I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 746, Complicated Rules

Translator: Silavin

Sha Lan was terribly nervous. It was for no other reason than that Yan Hua had hit upon the truth.

She was instantly embarrassed beyond measure. Her blue eyes darted about unnaturally as she explained, “You really are overthinking it. I just… I just think the Shaman is very capable.”

Sha Lan regretted her words as soon as she spoke them. What sort of explanation was this? Even she herself felt embarrassed hearing it.

Who did not know of the Shaman’s capabilities? Moreover, to lead the Tribe to become like this was very difficult.

Even without Sha Lan saying these things, everyone respected the Shaman greatly. To suddenly explain it like this was clearly suspicious.

“I was just saying it casually. Look at how nervous you are. I can imagine you have definitely been affected by what I said.” Yan Hua smiled.

She trusted her own intuition very much, because she also liked the Shaman. She could sense what the feeling of liking the Shaman was like.

When Yan Hua looked at Sha Lan, it was like looking at herself. The other person’s feelings towards the Shaman were the same as her own feelings towards the Shaman.

“Do you dare say you do not like the Shaman?” Sha Lan did not want to explain anymore either. Those explanations just now were foolish enough.

If she continued speaking, she would only make more mistakes the more she said. It was better to shut up and say nothing.

Yan Hua was somewhat taken aback. She had not expected the other person to turn the question back on her. She awkwardly kept scanning the surrounding environment.

She deliberated for quite a while before explaining, “I do not like the Shaman. Right now, I am single-mindedly focused only on defending the Tribe. I do not want to think about it so much.”

When Yan Hua spoke these words, she also felt somewhat regretful. Explaining it so deliberately made people suspicious instead. As the saying goes, too much was as bad as too little.

“Do you believe your own words? Even I feel embarrassed just listening to it.” Sha Lan swished her cat tail.

Sha Lan, seeing the other person’s expression before she even answered, was even more certain of her own thoughts. Yan Hua definitely also liked the Shaman.

“Enough. Do not talk so much nonsense. You had better hurry up, otherwise the one who wins in the end will be me.” Yan Hua was running somewhat ahead.

Sha Lan had just been thinking about some excuses, so her actions had clearly been more sluggish.

“I will not lose.” Sha Lan closely followed up.

She saw that Yan Hua had stopped talking about it, so she herself did not want to continue this topic either.

*Step step step…*

The two spent half an hour arriving at that large tree in the forest. This large tree was not actually the largest in the forest.

It was just the largest in this part of the forest and was also a base for the Flame Dragon Tribe’s Totem Warriors during training.

Each time there was a forest run exercise, this large tree was the endpoint for the Warriors.

“Who told you to lose focus? Now you have lost to me, have you not?” Yan Hua clapped her hands together. She had just punched the tree trunk with one fist.

Yan Hua had won this training competition. However, she won by the slimmest of margins. She had very nearly been beaten by Sha Lan.

“If you had not suddenly asked me that question, how could I have lost?” Sha Lan also clapped her hands.

Sha Lan had followed right after, just when Yan Hua had struck it with her fist.

“That is because you felt guilty. If you had not felt guilty, you could not possibly have lost focus.” Yan Hua continued to tease.

Looking at the other person’s blushing appearance was truly adorable. However, she also felt understanding. Who did not like the Shaman?

“I think the Shaman likes you though.” Sha Lan suddenly said seriously.

Yan Hua, seeing Sha Lan’s rare seriousness, was taken aback for a moment before shaking her head. “You are overthinking it. The Shaman likes you.”

Yan Hua had not expected the other person to ask this question. However, the answer to this question was also quite obvious.

She just felt that the Shaman rather liked Sha Lan. Otherwise, it would be impossible for him to let her be a Shaman Priestess. Moreover, there was so much work entrusted to her to do. One could imagine how much he valued her.

If the Shaman did not like Sha Lan, then just being a Shaman Priestess would be enough. Why would she need to do so many things?

Most importantly, many important matters were all entrusted to Sha Lan to handle. This was sufficient to prove her significance in the Shaman’s heart.

However, she herself was different. She was just a Totem Warrior. She could not help the Shaman with anything, so she felt the Shaman liked Sha Lan more.

“That is not true. It is just that my memory happens to be rather good. This can help the Shaman, so the Shaman arranged for me to do some things.” Sha Lan fiddled with her blue long hair and continued, “Every time the Shaman looks at you, his gaze is different. Whatever good things there are, he also gives it to you first.”

Sha Lan was not jealous or resentful. She just felt that from this point alone, one could see that the Shaman rather liked Yan Hua. Although she herself also obtained the same things as Yan Hua afterwards, the order was different. From this point alone, one could see it.

“Perhaps it is because I am single-mindedly focused on becoming a Totem Warrior, so the Shaman thought of me.” Yan Hua explained.

She was afraid her good friend would misunderstand, because she knew that Sha Lan also liked the Shaman.

“Ha ha ha ha…” Sha Lan covered her mouth and laughed especially gently. She asked, “Why are the two of us chatting about these things here?”

Sha Lan suddenly became belatedly aware. Were the two of them not competing at something? Why had they suddenly started chatting about this topic again?

“You are right. The Shaman could not possibly marry us.” Yan Hua suddenly laughed very helplessly.

“No, you are wrong. The Shaman could not possibly marry me. The Shaman will definitely marry you.” Sha Lan shook her head.

Perhaps it was because of the Tribe’s rules.

The Shaman’s wife also had to be carefully selected. After all, they had to consider whether the generation’s Successor.

They had to select an excellent woman to unite with the Shaman. Only then would the children born have the possibility of being strong.

Only this way would there be a greater possibility of becoming the Tribe’s Successor, because finding a Successor was not easy.

Even if a Successor was found, whether the Successor could become the Tribe’s Shaman was another matter.

Therefore, all others could marry and have children casually. Only the Tribe’s Shaman had it difficult.

“The Shaman is very conscious of you. You should be clear about this point.” Yan Hua immediately said.

She knew what Sha Lan was saying, and could also see the dimness flowing in those blue eyes of hers.

The rules of Primitive Tribes were just like this: numerous, complicated, and the rules had to be firmly followed.

“I know the Shaman treats us very well and does not regard us as servants. It is just that the rules are as such.” Sha Lan waved her hand.

Sha Lan had always hidden her feelings. She always felt she was not quite worthy.

“Anyway, I think you are overthinking it. Our Shaman is different. He is very, very different.” Yan Hua’s tone was exceptionally animated.

“Enough.” Sha Lan smiled slightly, not wanting to say more.

Silavin: The Author just changed it such that Shaman Priestesses are just a Shaman’s helper. That they are not allowed to marry the Shaman. Doesn’t make sense since the earlier chaps mentioned the opposite. Anyways, I’ve removed those parts.
