I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 720, Don’t Underestimate It

*Splash splash…* In the early morning hours, the ship continued sailing across the river surface, with Yan Hua standing on the deck as usual.

She kept blinking her red eyes as she observed the situation ahead, not daring to slack off in the slightest.

Who knew if something might happen at this very moment? It was always best to remain cautious.

“How much longer until we can return?” Sha Lan asked curiously.

Sha Lan was the same, her blue eyes constantly fixed on the river surface, her expression becoming particularly solemn.

“I don’t know. We’ll find out when Ai’er returns. Based on the previous timing, it shouldn’t take much longer, right?” Yan Hua speculated.

Last time they had travelled there, it had only taken just over three days, and today was already the fourth day.

If they followed the same timeframe as last time, they would have reached the Flame Dragon Tribe around midday or in the afternoon.

“Based on the timing, that is…” Sha Lan breathed a sigh of relief.

Sha Lan was starting to miss the cement houses of the Flame Dragon Tribe, and she also missed her own bed and quilts.

“But I hadn’t expected that it would only take just over three days to reach the Sea Fish Tribe. I thought it would take longer.” Yan Hua suddenly said.

The more she thought about it, the more impressed she became. She could not help but admire the brilliance of the transportation vehicle invented by the Shaman.

Without this ship, reaching the Sea Fish Tribe would not just require three days. Relying solely on walking, it would take around ten days.

Moreover, if walking, the danger level was far greater than travelling by ship. Some people might even be devoured by Ferocious Beasts within just a few days of setting out.

Even if that person was lucky enough to escape pursuit by Ferocious Beasts, the forest was unpredictable. No one knew what might happen.

Those who entered the forest often did not die in the jaws of Ferocious Beasts, but rather from various strange things within the forest.

“If we didn’t have this ship, we’d just have to take the hot air balloon.” Sha Lan spoke up.

“I think hot air balloons are dangerous. If the balloon accidentally burst, we’d probably be finished.” Yan Hua looked up at the sky.

“Yes, but travelling by ship isn’t very safe either. The things hanging from the ship’s sides need to be constantly changed.” Sha Lan frowned.

The plants hanging beside the ship needed to be constantly changed. Once they lost their scent, they had to be replaced. Otherwise, hanging them on the ship would have no effect, and the Ferocious Beasts in the river would start becoming restless.

*Screech—*

The Peak Eagle slowly flew down from high altitude, its massive wings beating powerfully.

Yan Hua looked up but did not extend her hand, merely watching as Peak Eagle landed on the railing.

She could no longer extend her hand for Peak Eagle to perch on. It was simply too large now.

If Ah Hen perched on her hand, her hand would probably break. It had grown too quickly, and its current size was twice what it had been before.

“Looks like you’ve eaten your fill again.” Yan Hua stroked its head.

*Screech—* Peak Eagle called out loudly, its wings flapping as well, looking extremely pleased.

“Come back earlier next time. Don’t fly off too far.” Yan Hua instructed.

Otherwise, she would worry. Whenever it left, it would be gone for ages, and no one knew what had happened.

*Screech—* Peak Eagle seemed to understand, flapping its wings, its brown eyes particularly bright and alert.

*Splash splash…* The river began showing signs of movement again, the sounds sometimes heavy, sometimes light, making it impossible to pinpoint where they were coming from.

*Screech—*

*Flap flap flap flap…*

Ah Hen also noticed the abnormality, immediately calling out loudly, its wings continuously flapping.

“Everyone be careful, another Ferocious Beast has appeared.” Yan Hua became alert.

“What will it be this time?” Sha Lan and Yan Hua stood back-to-back, neither willing to expose their backs to the enemy.

Yan Hua brandished the military knife in her hand, her red eyes particularly serious, preparing to deal with the Ferocious Beast in the river.

She brushed aside her long black hair and said, “I don’t know what Ferocious Beast it is. From the sound, it doesn’t seem to be very large.”

“Yes, the water flow disturbance is very small this time. It should be a small one.” Sha Lan also speculated.

She mustered her courage and began walking towards the railing, the Crocodile Blade in her hand at the ready.

*Step step step…* Sha Lan leaned against the railing and looked towards the water surface, seeing only a small water bubble rising on the surface.

She widened her blue eyes and spoke. “It doesn’t seem to be a Ferocious Beast. I can’t sense any killing intent.”

“Let me see.” Yan Hua also came over, though she didn’t lower the military knife in her hand.

*Screech—* Peak Eagle suddenly took flight, continuously flapping its wings as it flew towards that raised water bubble.

*Splash splash…* Peak Eagle made a fierce dive, extending its talons towards that raised water bubble, fiercely grasping and flying upwards.

*Thud!* It exerted force and flung whatever its talons had caught onto the deck with great strength.

*Crash!* The wild beast on the deck kept thrashing about, its body continuously slapping against the deck.

“Ah Hen, well done!” Yan Hua looked up to encourage Peak Eagle.

Sha Lan furrowed her brow, carefully examining the wild beast that had been caught.

She blinked her blue eyes and asked in confusion. “What is this? I’ve never seen one before.”

Sha Lan plucked up courage and walked towards the wild beast, her steps extremely cautious.

The wild beast was entirely pale blue, its appearance very much like the otters from Earth, except this wild beast looked even more adorable.

A pair of large front teeth was particularly prominent, and a pair of black eyes were particularly bright and alert, just like the face of an innocent child.

“Yes, but it looks so cute!” Yan Hua also felt it was very strange.

The two of them kept approaching the wild beast, holding each other’s hands, afraid that the wild beast might make some strange move.

*Step step step…*

Long heard the commotion and emerged from the cabin, immediately spotting the wild beast on the deck.

He widened his eyes in amazement as he looked, exclaiming in shock. “Isn’t that a Water Beaver?”

“Water Beaver?” Sha Lan turned around in confusion. It was the first time she had heard this name.

“What a strange name. I’ve never seen one before, but it’s very cute.” Yan Hua’s gaze remained on the wild beast.

“This Ferocious Beast is very rare. Almost no one has ever seen one before. I didn’t expect it to appear here.” Long was extremely surprised.

The way he looked at it was as if he were looking at a treasure, making the precious nature of this Ferocious Beast quite obvious.

“Is it very powerful? Or what?” Yan Hua asked curiously.

“It looks like it would be something good to hug.” Sha Lan truly found it very adorable.

“No, it’s formidably strong. You can’t approach it carelessly.” Long shook his head repeatedly.

Sha Lan tilted her head and asked in confusion. “It’s strong? But it looks so cute.”

“Don’t underestimate it!” Long warned.
