I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 742, River Expedition Team?

“Shaman, this is already very little time.” Long became a bit nervous.

He thought the Shaman was enraged by the given timing. But such a timespan was already very rushed. There was no way to shorten it further. If it was forcibly shortened, he feared the quality of the ship built would not pass the standards and could not sail for very long.

“No need to be nervous. I’m not blaming you for anything.” Su Bai raised his hand and pressed down, seeing the other party suddenly become very tense.

“Shaman, do you have some other arrangement? If there could be more people to help build ships, I should be able to free up more time to build large ships.” Long immediately said.

Although his assistants had followed him for a long time, they still did not quite understand how to craft the large ships and such.

However, having them make some small boats was no problem. In the meantime, he could concentrate on making large ships.

But this way, he would have no assistants, and when making large ships there would be limitations.

“I can arrange more manpower to help you, but it will take a day or two to make the selections.” Su Bai said softly.

After all, the work inside the docks was confidential. They could not casually let others know. The people selected to be sent to the docks must be trustworthy. Otherwise, the Flame Dragon Tribe’s secrets would be leaked.

“Thank you, Shaman. As long as there are people, time is not a problem.” Long immediately said.

He did not care how long it would take. As long as there were people to help, otherwise he really would be rushed off his feet.

Now the people of the Tribe all habitually said hello when meeting or greeted each other. They also said words like sorry and thank you.

The Tribe was no longer like before with their barbaric behaviour, and everyone quite liked the current state and liked these fresh new words.

“You just concentrate on making the large ships. However, this time I want an even larger ship.” Su Bai said seriously.

He had planned this long ago. The Tribe must have a very large ship. The previous one was only thirty metres large.

On Earth that would still be considered a small boat. It could not be put to much use at all. It was truly limited in its capacity to carry people and goods.

“An even larger ship?” Long’s eyes shone with light upon hearing this. His heart immediately became excited.

Ever since building the large ship, his heart had always yearned to build a second one. Now hearing about building an even larger ship, his heart could not be more excited.

“Eb. This time I want a fifty-metre large ship. Do you have confidence you can build it?” Su Bai asked.

What he originally conceived was a hundred-metre large ship. It was just that building a hundred-metre large ship now was a bit too forced.

He would wait until shipbuilding technology got more mature, then he would try building a hundred-metre large ship.

For now, better to build a fifty-metre large ship first. If a fifty-metre large ship could be built, then they could try a hundred-metre ship.

“A fifty-metre large ship? Shaman, how much bigger is it from the one I built before?” Long asked with wide eyes.

Primitive Tribes had no concept of units of measurement. Thirty metres, fifty metres were all very unfamiliar to them.

If Su Bai had not promoted units of measurement some time ago, everyone would still be relying on manual measurement.

The disadvantage of manual measurement was that it was prone to errors. So Long had no great concept of fifty metres. He just knew that from the numbers learned recently, five was bigger than three.

“It’s about twice as big. Do you have confidence you can build it?” Su Bai still asked this question.

Because he wanted to see if the other party had confidence. Where there’s a will there’s a way. If the other party had no confidence, he feared building a fifty-metre large ship would be delayed for a very long time.

“Of course I have the confidence to do it. I will definitely be able to build the large ship.” Long responded without hesitation.

“That’s good. Now have your subordinates make more of these small boats. I’ll need them soon enough.” Su Bai instructed.

“Yes.” Long immediately nodded.

*Step step step…*

Su Bai walked around inside the docks for a while. After more than ten minutes he left the docks.

“Shaman, you just said to make more small boats. Are you going to send them all to the Sea Fish Tribe?” Sha Lan asked curiously.

Because Sha Lan had heard before that if small boats were built, they would be of great help to the Sea Fish Tribe.

“Not entirely. We definitely need to distribute some to the Sea Fish Tribe, but our Tribe is equally important.” Su Bai smiled.

“Does the Shaman want us to start fishing too?” Sha Lan asked, tilting her head.

“No. I want to form a team. This team will be the River Expedition Team.” Su Bai’s lips curved up slightly.

He had planned this in his heart long ago, that a River Expedition Team would be formed. Relying only on large ships would not work.

Large ships were too overt, easy to expose their position. Most importantly, large ships could not be built whenever one wanted.

Building large ships took a very long time. Building small boats could save quite a bit of time and would also be more convenient for those people to go out exploring.

“River Expedition Team?” The three girls asked in unison.

They all looked at each other. This was the first time they had heard this term, though they could understand it.

It was just that they had never heard the Shaman mention this before. Why suddenly form an expedition team?

“En. We don’t know what’s on the other side of the river. Of course, using small boats to cross to the other side of the river to explore is definitely not realistic.”

Su Bai stepped onto the carriage and continued. “What I want is to have this expedition team explore the environment around us.”

He knew nothing at all about the surroundings of the Flame Dragon Tribe. Although people had ridden hot air balloons and flown around above.

But they had only roughly looked around from above. They had not actually landed on the ground to look.

The River Expedition Team would be different. They could personally go to the surroundings to investigate. This way they could more accurately obtain information about the Flame Dragon Tribe’s surroundings.

“Shaman, can I participate?” Yan Hua immediately asked after hearing this.

Yan Hua absolutely could not miss such an interesting activity. It would be strange if she did not sign up.

“Hahaha. I knew you would be very interested after hearing about it.” Su Bai laughed heartily and continued. “This is just an idea. The specific implementation still needs to be considered.”

This was not a simple matter. He must consider the safety of those Warriors.

After all, small boats were not like the large ships. As long as they travelled on the river surface, there was a high probability they would be attacked by Ferocious Beasts from the river.

On small boats there was not much operational space. If attacked, they would likely face certain death.

“Yes.” Yan Hua grinned.
