I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 774, The Strange Her

Su Bai had systematically organized and tested numerous acids. An entire day had been devoted to this work.

However, the results proved disappointing. The full day concluded without success.

“Shaman, will you continue experimenting today?” Yu Ying enquired curiously.

“Not today. It is getting late. ” Su Bai replied softly.

Darkness had descended. Other matters required his attention too. So, he temporarily preferred not to spend all his time in the laboratory.

Today’s Taming Shaman Bone Tablets and Curing Skill Shaman Bone Tablets had not been produced. Delaying it any further would mean wasting his daily quota.

“Understood.” Yu Ying turned away to attend to other matters.

Time continued to flow and the Flame Dragon Tribe welcomed a new day, with activity resuming throughout the Tribe.

Upon waking up, Su Bai checked in with the System.

Today’s reward was a large carpet.

Observing the carpet’s sudden appearance on the floor, his eyebrows arched slightly. “Wow. This is big.”

The System had provided carpets previously, though none of such large dimensions.

“This should be placed in the living room, beneath the tables and chairs. It will be most beautiful there.” Su Bai stated calmly.

*Creak!*

He left the room, instructing personnel to position the carpet as specified, then prepared to eat breakfast.

However, before even taking a bite, Su Bai detected clamorous sounds from the outside. It was loud enough to reach him on the second floor.

He glanced towards the floor-to-ceiling window, and asked, “What’s happening outside? Why is it so noisy?”

Since assuming leadership of the Flame Dragon Tribe, he had never witnessed such uproar within the Tribe.

“I don’t know. I’ll dispatch someone to investigate immediately.” Yu Ying promptly set down her cutlery.

It was so early in the morning. They barely had eaten breakfast, yet this disturbance arose. Furthermore, what happened remained unknown.

Just as Yu Ying turned to make arrangements, footsteps ascended from the first floor.

*Step step step…* Urgent footsteps sounded. Yan Jiao hastily ascended to the second floor, then entered the living room.

“What’s happening outside? Why are you in such a rush?” Su Bai enquired curiously.

He had not seen the Chieftain in such a state in a long time. Evidently, something serious had occurred outside.

“Shaman, we’ve apprehended someone from an unknown Tribe.” Yan Jiao stated seriously.

“Someone from an unknown Tribe? So, they could not sit still any longer, huh?” Su Bai rose to his feet.

He strode to the study and seated himself, gesturing for the other to sit as well.

“We are still investigating. We questioned her, but she refuses to speak, though her expression continues to be fierce.” Yan Jiao shook his head.

He only knew her attire differed significantly from the Flame Dragon Tribe and all other Tribes he recognized. It clearly indicates she was from some unknown Tribe.

“How many of them in total? Is this person a Warrior?” Su Bai enquired seriously.

“Only one, a female Totem Warrior. What she wears is really unusual…” Yan Jiao described the characteristics in detail.

Su Bai frowned, enquiring doubtfully, “Are you sure she has no accomplices? Or did you only apprehend one person?”

This seemed rather impractical. Attacking another Tribe alone was highly unlikely.

Moreover, she had been captured, suggesting she was too careless, particularly for a Totem Warrior.

“We conducted an extensive investigation. No other individuals were detected near her, though we are still investigating. Anything that comes up will be reported as soon as possible.” Yan Jiao stated gravely.

As Flame Dragon Tribe’s Chieftain, he understood how to arrange such matters. Once that incident occurred, he had immediately ordered the area surrounding the Flame Dragon Tribe secured.

Subsequently, personnel were dispatched to search the vicinity, ensuring she had no accomplices waiting outside.

“Excellent work. So, she was deliberately captured?” Su Bai enquired curiously.

According to the Chieftain’s account, she had likely arrived alone.

In that case, what motivated her? Why was she captured so easily?

“That’s not it. She inadvertently made a lot of noise, leading to her capture.” Yan Jiao shook his head.

Su Bai accepted the tea Yu Ying offered, sighing with relief. “It’s fortunate she wasn’t deliberately captured. Otherwise, her goals would truly be disturbing to think about…”

“Initially, I was worried about how she was so easily apprehended. Later, I discovered she simply had nowhere to hide.” Yan Jiao explained.

“Explain?” Su Bai sipped his tea.

Yan Jiao declined the tea Yu Ying offered, continuing, “When our patrolling Warriors heard sounds and responded, they discovered her, continuously searching for places to hide…”

Upon hearing the Warriors’ account, he could mentally reconstruct what happened in his mind.

Currently, cement houses were under construction throughout the Tribe, with all surrounding areas enclosed by Animal Hide, dried grass, and similar materials.

Only a single small entrance was allowed, and it was guarded by people.

All other locations would be equally hard to hide in. The wooden houses were fully occupied, and people constantly moved about around the Tribe.

With continuous foot traffic and patrol teams operating from morning until evening, there was simply no space for someone unknown to hide themselves in.

Upon entering through the main gate, any non-Flame Dragon Tribe member would be easily identified. Attempting anything foolish would be close to impossible. Their stringent security had been implemented during the preparations for establishing the Central Market.

“Maybe she is just here to trade?” Su Bai worried whether the Tribe had overreacted.

Yan Jiao shook his head unhesitatingly, stating, “We’ve already questioned her. She is carrying nothing. Although she refuses to speak, it is clear she is not here to trade.”

The Chieftain had observed her eyes. Those malevolent eyes do not belong to someone just here to trade.

Even if trading, surely she would carry something? How could she come completely empty-handed?

“Where is she right now?” Su Bai set down his tea cup.

He felt curious about this person, who dared approach the Flame Dragon Tribe alone. She certainly showed a tone of courage.

If she had arrived alone to trade, that would be understandable. But, since trading was not her goal, perhaps she was merely curious about the Flame Dragon Tribe?

“She’s been confined and placed under watch. I’ve come to ask for the Shaman’s instructions.” Yan Jiao immediately responded.

“Take me to see her.” Su Bai declared.

Such an unusual person certainly warranted his personal attention.
