I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 794, Impulsive Temperament

After Yan Jiao departed from the Yong’an Building, he walked towards where the Warriors were training.

He waved at Lee Yun and Zen, who were in the midst of training, saying, “You two come with me first.”

The sound of footsteps approached.

Lee Yun and Zen both froze momentarily, then regained their composure, set down their weapons and ran over.

Both were drenched in sweat. They had been training for an extended period today, and the Sun overhead happened to be particularly intense.

“Chieftain, what do you need from us?” Lee Yun spoke first. She stood around one hundred and sixty-five centimetres tall, her red hair quite striking, her round red eyes equally prominent.

Lee Yun’s nose was quite prominent, her face dotted with freckles, her face so small it resembled a palm-sized face. The two pairs of transparent dragonfly wings behind her were quite beautiful, the contrast between the larger and smaller pairs quite obvious.

She wore linen clothing, recently distributed by Su Bai to the Warrior Trainees.

Current Warrior Trainees all received linen distributions. Totem Warriors received even more.

Ordinary people had it rough. They could only obtain linen through abundant work contributions, or by making significant contributions.

Zen also nodded. He likewise wore linen clothing, the sparrow wings on his back quite petite.

However, they suited his round face perfectly. His large orange eyes combined with the small scar on his forehead made him resemble a rather boisterous child.

“There’s a new mission for you two.” Yan Jiao said seriously.

“A new mission? This is our first mission!” Lee Yun’s red eyes immediately widened.

Since awakening as Warrior Trainees, they had never executed any missions until now.

Every day consisted entirely of training within the Tribe. Besides training, they mastered various hunting techniques.

“Chieftain, are you having us eliminate another Tribe?” Zen also grew excited.

Nothing made Warriors happier than missions. If anything did, it would be two missions.

“No, but this mission is extremely important. It concerns our Flame Dragon Tribe’s survival.” Yan Jiao said seriously.

He was not deliberately speaking so seriously. The mission genuinely was extremely important.

If they could detect another Tribe’s attack route in advance, the Flame Dragon Tribe would have considerably more preparation time.

Everything required advance preparation. Proper preparation could prevent many dangers, particularly during wartime.

“Concerns the Tribe’s survival?” Lee Yun’s excitement immediately transformed into nervousness.

They had only recently awakened as Warrior Trainees and the first mission they received carried such weighty implications.

“Chieftain, can we two truly handle this mission?” Zen also froze.

“Chieftain, will only we two be executing this mission? I’m afraid we might botch it, which would be problematic.” Lee Yun said worriedly.

Though the dragonfly girl eagerly anticipated missions, hearing the mission details made her nervous.

If she were a Totem Warrior, she absolutely would not worry. But having only recently awakened as a Warrior Trainee, becoming a Totem Warrior still required considerable time.

“Chieftain, could you dispatch several more Totem Warriors with us? That way we’d feel more secure.” Zen also worried considerably.

Mainly, these two had previously experienced the Black Snake Tribe’s attack, so they felt somewhat anxious internally.

They felt this Tribe, finally reclaimed with such difficulty, couldn’t be easily surrendered again. But if only the two of them went, problems could easily emerge.

Because amongst all Warrior Trainees, neither of them excelled. Though neither were they the worst, their abilities remained merely average.

This was precisely why, after hearing the mission details, both felt apprehensive.

“Relax. This time, you won’t be directly confronting people from other Tribes.” Yan Jiao raised his hand in a calming gesture.

He felt cold sweat trickling down now. He clearly had not finished speaking, yet they’d already said several sentences.

“But didn’t the Chieftain just say this mission concerns our Tribe’s survival?” Lee Yun asked, puzzled.

“Chieftain, if you’re only having us do patrol work, we can probably manage. But if you’re sending us to war now, I’m afraid we don’t have the confidence to fight.” Zen analysed seriously.

Neither feared warfare with other Tribes. The issue was that currently only the two of them were involved.

Moreover, this mission concerned the Flame Dragon Tribe’s survival. Neither felt particularly confident about victory.

Though receiving their first mission after becoming Warriors made them happy, they simultaneously worried considerably. They didn’t want the Flame Dragon Tribe lost again because of them.

“Ha ha ha ha! You two still haven’t changed your temperaments.” Yan Jiao laughed heartily, continuing: “This mission is just patrol work.”

Precisely because of this, he regarded both highly. Neither had rashly accepted this incompletely understood mission through false bravado.

This demonstrated both genuinely prioritised the Tribe’s safety. The only flaw was that neither had let him finish speaking.

“Patrol work? If that’s the case, we guarantee outstanding completion.” Lee Yun straightened her posture.

The dragonfly girl’s temperament was extremely impulsive. Sometimes she assumed things before others finished speaking.

This personality caused numerous misunderstandings. The sparrow youth was the same though, much to the Chieftain’s sorrow.

“Chieftain, should we continue patrolling around the Tribe’s perimeter? Isn’t this what we’ve been doing already?” Zen asked curiously.

After becoming Warrior Trainees, they’d already performed patrol work numerous times, circling the skies surrounding the Tribe.

“Of course not. This time requires you to venture out a lot farther.” Yan Jiao shook his head.

“Chieftain, is another Tribe planning to attack our Tribe?” Lee Yun suddenly worried.

“Chieftain, so this time we need to patrol very far away, correct?” Zen immediately interjected.

Though both had extremely impulsive temperaments, they got along exceptionally well, partly because both were orphans.

They had grown up alongside Yan Hua since childhood. Yan Hua regarded both as her younger siblings.

Though Yan Hua was merely one year older than them, her sense of ‘Sisterly’ responsibility remained quite strong.

“Precisely. This time requires patrolling beyond two days’ distance from the Tribe.” Yan Jiao nodded.

He felt grateful they’d finally stopped interrupting and could comprehend his meaning.

“Leave it to us. We’ll definitely monitor all suspicious activities carefully.” Lee Yun said seriously.

“Someone will accompany you.” Yan Jiao said seriously.
