I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 704, Just Like a Salesperson!

Lu Zi instantly widened her purple eyes and immediately shook her head, saying. “That’s impossible.”

“Why not? We’ve finally met, and we’re both people from the same Tribe.” Ci was somewhat puzzled.

“There’s no way we would be willing. Life here is too good, and all our people here love it. They definitely won’t want to leave.” Lu Zi stood up and continued. “I also can’t abandon them. I simply cannot do it.”

“We could bring them all to the Earth Tiger Tribe.” Ci also stood up.

“Do you think the Earth Tiger Tribe would take them in?” Lu Zi turned around and continued to counter-question. “A hundred-plus people, and hardly any Warriors. What do you think?”

“…” Ci was immediately lost for words.

Indeed, they were not Warriors, were they? Going to the Earth Tiger Tribe, they would not be well-received either.

“Here, we can get plenty of meat to eat. As long as we work, we have food; as long as we work, we have shelter.” Lu Zi blinked her purple eyes and continued. “We don’t need to worry about being ostracised, and we certainly don’t need to worry about having nothing to eat.”

“Is this place really that good?” Ci found it somewhat hard to believe.

“Look at my current life. Does it look like I’m lying?” Lu Zi spread her hands and continued. “The Flame Dragon Tribe is the best place for us.”

“But our people should not be separated like this. We’re all from the Mountain Elephant Tribe!” Ci immediately said.

“No, we’re no longer that now. Now we’re merely people of two different Tribes.” Lu Zi shook her head.

Ci blinked her orange eyes in confusion. “How could we be people of two Tribes?”

“You’re now a person of the Earth Tiger Tribe, and I’m now a person of the Flame Dragon Tribe. Aren’t we people of two different Tribes?” Lu Zi spoke.

The girl’s expression was very resolute, as if she had originally been born and raised in the Flame Dragon Tribe.

Ci instantly had a moment of realisation, immediately understanding what the other was saying, and said helplessly. “I… I understand. You’re not wrong about that either.”

Ever since she joined the Earth Tiger Tribe, she had become an Earth Tiger Tribe person. She was no longer a Mountain Elephant Tribe person.

“We’re all in impossible situations now. Having left the Tribe for so long, we can’t return either.” Lu Zi sat down powerlessly on the stool and sighed. “Having chosen these two Tribes, we are now people of these two Tribes.”

Deep in her heart, she still thought of the Mountain Elephant Tribe, but they simply could not return. That great river in between was the greatest obstacle. Even if they crossed to the other side of the river, returning to their Tribe’s territory would still be an enormously distant journey.

If they travelled on foot to reach the desert region, they would probably die on the way before even arriving.

“You’re not wrong… we indeed cannot return. But I still don’t want us to be separated.” Ci persisted.

She still believed that they should stay together and not be separated. Now that they were so far from the Tribe, they needed to unite even more.

“You seem to get what I’ve just said a little. But we simply will not go to your Tribe. The only way is… unless… unless you stay.” Lu Zi looked up.

“Me stay? Impossible. I can’t stay. I’m a Warrior.” Ci said without hesitation.

“And how could I possibly bring so many people away from this comfortable haven?” Lu Zi counter-questioned.

*Haaa…* Ci let out a deep sigh and said helplessly. “Then we can only do this, split between the two Tribes.”

“We can only do this.” Lu Zi was also very helpless.

“What if these two Tribes become enemies in the future? What should we do then?” Ci thought of an even worse scenario.

“We belong to different Tribes, so our positions are different too. If such a thing really happens…” Lu Zi shook her head, brushed her purple hair, and continued. “I would naturally stand on the Flame Dragon Tribe’s side.”

Though the words were harsh, this was reality; something that had to be faced.

“I understand. I respect your decision. If you change your mind, you can come find me at the Earth Tiger Tribe at any time.”

Ci straightened her body and promised. “As long as I’m there, I won’t let you go hungry.”

The two had known each other since childhood, so their relationship was particularly good. This meeting was naturally extremely exciting.

“Same for you. As long as you change your mind, you can come find me anytime too. I won’t let you go hungry either.” Lu Zi also made a promise.

“I hope it’s you who comes to find me.” Ci spoke.

The girl had not lived in the Flame Dragon Tribe and felt that the Earth Tiger Tribe was the best.

“I doubt it. Life in the Flame Dragon Tribe is too good. Living here gives me a complete sense of happiness. It is impossible for me to willingly go to the Earth Tiger Tribe.” Lu Zi refused without hesitation. After all, as long as she worked earnestly in the Flame Dragon Tribe, she could continue living happily.

“Complete sense of happiness?” Ci kept hearing unfamiliar terms and continued asking. “Though the Flame Dragon Tribe is indeed great.”

This was a point she still acknowledged. From entering last night until now, everything had made her feel extraordinarily shocked.

After experiencing it, she was also impressed by everything here, but she dared not believe it, feeling that all this might only be superficial appearances.

In any case, she firmly believed what the Mountain Elephant Tribe had said; many things often could not be judged by their surface, and many were false.

“As long as you live here for a period of time, you’ll like this place even more than your current Tribe.” Lu Zi immediately said.

At this moment, Lu Zi was just like a salesperson, strenuously extolling the virtues of the Flame Dragon Tribe.

“Live for a period of time? I’m afraid I don’t have that much time. We have to leave here tomorrow. We need to hurry back to complete our mission.” Ci shook her head.

“That quickly? Why not stay a couple more days?” Lu Zi felt the time was too hurried.

“Originally we were supposed to leave today. Staying one more night is already quite a long time.” Ci said helplessly.

Actually, she also wanted to stay a few more days in that cement house. It felt much more reassuring than living in wooden houses. The food here was also amazing, the kind that the Earth Tiger Tribe could not hope to compete with.

“Alright then, how about you sleep at my place tonight?” Lu Zi suggested.

“Sleep at your place?” Ci kept blinking her orange eyes.

“Yes, I have a room to myself anyway. What’s wrong with you coming to sleep with me?”

Lu Zi pointed at the bed and continued. “Look, sleeping here, we could chat for a very long time.”

Ci was somewhat tempted. After hesitating for a moment, she spoke. “I need to go ask Yini, see if she agrees.”

After all, sleeping with someone from another Tribe for a night did not seem to conform to the customs of the Tribe, so she needed to ask first.

“Go then, go quickly and come back quickly.” Lu Zi urged.

“Don’t you need to work today? Didn’t you say you became… you became a music teacher?” Ci asked in confusion.

“Today I’m resting!” Lu Zi spoke.

Ci scratched the back of her head, thinking this Tribe was really strange. [They have a day of rest?]
