I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 768, One Must Not Be Too Greedy

Translator: Silavin

Quite a few people from the Sea Fish Tribe had all gathered at the seaside. They seemed to be waiting for something.

Everyone kept standing on tiptoes looking towards the direction of the distant sea. Each person’s expression seemed very anxious.

Co Co was also amongst this group of people. Her short golden hair kept being tousled by the sea breeze.

Fortunately, her golden floor-length hair had already been cut short. Otherwise, it would now be blown into even greater disarray.

Her golden eyes remained wide open, gazing in the direction of the distant sea.

“Can we really wait for it? Is it really today?” Ji An asked curiously.

He had also received the news early in the morning and rushed out. However, after waiting all morning, he had not seen anything.

“It is today, no mistake. The letter stated it would be today.” Co Co’s face was full of conviction.

That was right, there was a letter that had been sent from the Flame Dragon Tribe. The messenger delivering the letter was those birds.

The carrier pigeons had been trained for a very long time and had been directly renamed carrier pigeons.

The Flame Dragon Tribe, following the previous method of training carrier pigeons, had been training this batch of carrier pigeons. Travelling between these two Tribes was not difficult at all for them.

Now, whenever Su Bai had matters to instruct the Sea Fish Tribe about, everything relied on the carrier pigeons. With the carrier pigeons, transmitting information between the two locations was extremely convenient.

Of course, only the Flame Dragon Tribe could transmit information to the Sea Fish Tribe. However, everything written consisted of simple characters.

These characters had all been taught to Co Co before. In other words, only she could understand these characters.

However, it was difficult for Co Co to write letters back to the Flame Dragon Tribe. After all, she still could not write many characters. What she could write were all simple characters.

“Will ships really come? Could it be that they’re deceiving us?” Ji An was somewhat sceptical.

He did not understand the Flame Dragon Tribe. From birth until now, he had always grown up in the Sea Fish Tribe. He did not believe that the other party would send ships over from such a great distance.

Moreover, he also did not know what ships were. He only knew that this was something that could travel on the surface of the sea.

The reason he had followed along today was because he was extraordinarily curious. Curious about what this thing actually looked like. Curious whether this thing could truly float on water.

Because what Co Co had explained to him was that this was like a wooden raft, which could be used by the Sea Fish Tribe for fishing and the like.

“The Shaman would not deceive people. Since he said he would send us ships, he definitely will.” Co Co’s tone was particularly resolute.

Although Co Co had not stayed at the Flame Dragon Tribe for an especially long time, the place she stayed for extended periods was always at the Yong’an Building.

She could also see the Shaman every time she ate. She knew the Shaman was absolutely not that kind of person.

“However, what exactly are ships? Why would they send us ships?” Ji An was somewhat puzzled.

Out of nowhere, they were saying they would send ships to the Sea Fish Tribe. Moreover, they said this thing was particularly good and could greatly help the Sea Fish Tribe develop.

“You’ll know when it arrives. The Shaman said we can ride these ships out to sea to fish.” Co Co’s gaze was not looking at others but was fixedly staring at the water surface.

The letter stated that the ships being sent were all small ships. In other words, small ships that could seat one or two people to go out to sea fishing.

This time, a total of eight small ships were being sent over, all placed on a large ship for transport.

Precisely because of this, Co Co and the others were standing at the seaside waiting for that large ship to arrive.

“But don’t we already have wooden rafts? Why go to such unnecessary trouble?” Ji An was somewhat disdainful.

“Last time, Ah’Lan said that ships are much better than wooden rafts. They won’t easily capsize or fall apart. They provide very good protection for our lives.” Co Co explained.

This explanation came from when Sha Lan had come last time. She had seen that large ship and asked about it.

Co Co had been particularly interested when she saw that large ship. The massive hull made it impossible for her eyes to leave it.

What was most special was that this ship was steadily and firmly stopped on the water surface. At the time, she had been somewhat curious about this ship.

So she had asked many, many questions, thinking to herself that she had left the Flame Dragon Tribe too quickly and could not personally witness such wonderful things.

However, inwardly she also began to admire the Flame Dragon Tribe and felt that following it was not a mistake.

“How many wooden ships are they giving us this time then? You should know that our Tribe has many people who go out to sea.” Ji An also stood on tiptoes looking at the water surface.

A total of over a dozen people were standing at the seaside waiting for the ship to arrive. These dozen or so people all harboured prejudice against the Flame Dragon Tribe.

The reason they wanted to follow along, and look was because they wanted to see what exactly the Flame Dragon Tribe was up to now.

“You’ll know when it arrives. In any case, the Shaman has his own considerations. In short, we should be grateful that he’s willing to help our Tribe.” Co Co did not bother with them.

In any case, no matter how much she spoke with these people, it would be like playing a lute to a cow. It would be better to let them personally witness these things with their own eyes.

*Splash splash…*

From far away, they could hear something sliding across the water surface. On the distant horizon, they saw a tiny black dot.

As the black dot slowly advanced, it also began to grow larger. Time passed second by second, and the black dot gradually became clearer.

Coming into view was the outline of a large ship, along with its tall mast and spacious sail.

That was right, this ship was sailing over from their allied Tribe. Many people were standing on the ship’s deck.

“Look quickly, the ship has already come. I told you the Shaman would not deceive us.” Co Co said excitedly.

It had been a very, very long time since she had returned to the Flame Dragon Tribe. Now, as long as she saw anything related to the Flame Dragon Tribe, she would become very excited.

“This is the ship you said they would give us?” Ji An also widened his eyes.

When the ship had come last time, he had not seen it. He had only heard about it vaguely in the Tribe, so he was particularly curious about this ship’s arrival.

Not looking would have been fine, but one look truly startled him. This ship was really too large, much larger than the wooden rafts they usually used to go out to sea.

“Not this one. The Shaman said the ships he’s giving us are relatively small. Only in the future might he possibly give us larger ships.” Co Co shook her head.

Co Co certainly very much hoped the Sea Fish Tribe could also have this large ship. However, the Tribe was currently in its developmental stage. Being able to have small ships was already very good.

“Ah! It’s not this one? I thought he was giving us this one.” Ji An pursed his lips.

He had initially thought this large ship was for the Sea Fish Tribe, so his mood had instantly become excited. Now it was like having a bucket of cold water poured over him.

“One must not be too greedy. Our Tribe needs to take things slowly.” Co Co said seriously.

She also knew the principle that one cannot become fat in a single bite. The Sea Fish Tribe being able to return was already very good.

“I understand.” Ji An kept staring unblinkingly at that large ship.
