribe it was, it was all the same. For good things, they definitely wanted to know about them.

“Shaman, how should we deal with those people? Should we first arrest them all and lock them in the dungeon?” Ye Jiu immediately asked.

She would never allow anyone to destroy the Flame Dragon Tribe’s stability now. If there were any, she absolutely wouldn’t let them off.

“Let them be for now. Wait a couple of days before arresting them. This is quite interesting.” The corners of Su Bai’s mouth raised slightly. He already had an idea, though this idea could only be implemented in a couple of days.

“Yes. Then I’ll continue watching them now to prevent them from doing anything outrageous,” Ye Jiu immediately said.

She had been holding back all along. If not for wanting to avoid alerting the enemy, she would have arrested them all long ago.

“Who from the Green Vine Tribe is sourcing for information? Is it related to Ah Liv?” Su Bai asked.

“It seems unrelated to her. Ah Liv has been continuously trading. In her free time, she’s been wandering around our Tribe.”

Ye Jiu recalled, then continued, “The ones finding out our information are two other people. Ah Liv has no contact with them.”

“Looks like the Green Vine Tribe’s Shaman concealed this from Ah Liv. Then don’t let her know about this matter for now,” Su Bai instructed.

“Understood. I’ll continue watching Ah Liv these two days to make sure she isn’t just pretending these past days,” Ye Jiu continued.

“En. What about the Earth Tiger Tribe? Are the people investigating the source of goods this time the same batch as last time?” Su Bai continued asking.

“Yes, still that batch of people. One of them is even from the same Tribe as Lu Zi,” Ye Jiu said coldly. She had been gathering this intelligence continuously for the past two days. To verify the truth of matters, she had investigated for two full days before coming to report.

“Understood. Then spread the news that someone knows the secret source of the Flame Dragon Tribe’s goods,” Su Bai instructed.

“Shaman, won’t that be inappropriate? Didn’t you say our goods’ secrets can’t be known by others?” Ye Jiu furrowed her brow slightly.

She felt that the Tribe’s current good things absolutely couldn’t be known by others.

If people from other Tribes found out, they would definitely come to plunder. At that time, the allied Tribes would become the target of all Tribes.

Even relying on current weapons, they could deal with some Tribes. But once there were many Tribes attacking the Flame Dragon Tribe, they definitely couldn’t withstand it.

Ye Jiu did not want their current good life to be ruined because they proactively released the secrets.

Actually, she was not being selfish. She was very worried about Su Bai’s safety. If such a clever person was captured, he would definitely be tortured to extract confessions.

That feeling was even more uncomfortable than death. Every day being forced to reveal the knowledge in his mind, just like a puppet on strings.

“It’s fine. It’s not truly telling them of our secrets. This is just bait.” Su Bai said confidently.

Of course he would not be stupid enough to tell others the Tribe’s secrets. He also knew many people were currently envious of the Flame Dragon Tribe.

At this time, he definitely wouldn’t provoke trouble. However, some rats still needed to be dealt with in advance.

“Shaman, what news should we spread?” Ye Jiu asked curiously.

She had actually breathed a sigh of relief, glad the Shaman hadn’t reached the point of madness. Otherwise, just dealing with those Tribes attacking the Tribe in the future would be very troublesome.

“Spread the news that the Flame Dragon Tribe is going to exchange goods with other Tribes. Set the location in the forest not far from our Tribe.”

Su Bai drank a mouthful of tea and continued, “Remember, you must say this is a very secret matter. Also spread the news that the time is set for deep in the night.”

He had only spoken of the plan, yet his mind could already imagine the scene.

“Should we send people out?” Ye Jiu asked.

“Of course. We also need to pretend we’re exchanging goods. Only this way can we arrest them with proper justification,” Su Bai’s thick black eyebrows raised slightly.

“I understand. I’ll spread the news today,” Ye Jiu suddenly felt the Shaman had a wicked sense of humour.

[Clearly, we can just arrest them directly, why must we put on this act?] Ye Jiu thought carefully and felt it was probably to draw out more rats.
