Chapter 2217: Old Drinking Friend

Tang Shaoyang chuckled, “It’s an interesting offer, but I am not interested. This is the end of our relationship. There will be no negotiation or cooperation between me and your kingdom. Even if you offered ten worlds, I will never agree to it out of spite. I don’t deal with the people who don’t respect me, my family, and my people!”

A chance to meet the figure behind the System was indeed interesting. Tang Shaoyang was interested in them, but it was not to the point that he would weaken himself just to satisfy his curiosity. Losing four Archaic Spirits would weaken, not by much, but it still weakened him.

Furthermore, he had to accept the terms from the side that had just humiliated him and his wives. He had made up his mind that there would be no future dealing with the Hurakan Kingdom. In fact, there would be only a fight.

Earth’s last Dimensional Tower would be the God Rank Dimensional Tower. They might meet the Hurakan Kingdom there, and if they met the Hurakan Kingdom. He would dedicate his time to the Dimensional Tower and make sure they got nothing from the Dimensional Tower.

“Is there really no chance? Think about the bigger picture before you answer me!” The King asked once more, this time his voice carried pressure and authority.

“Never! Now tell your people to move out of my way! I am done holding, next time blood will truly spill!” There was no pause. Tang Shaoyang answered right away.

The Royal Knights remained blocking the entrance. The other nobles didn’t have authority over them as well. The Royal Knight only listened to the King’s order.

The King still had this calculating look in his eyes. Even though his people were at fault, it irritated him that nobody like Tang Shaoyang dared to act like this in front of the Hurakan Kingdom.

He had to admit that Tang Shaoyang was strong, but there was only so much one person could do. Tang Shaoyang alone was not enough to put up a fight against the Hurakan Kingdom.

Of course, there was always an exception like Arion. Even though Arion was an individual without a faction, his influence in the God Realm was beyond himself. He could move many big factions with a single order. On top of that, Arion had his Chimera Army, which was dreaded by many, but Tang Shaoyang was nowhere near Arion.

Clementine and the other Executive Administrators were waiting for the King’s response. Valeria and Baba didn’t want the conflict to escalate over trivial matters, but he knew he could not say it out loud, as well. It would piss Tang Shaoyang even more and muddied the water even further.

[Let me talk to The King, Master!]

At that moment, Gianni Lysvand finally made a request to meet the King. The Lysvand Family was once a well-respected family in the Hurakan Kingdom. Gianni was also once the King’s drink buddy.

From his perspective, he didn’t want his new Master to fight the Hurakan Kingdom. Not because he was afraid that his Master would lose, but because of his sentiment for his old friend and the kingdom he served until his death.

“You have three minutes to convince him not to do anything stupid. That’s my limit!”

Everyone heard what Tang Shaoyang said, but they were confused about whom he talked to. It wasn’t until a figure materialized close to Tang Shaoyang that the King’s eyes widened in surprise to see the figure.

He recognized the figure, an old friend whose face he never forgot. More than that, it was his guilt that made him not forget about this man. He failed to protect the Lysvand Family, failed his old friend when his friend died for his kingdom.

That was when he realized that his old friend was one of the spirits under Tang Shaoyang. Knowing this fact, it enraged him. How dare this nobody shackled his dead friend instead of letting his friend get eternal rest?

Gianni let out a sigh, “You plan to hold this talk without trying to learn anything about the Spirit Contractor class.” That was his first sentence for the King.

“We become a spirit by our own choice. The reason the others and I became spirits is because of the strong lingering regret when we were still alive. Most spirits are driven by revenge, but not us. We became a spirit because of our lingering regret.”

“We” in Gianni’s mouth was him and the other three spirits from the Hurakan Kingdom. They spoke for them and for the other spirits as well.

“I can only tell you this much, Your Majesty. I can’t divulge my Master’s secret to anyone, even if it’s you. And you should be aware what’s your knight’s lingering regret, right, Your Majesty?”

Only a few recognized Gianni Lysvand. It was because most of the people next to the King were not even born in Gianni’s era.

Of course, the King knew of the Lysvand Family’s lingering regret, not being able to get rid of the Void Cult. The Lysvand Family rose in prominence because of their feat in fighting the Void Creature and Void Cult. Their last member also perished in the hands of the Void Cult.

“After learning his identity, the others and I willingly formed a pact with him as our Master. This is our own choice, Your Majesty. You should not fight for us, the dead. You should fight for the living. This is our new chapter as a spirit, and we choose to serve him as our Master, our Emperor now.”

Gianni’s tone was resolute, and he was here not to negotiate or convince the King. It was a statement to the King that he was no longer the Hurakan Kingdom, and the King should not fight for them because they were no longer the Hurakan Kingdom’s people.

The King, of course, knew what the knight’s regret was who died fighting the Void Cult. Their lingering regret was to root out the Void Cult. Their regret aligned with the Administrator’s main duty to eradicate the Void Cult.

After that, Gianni’s figure disappeared, returning to the Spirit World. The King was about to say something, but the words stuck in his mouth. He frowned, then let out a sigh, gesturing to the Royal Knight, “Make a way!”

“We can’t let them leave after he struck Razo to half-dead, Your Majesty!” One of the ministers voiced his disagreement. He knew Gianni Lysvand, but he didn’t know what Gianni looked like, so he didn’t recognize the spirit.

The Royal Knight also hesitated. They were of the same opinion as the Minister. It would set a precedent that if Tang Shaoyang left unpunished after attacking one of the Hurakan Kingdom’s ministers to half-dead. They could not allow it.

“Are you deaf! Leave this room right now!” The King raised his voice and even used his aura toward the Royal Knight. Only then did they retreat from the room.

Tang Shaoyang left with his wives. Zara and Avyn remained outside, staying close to Ava and Jasmine. The two spirits had a look of regret in their eyes. They were excited to be able to fight against the Hurakan Kingdom’s people, but it didn’t happen.

Clementine massaged the space between his eyes as she let out another sigh. The situation was out of control, and she was frustrated because Tang Shaoyang was not to blame this time. If it were her, she would have already killed the fourth man who came to Tang Shaoyang’s wives.

“The meeting is over, and thanks to you guys, I gave him dragon eggs for nothing,” Arion felt like he was also a victim of this nonsense. “Shouldn’t you compensate me, old Draxen? You kept pestering me to meet Tang Shaoyang, and you made a big mess out of it.”

Arion scanned the other nobles, and the majority of them had a displeased look on their faces. They must still be thinking about Tang Shaoyang. They still thought that they should not let Tang Shaoyang leave like that.

“You need to keep a watch on your people before things even get messier. Look at their faces, they still think the Royal Knight can subdue Tang Shaoyang,” Arion sneered in front of their faces.

“This is just a reminder for you, Old Draxen. If the Hurakan Kingdom truly goes to war against the Tang Empire, I have no choice but to side with it. All of this happens because of me, after all.”

Arion bore the guilt because it was he who persuaded Tang Shaoyang to meet the King. He had a feeling that the talk would not go smoothly, but it never crossed his mind that it would blow up like this.

“Maybe it’s actually better for Tang Shaoyang to never meet you or even come here, after all.”

The King looked at Arion in the eyes, “Do you think he is strong enough to survive all of us?”

Arion grinned ear to ear, “I don’t know. I don’t know how strong he is, but if I have to make a deduction… Then yes, he would survive, even killing the majority of your people in this room, including your Royal Knights, before your main force could arrive. If Clementine and I joined, then you have no chance at all.”

The King was surprised to hear Arion’s assessment of Tang Shaoyang.

“Come on, you know he killed an Emperor and the Seven Kings who attacked your city. Ah, yes, we keep it a secret, but I will tell you a little secret from our side. He is the one who killed Alderman, by himself, under the watch of Leon Francis, on top of that.”

Arion winked his right eye at the King, “Surprise, oh surprise, he didn’t suffer any injuries. All injuries from the fight are healed with his natural regeneration, meaning Alderman could not land a blow that caused a heavy injury to him. It could be said that he is unscathed after fighting Alderman. So, how strong is he, do you think?”

Arion was like a proud father when he told a tale about Tang Shaoyang’s feat in killing Alderman. It could be said that he played a role in Tang Shaoyang’s growth.

The King knew the news about the Alderman who got kicked out of the Administrator. There was not much detail, but the Administrator claimed to have dealt with Alderman to ensure there was no second Leon Francis. But there was not much detail about it.

People speculated that several Executive Administrators dealt with Alderman. That was the only way to minimize the damage. That was what everyone believed until now.

“We have lost two Executive Administrators in the span of five years, so yeah, I would be happy if you could leave my friend alone.”
