I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 799, Carpet Search

Yan Hua kept her head lowered while searching through the flower clusters for White Foot Six Legged Insects, yet she was reluctant to damage all those flowers completely.

Yan Hua’s searching speed was particularly swift. One moment she started searching from this side, and immediately afterwards she shifted to another position to continue looking.

Each time she searched for White Foot Six Legged Insects, her movements were exceptionally gentle, afraid she might damage those beautiful flowers.

Sha Lan was the same. When searching, she was also extraordinarily careful and cautious. Apart from wanting to find the White Foot Six Legged Insects more quickly, she also didn’t want to damage these beautiful flowers before her eyes, so her progress was not as fast as one might imagine.

Because Sha Lan searched particularly meticulously, not missing any area, afraid of overlooking some small details or such.

“Ah’Lan, quickly come over here and look. I’ve found them,” Yan Hua shouted excitedly.

Yan Hua had discovered two White Foot Six Legged Insects lying inside two enormous flowers. Their entire bodies were covered in pollen.

This flower’s pollen was pale yellow, so the pollen staining the White Foot Six Legged Insects’ bodies was also pale yellow.

“Really?” Sha Lan immediately ran over.

She leaned beside Yan Hua, looking at that flower. The two White Foot Six Legged Insects on it were particularly conspicuous.

Because this type of insect’s body size was originally quite large, and with their bodies covered in pale yellow pollen, they naturally attracted considerable attention.

“But, these two don’t look particularly large, and there isn’t much difference compared to ordinary White Foot Six Legged Insects.”

Yan Hua squinted her red eyes slightly and continued, “According to what Shaman said, these two insects aren’t the queen.”

When the young women departed, Su Bai had already taught them how to distinguish the queen. He said queens would have some differences from ordinary White Foot Six Legged Insects. Moreover, its size would also be considerably larger than ordinary White Foot Six Legged Insects, and its external characteristics would be different as well.

So, when searching for White Foot Six Legged Insects, as long as they found one whose appearance differed somewhat from the others, there was a high probability it was a queen.

“However, since White Foot Six Legged Insects have appeared here, that means their nest isn’t far from this location.” Sha Lan also recalled Su Bai’s words.

Besides teaching the girls how to distinguish the queen, Su Bai had naturally also taught them how to find the White Foot Six Legged Insects’ nest.

After all, they had brought quite a few boxes this time. The boxes definitely needed to contain the White Foot Six Legged Insects’ empty nest.

Only in this way could the queen inside attract the surrounding White Foot Six Legged Insects, and only this way could the boxes be brought back to the Flame Dragon Tribe.

“That’s right. Shaman said they don’t have wings, so they definitely won’t go to distant places to collect pollen. So, we just need to search nearby.”

Yan Hua recalled Su Bai’s words.

She was already getting somewhat impatient, wanting to quickly complete this mission for Shaman.

“It’s just that this flower field is so vast. Where should we search?” Sha Lan stood up, looking at the densely packed flower fields surrounding them.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to search. It was simply that this area was truly too large.

Even if White Foot Six Legged Insects couldn’t fly, it was still the same. With these two insects radiating outward from their current position, searching would still consume a lot of time.

“Didn’t Shaman say we should search for places with more concentrated White Foot Six Legged Insects? That way, we’ll be closer to their nest.” Yan Hua adjusted her long black hair.

Su Bai had taught the young women that when searching for White Foot Six Legged Insects’ nests, they must begin searching based on where the White Foot Six Legged Insects congregated most densely.

“Then let’s search quickly. I really don’t want to spend the night outside here.” Sha Lan immediately began searching.

Ever since Sha Lans moved into the Yong’an Building and became accustomed to living in cement houses. When assigned missions outside, their hearts could not help but miss that study and warm shelter.

Sleeping inside made them feel extraordinarily secure, without worrying that they might be attacked by Ferocious Beasts while sleeping.

“Alright.” Yan Hua also immediately began the carpet search.

The two of them searched with increasing enthusiasm. In no time, they’d found many places where White Foot Six Legged Insects congregated.

Sha Lans then followed the places where insects congregated most densely, searching towards the sides, wanting to try finding where their nest was located.

If they could find the White Foot Six Legged Insects’ nest now, their mission would basically be considered complete.

*Step step step…*

The two searched with lowered heads in the beautiful flower field. Their bodies had unknowingly absorbed various floral fragrances.

However, Yan Hua and her companion had not noticed that their bodies already carried a faint fragrance, and their bodies had also accumulated some pollen.

Particularly on their faces. Because they constantly had to bend down while searching, the pollen on their faces enhanced their already exquisite features even further.

“I’ve found it.” Sha Lan pointed at the crevice of a rock.

Sha Lan had originally wanted to rest properly against this rock, because this rock was also exceptionally large.

Its overall area reached two metres in height. The width was also approximately one metre. Most importantly, beside it was another rock of roughly equal size positioned adjacent to it.

Two rocks of similar size positioned together would naturally have some crevices exposed underneath.

The White Foot Six Legged Insects’ nest inside this crevice. From time to time, some White Foot Six Legged Insects would go in and out.

Although Sha Lan had not seen a genuine White Foot Six Legged Insects’ nest before, based on the scene before her eyes now, she could confirm this was their nest.

“Excellent. Let’s quickly drive away the insects inside. That way we can capture the queen.” Yan Hua urged.

Now that they’d finally discovered their nest, their mission was nearly complete.

“Alright.” Sha Lan nodded and began the operation.

However, she did not want to harm those insects, so every action was particularly gentle.

After Sha Lan had driven away all the small insects, the queen slowly crawled out from the nest.

As expected, the queen was indeed different. Its body size was more than double that of the other White Foot Six Legged Insects.

Moreover, its appearance was also different. This queen possessed a pair of tiny wings. Which were transparent and thin. They seemed as though they could easily be torn apart by rainwater.

These wings could only serve their purpose at critical moments. In short, for the White Foot Six Legged Insects’ colony to seek new habitation.

One must say, the White Foot Six Legged Insects’ system was a collective system. Everything operated under the queen’s command as the primary authority.

“Quickly place it in the box. Don’t frighten it too much.” Yan Hua quickly passed the large box over.

“Alright.” Sha Lan responded belatedly.
