I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 869, The Backup Target

Translator: Silavin

The Poison Moth Tribe’s members were all terrified. This type of sound was far too familiar, so familiar that they were all afraid.

There was no other reason. Previously, every time this type of sound occurred, it meant that Ferocious Beasts were about to attack.

Everyone had already suffered through far too many Ferocious Beast attacks, so this time each person was extremely fearful.

“Are they coming again? Are they coming again? No way, didn’t we just experience one yesterday?”

“I only hope this time it’s a smaller type of Ferocious Beast, and even more hope it’s an easy-to-deal-with one.”

“Ah! I’ve already given up. How can anyone avoid such frequent attacks?”

“We’re not Totem Warriors or Warrior Trainees. We can’t even fight ordinary beasts, how are we supposed to fight against a Ferocious Beast?”

“Save us, the Chieftain must save us…”

Voices like these constantly emerged from the crowd. Everyone was truly too frightened.

If those Totem Warriors could truly provide protection, then those ordinary people would not be so panicked. Every time Ferocious Beasts attacked…

As long as they weren’t too difficult to deal with, those Totem Warriors would step forward to help resolve the situation. However, once they encountered a more troublesome one, the Totem Warriors fundamentally just stood back.

“Everyone hide behind the Warriors. Let’s first see what type of Ferocious Beast this is.” Zhen waved his hand. He felt it was time to have the Warriors start intervening. There weren’t many people remaining anymore.

To still have this many people meant these individuals’ stamina was still acceptable. They could not completely consign all their people to the Ferocious Beasts’ stomach.

Even if they wanted to annex other Small Tribes, they still needed manpower. Having those Warriors go annex another Tribes was not very realistic. If they couldn’t preserve these several hundred people now, they would have no way to annex the other Tribe.

The population of the other Tribe might be comparable to theirs. Although these ordinary people were not as formidable as the Warriors, they could still provide a deterrent effect through sheer numbers.

“Finally!” Everyone was no longer so tense.

This was the first time since leaving the Tribe and entering the forest that the Chieftain had ordered the Warriors to protect them.

*Rustle rustle…*

Waves of leaf-rustling sounds emerged. A group of people came through from the dense forest.

“Who are you?” Zhen was clearly taken aback.

However, seeing they were people, he breathed a slight sigh of relief. Even if the opposing side consisted of Warriors, he wouldn’t be afraid.

Because the opposing side’s numbers were not that numerous, only about twenty-plus people total. Whereas they had several hundred or so people.

“I’d like to ask you that. Why are so many people gathered here? There aren’t any Tribes nearby.” Kuang asked warily.

This group emerging from the undergrowth was from the Giant Bear Tribe. They were heading towards the Flame Dragon Tribe.

Still following their usual practice, travelling along familiar routes, they’d only suddenly sensed the presence of many people and came this way to take a look.

But what surprised them was that this group was truly too numerous, nearly equivalent to a Small Tribe.

“You’re going to the Spotted Deer Tribe to trade, correct?” Zhen did not want to start a conflict either.

Because the opposing side had several Totem Warriors who all looked extremely formidable, even though he was not afraid of them.

However, they had already been away from the Tribe for over ten days. His Warriors were already extremely fatigued. If they could avoid a battle, they should as much as possible.

“We’re going to the Flame Dragon Tribe to trade. But, you still haven’t answered my question.” Kuang was not afraid at all.

This was probably the confidence of a Large Tribe. He had already prepared himself for potential combat at any moment.

Because the people ahead made him feel extremely uncomfortable. He didn’t know the reason, but always felt these people were too peculiar.

“The rainy season is about to arrive. Our Tribe’s location isn’t good, so we’re just changing locations.” Zhen spoke without avoiding the main topic.

In any case, he had not stated the complete truth. Just some half-truths.

“I see. Then you’d better hurry, otherwise you’ll easily become a Wandering Tribe.” Kuang reminded them with disdain.

He could only wish these people good luck in his heart, because the rainy season was about to arrive. The heap of people before him numbered several hundred. Finding a truly suitable place to settle was not an easy matter.

However, he was also extremely grateful internally. Fortunately, he was born in a Large Tribe and grew up in a Large Tribe, so did not need to worry about such matters.

“As expected, Small Tribes are too small. They constantly have to worry about the rainy season.” Li muttered softly.

“You can tell those people are already extremely fatigued. Who knows if they can persist until reaching a new location.” Luo patted his large belly.

He did not care about these people’s final outcome. Right now, he only wanted to hurry to the Flame Dragon Tribe to eat.

“By the way, I’d like to ask, what Tribe is the Flame Dragon Tribe? Why are you going there to trade? How come I’ve never heard of this Tribe before?” Zhen asked.

After leaving the Tribe for over ten days, he had finally managed to speak with living people, and moreover had obtained a small clue.

The Poison Moth Tribe’s people were all extremely puzzled. Of course, what puzzled them was when another Market Tribe had appeared.

Clearly within this forest, the most famous Market Tribe was the Spotted Deer Tribe.

They had not heard of any other Tribe that had established another market. Even if some Tribe had opened a market, they couldn’t possibly not know about it.

“Go look for yourselves and you’ll know. The things inside are very worth trading. That’s all I can tell you.” Kuang paid them no further attention.

He turned and led the warriors to continue leaving. They needed to hurry to the Flame Dragon Tribe to trade. This was their final trading opportunity.

*Step step step…*

Zhen watched their departing backs, frowning as he muttered to himself. “The Flame Dragon Tribe? Perhaps in the end we can try our luck there?”

He was out of options. If they still couldn’t find a suitable Tribe before the rainy season arrived, he planned to ultimately try his luck at the Flame Dragon Tribe.

“You’re not thinking of going to the Flame Dragon Tribe, are you?” Shaman Wu stepped forward from the crowd.

He had already prepared his Shaman Technique, fearing the Giant Bear Tribe’s people would launch an attack.

“I’m not entirely certain, but if there’s ultimately no alternative, perhaps we’ll go there.” Zhen shook his head.

“Fine, then send people to follow first. This plan has truly gone awry.” Shaman Wu instructed.

Before leaving the Tribe, they had already made meticulous calculations. It was simply that their Human plans could not match that of Heaven’s plans.

“Understood.” Zhen turned his head, signalling two Warriors from behind to come forward.

He leaned close to the two Warriors’ ears, assigning their mission. Shortly after, the two people swiftly departed.

They closely followed behind the Giant Bear Tribe, just as a precaution.
