Chapter 2250: 4th Duel

The screen time was showing more about Tang Shaoyang playing with his new trick than the actual one. People who watched the duel for entertainment would be disappointed. But the people on Earth were in a jubilant atmosphere, realizing that they won the War of Worlds even though the duel was not over yet.

At this point, people were convinced that Tang Shaoyang was just too strong for his opponent. They believed he would crush the next two opponents as well.

The man in the topic was observing his battle axe. The Heavenly Vermilion mark, the Heavenly White Tiger mark, and the Heavenly Azure Dragon mark were on the flat side of the axe blade.

He found out that the mark was more alive when he put them into the weapon. The vermilion was flying, circling the flat surface of the blade. The same with the dragon and the tiger. As he imbued the mark with his Chaos Energy, which made it more real, the mark turned more like an engraving.

Tang Shaoyang tried to swing his World Destroyer to feel the difference. There was no difference when he just swung it normally. He was tempted to activate the mark and strike the ground for a test, but he was afraid of scaring his next opponent.

’Oh, no... I have truly underestimated my enemy...’

The thought of scaring his next opponent was enough to tell that he put himself above his opponent. That was a sign that he was underestimating his enemy.

’I guess their plan is truly working... Now can they exploit this?’

While he was underestimating his enemy, using something new in the duel, he would still fight with the intent to kill. He was not going to purposely weaken his attack for the sake of his experiment.

He kept swinging his battle axe several times and got bored, ”Just come and fight me already!” It was a minute away for his next opponent from getting forcefully summoned.

His next opponent appeared a minute later, already in her bloodline transformation. Her whole body was covered in green-glistening scales with a pair of black wings, a pair of horns, and green eyes. She was holding a shield in her left hand and a sword in her right, a common combination.

Tang Shaoyang didn’t use his fancy movement skill, just shifting half of his Stamina into Agility as his figure blurred forward, leaving thousands of after-images. He arrived in front of Timur Florea with his axe in the air, and he swung the battle axe down while activating the three marks. The three heavenly beasts made their appearance as the roar and screech resounded in the air.

Timur reacted swiftly, raising her round shield upward. His shield flowed in rose red, then the image of a rose bloomed, materialized, clashing against the battle axe. It went with a boom as the energy explosion covered the two figures.

Not long after, a figure was seen getting pushed back from the explosion. Timur was skidding on the ground while maintaining her shield forward. Her left hand was trembling from the impact, but she fared well compared to her first three predecessors.

She was glad that she managed to reduce the force from the strike instead of getting yanked to the void like Nazario. That was an awful way to die. But she was not at ease yet, considering how the first three duels went. Her opponent would go for the kill.

Timur blinked, realizing she was getting distracted by her fear again. She feared her opponent, especially after witnessing how the first three duels went. On top of that, she knew her opponent’s identity.

Different than the fools from Bahmes, they didn’t know who they were up against, but she knew. They were against an Executive Administrator. They were not supposed to win this, but she was also not in the clear as to why the empire provoked an Executive Administrator.

In the moment of distraction, she noticed the blurring figure came out of the explosion. The figure stopped right before her, holding the axe with both hands in a lower stance. She could only see the horns and the massive wings on his back.

Timur knew what was coming and tried her best to be prepared for it. The task from her empire was to fight with her all. It was for the best if she could kill him, but if she could not, then she was allowed to surrender, only after she exhausted all her means.

It was a Royal Decree, and she could not turn down the Royal Decree, even knowing how stupid the task was. She was aware that she was being sacrificed for whatever her empire tried to achieve.

It was common knowledge in the God Realm not to mess with the Administrator. Yet she was facing an Executive Administrator, the highest order of the Administrator. Many lower-ranked Administrators would throw their bodies just to gain the Executive Administrator’s favor. She felt like it would just be a matter of time until her empire was attacked by dozens of factions.

That was for later, of course. She didn’t even know if she could survive this duel yet. Once more, her shield was glowing in rose red before the flower bloomed on her shield again.

At the same time, her opponent brought the axe upward. This time, she got to face the three Heavenly Beasts in person, not just their voice and aura.

It went with a boom, a massive shock wave shook the ground as her shield flung upward. She grunted in pain as the strike contained triple the power of the previous strike. Then she felt a crushing kick to her belly. If not for her skills, the kick would send her flying. But thanks to her skill, she remained rooted to the ground as her feet skidded on the grass.

She kept getting pushed back, and before she came to a stop, her enemy was right above with the battle axe going down toward her. She hastily positioned her shield for the upcoming attack, minus her skill because it was still in the last-second cooldown. Even if the skill was not on cooldown, she didn’t think she could fully cast the skill to its full potential. The rose would not bloom.

Timur navigated her energy around her shield in haste, scrambling everything she could muster to reduce the impact.

Bang!

Her feet sank into the ground, her energy around her shield scattered, and she tasted copper in her mouth, but she was holding down. Then she noticed her enemy made a swing motion, and a kick was directed toward her belly.

’Not this time!’

She raised her right leg, breaking from the ground and kicking down at the incoming kick. She managed to deflect the kick down to the ground.

’This is my chance!’

Timur thought she had finally created a chance to counter instead of being defensive all the time. She activated one of her offensive skills, swinging her sword forward. To his surprise, her sword hit empty air.

That was when her senses warned her that danger was coming from behind. She leaped forward instead of trying to block it hastily. Even with her passive skill, she was not confident enough to block the attack completely.

She quickly realized her mistake when she leaped forward because her enemy appeared with [Blink] right in front of her. He was with the battle axe, cleaving it horizontally.

She was forced to another hasty block, but the impact sent her crashing down. She landed on her back with a boom, but her shield reduced the impact as she quickly got back on her feet.

The duel continued like that. It was terrifying that even though they were at the same rank, God Rank. His opponent was much faster than even her eyes failed to catch the movement. If not for his passive sense skill, she would have been cleaved several times.

Her shield, being the most expensive equipment, proved its worth. It blocked all the attacks, reducing the impact on her body to endure. She had downed more than ten high-grade healing potions in the last twenty minutes.

But the situation remained the same. She was forced to block all attacks coming to her. She tried to counter, but it was all for naught. Her sword always hit the empty air. It might look like she was faring better than the previous duels, but she didn’t think so.

This was the worst as she realized that she was under her opponent’s mercy. The internal injuries piled up, and blood started to flow from the corners of her lips, from her nose, and from her ears.

What frustrated her even more was that she could not fight back. All her attempts were pointless. It looked like she was an apprentice knight in training against her mentor. It was like an adult playing with a kid. She was being toyed with, or maybe her opponent had an ulterior motive.

It wasn’t until her shield broke into pieces as she fell on her knees. Her body was at its limit, her muscles were screaming at her, and she felt like her insides were in a mess.

A realization dawned upon her as she looked at the broken pieces of her shield. She realized why she was under his mercy. It was to break her shield, but why? What was the purpose of breaking her shield if he could kill her without breaking the shield?

”I—” Timur Florea was about to declare her surrender, but her voice was cut short. Her vision turned upside down, and then she saw her headless body. That was her last vision before darkness took her.
