Radiant Dragon’s Otherworldly Reincarnation

Vol 2 Chapter 21. Eing, It’s the End of the World. End of the World (3)

”Ohhh....”

”Wow....”

”Oh my.”

Having confirmed the efficacy of the World Tree, the disciples each let out an exclamation.

Simply by circulating their energy under the tree, their internal energy multiplied, and their qi became clear.

This is far superior to spiritual medicine.

While spiritual medicine increases qi, it does not purify the qi within the body so clearly and cleanly.

Apart from Mun Yul, the other disciples had not been practicing martial arts for very long.

However, even those children could immediately tell just how special this World Tree was.

”Wow.... This is really amazing.”

”Doesn’t this mean we’ll become masters too?”

”Huh? Really?”

Amidst the excited junior brothers, Mun Yul clenched his fist tightly and muttered.

”Masters? More than enough. Just having plenty of internal energy usually ensures you escape being second-rate.”

While everyone was intoxicated by the festive atmosphere, there was exactly one person with a dark expression.

”What is the matter? Sect Leader.”

It was none other than Sect Leader Go Seok-hyeon.

He had been staring at the World Tree with a serious expression, and when Patrick spoke to him, he answered.

”Worshipped Duke, it may just be my baseless worry, but to be honest, I am a bit concerned about this.”

”About what?”

”There is a saying in the Central Plains. Treasures have separate owners.”

”Ah, I know it.”

Patrick nodded.

Right. Even though this person is from the Outer Regions, he knows the physiology of the Jianghu.

The Jianghu is that lawless and dangerous....

”It is a saying I quite like.”

”......?”

”In other words, it means if I’m strong, I can take someone else’s treasure, right?”

”......”

”In my hometown, we call that a dog-profit (big win).”

’Does that mean the West, where the Worshipped Duke lives, is such a lawless world?’

Misunderstandings about the Continent of Pangemonia were steadily accumulating. But that wasn’t the point.

”Ahem, if the world learns of the existence of this Divine Tree, many people will covet it.”

”They probably will.”

”Our Twin Dragon Sect does not yet have the power to protect such a precious treasure.”

”Please continue.”

”It is better not to have such a treasure than to let the disciples shed blood in senseless strife.”

At Sect Leader Go Seok-hyeon’s strong words, Patrick gazed at him intently and spoke.

Sect Leader Go Seok-hyeon also did not avoid Patrick’s eyes and met them calmly.

’He’s sincere.’

Patrick nodded.

’Anyway, he really has no greed.’

And then he smirked.

Treasures have separate owners.

There is no one who doesn’t know this maxim of the Jianghu. Yet, whenever news spreads that a secret manual of a former master or a rare spiritual medicine or herb has appeared somewhere, countless martial artists flock like a swarm of bees smelling honey.

Even knowing full well that they might die.

Humans who risk their lives on the desire to become stronger.

That is what martial artists are.

But Go Seok-hyeon suppressed that desire to become stronger.

Out of concern for his disciples’ lives.

’That’s a relief.’

Patrick smiled.

There were two reasons he kept Go Seok-hyeon as the Sect Leader when he reclaimed the Twin Dragon Sect.

His loyalty in protecting the Twin Dragon Sect until now, and his character of not losing his righteous heart even after falling into the slums.

However, character is something that changes according to a person’s situation.

Even a person who silently kept a righteous heart amidst harsh adversity changes when the situation changes.

When grease fills the belly and silk clothes drape the body, the greed that had been suppressed raises its head and changes the person.

Having seen countless such people, Patrick had been secretly most worried about this part. But....

’Master, it seems I worried for nothing.’

[It seems so.]

For the first time in a long while, his opinion aligned with Master’s.

So Patrick spoke with a relieved mind.

”The Sect Leader’s worry is very valid. However, do not worry. The blessings of this World Tree can only be enjoyed entirely by our Twin Dragon Sect.”

”What do you mean by that?”

”To explain in detail... Hmm,”

It was then.

Patrick, who was about to explain to Go Seok-hyeon, stopped speaking. Then, frowning as if displeased, he said.

”An impolite guest has arrived.”

***

”Ah....”

Demon Subduing Divine Sword Jeong Seon.

He, who was also the Sect Leader of the Kongtong Sect, dropped his jaw in admiration. At that, Yun Gi, who had followed to guide the way, spoke.

”What is it? Master.”

”Can you not feel it? Nothing at all?”

At his master’s words, Yun Gi looked around for a moment and answered.

”This disciple is dull and cannot fathom Master’s meaning.”

”That tree over there.”

Jeong Seon’s finger was pointing precisely at the giant tree growing in the backyard of the Twin Dragon Sect.

Yun Gi tilted his head upon seeing the tree.

’Was there such a giant tree over there?’

It was a tree that looked incredibly old even from a distance. But what about it....

”Amazing. How can such a Divine Tree exist in the world?”

”A Divine Tree, you say?”

While he was thinking, ’Is it that great of a tree?’

”I must see it up close.”

”Huh? ... Gasp, Master!”

Before Yun Gi could even stop him, Jeong Seon displayed his light footwork movement arts and rushed forward in a single step.

Seeing that, Yun Gi was startled.

The Master he knew was a person who usually did not use martial arts in front of commoners.

[A martial artist can be an object of intimidation to commoners, so unless it is absolutely necessary, it is better to refrain from using martial arts.]

Wasn’t he the one who taught his disciples thus?

But he did not expect him to display peak light footwork and dash off in the middle of the street like this.

Yun Gi, who was left behind, ran after his Master a beat late.

”Master. No. You must stop.”

By the time he shouted that, the person who was the Sect Leader of the Kongtong Sect had already crossed the wall of another sect.

***

Jeong Seon ran as if possessed.

The closer he got, the stronger the spiritual and holy energy radiating from that giant tree became.

Just as he rushed in a single breath and was about to reach the tree....

Pop!

A streak of light flashed and rushed at him.

It was a sudden attack, but Jeong Seon was, after all, the Sect Leader of the Kongtong Sect.

He was not easily taken down and drew his sword to respond.

”Mmm....”

He managed to block it, but the impact made his wrist tingle.

And immediately after blocking the attack, Jeong Seon landed on the ground and identified the opponent.

’A person with colored eyes. Then....’

He sheathed his sword and spoke.

”Are you the person named Patrick who defeated Blood Wave Saber Guest Ma Jae-ho?”

Then the opponent responded....

”What did you say?”

He went wild.

And spoke as if he was genuinely angry.

”Where do I look like Young Master Patrick? Huh?”

”You mean you are not?”

”Oh. This thieving old man is making me pissed. Listen well. My name is Oliver A. Proud Marquis of the Schneider Duchy.”

”.......”

’What is that?’ was the only thought that came to mind.

And Oliver, perhaps not having vented his anger enough, jumped around and said,

”No, there are things to be mistaken about. Do you mistake me for that Archdemon? Huh? You mistake a person for a demon?”

”That is, um....”

”Mistaking me for the Young Master is the fifteenth thing I hate.... Kkaul!”

Whack!

”Earning a beating. Earning a beating.”

Patrick, who had appeared behind Oliver at some point, smacked Oliver’s head first.

”Ah, why hit? I caught a thief, so why hit?”

”A thief?”

”No, if someone climbs over another’s wall without permission, they are a thief. Aren’t they?”

”You are right about that.”

And Patrick stepped in front of Oliver and stared at the opponent.

Then, smirking, he said....

”It seems the Kongtong Sect’s finances are serious these days. To the point that you have to act as a Gentleman on the Beam.”

At that, Jeong Seon’s face turned red.

In truth, it was his fault for climbing over another sect’s wall without permission because he was distracted.

’My cultivation is lacking. Haha.... To make such a mistake because I was bewitched by a Divine Item.’

There is nothing to be done about a mistake already made.

The only way is to correct it, even if starting now....

”It is the first time we have met. I am Jeong Seon, serving as the Sect Leader of the Kongtong Sect.”

”Hmm....”

Patrick quietly observed the person in front of him.

The Kongtong Sect, a part of the Nine Sects One Gang.

Although it is said so, the Kongtong Sect is actually a sect that holds a slightly lower rank within the Nine Sects One Gang.

The head of the Nine Sects is Shaolin, and beneath it, Wudang, Mount Hua, Emei, and such are the main forces, while the rest of the sects usually have less influence compared to the aforementioned ones. However....

’Ho, the Sect Leader of the current Kongtong Sect is quite something?’

The level of the person who revealed his name as Jeong Seon was clearly a notch above the Sect Leader of the Kongtong Sect during the time when Patrick was the Radiant Dragon Great Master Jin Cheon.

But that is that....

”What business does the Sect Leader of the Kongtong Sect have with our sect? And by climbing the wall, no less.”

”Ahem, ahem....”

As he kept pointing out the wall-climbing, Jeong Seon’s expression became embarrassed.

”I feel sorry about that. My cultivation was shallow, and I ended up making a mistake.”

”Tsk tsk tsk, you should cultivate yourself properly.”

”Young Master, is having shallow cultivation perhaps something to be proud of or an indulgence for clergy here?”

”There is no way that’s true.”

”Then why does he speak so proudly like that?”

”That’s what I’m saying. Tsk tsk, it wasn’t like this in the old days. Tsk, it’s the end of the world. The end of the world.”

Hearing what Patrick and Oliver were saying, Jeong Seon thought.

’Should I just fight?’

Looking at the two guys in front of him, a violent desire to show them what it really means to have shallow cultivation bloomed inside him.

”Master!”

It was then.

The sound of his disciple urgently calling him from behind was heard.

Unlike his Master, Yun Gi, who had opened the gate and entered, ran over urgently and said,

”Master. Are you alright?”

”I am fine. More importantly....”

Jeong Seon said to his disciple.

”Who is the person with colored eyes you spoke of?”

”It is that person on the left.”

When Yun Gi pointed him out, Patrick shrugged his shoulders and said,

”What? You came to find me?”

”That was the original purpose. However....”

”However what?”

Jeong Seon politely gathered his hands in a clasped greeting and bowed his head deeply.

And said....

”Before that, could you please allow me to examine that Divine Tree in your sect just once? I earnestly ask this of you.”

The Sect Leader of the prestigious orthodox Kongtong Sect requested with excessive politeness.

Usually, if it were a person with common sense in the Jianghu, they would not be able to refuse such a request.

”Ah, you were curious about our sect’s Divine Item. So you came over the wall in a hurry.”

”Ahem.... That is so.”

It bothered him that he kept bringing up climbing the wall, but what could he do?

First of all, it was true that it was his mistake.

And since he asked like this, now he would surely grant....

”Sheeeeesh.”

Wow, this bastard knows how to piss people off.

Jeong Seon ground his teeth inwardly and said,

”I beg of you. It is because I really want to see it just once.”

”That’s your circumstance. Didn’t you hear the word Divine Item? Don’t you know what a Divine Item is?”

”No, that is....”

”Where do you think you are? An outsider saying they want to just look at another sect’s Divine Item? Huh?”

”.......”

”If you are from the Kongtong Sect, is that allowed? Is the Kongtong Sect doing that well these days? Then, why don’t you go to the Namgung Clan and ask to see the Clan Head’s wife’s face too?”

”.......”

It is unfair.

What is unfair is that everything this person, who looks like a thug from the Unorthodox Faction, is saying is correct.

His conduct is like a raw thug who threw manners into the latrine, but the words themselves are all correct.

So, having become the Sect Leader of the Great Kongtong Sect, he couldn’t even say a word in retort.

This reality is too unfair.

’How can such a human exist?’

It would be a natural thought for anyone who meets Patrick.

At that moment, the disciple Yun Gi stepped forward with an angry face on behalf of his troubled Master.

”Are you not too rude to the Sect Leader of the Great Kongtong Sect?”

”So what? He’s your Sect Leader, not mine.”

”Is that the proper etiquette an orthodox martial artist should show to a senior of the Jianghu?”

Yun Gi argued confidently.

Even if the sects are different, isn’t there etiquette that must be observed between orthodox factions?

He tried to refute the opponent by raising that point.

However....

”What? Senior of the Jianghu? Are you perhaps talking about generation seniority?”

”That is so. Leaving the sect aside, this person is....”

”You rascal! If we’re talking seniority, I am a whopping... Oh, I’m really pissed.”

Patrick thumped his chest as if he was wrongly accused. Yun Gi was bewildered seeing that appearance.

’What is this? That look of being genuinely wrongly accused?’

Patrick jumped up and down on the spot and shouted.

”I, you punk. With your ancestors, you punk, did sword training, ate rice, drank alcohol, did everything. You punk!”

”What does that....”

”Where does a little kid who isn’t even visible to the eye talk about seniority? A senior of the Jianghu?!”

”.......”

Yun Gi was flustered.

This is the first time he has met such a human.

Even with the Sect Leader of the Kongtong Sect in front of him, he doesn’t care even as much as he would for a one-knot beggar of the Beggar’s Gang.

Since it was a type of human he was seeing for the first time, he didn’t know how to treat him.

At that moment when he was hesitating, not knowing what to do....

”St... Stop!”

Fortunately, a person possessing common sense ran over hurriedly.

And urgently making a clasped hands greeting, he said,

”I am Go Seok-hyeon, the Sect Leader of the Twin Dragon Sect.”

”Ah, I am....”

”Please state your identities and purpose of visit, honored guests.”

Before our Worshipped Duke goes on a rampage, quickly.

Twin Dragon Sect Leader Go Seok-hyeon.

He, too, was gradually adapting to the existence named Patrick Schneider.
