Chapter 2233 Proposal (2)

That changed things because the Tang Empire hadnʼt established the intelligence division for the God Realm. He could absorb the Feng Family and merge them into TEIDʼs God Realm intelligence division.

He offered a new proposal that made Feng Zhan contemplate. The proposal was what the Feng Family needed to keep their people alive right now. However, the proposal was hard to accept as well. Working for the person who slaughtered their family didnʼt sit right with Feng Zhan.

The same with the other people in the city, or the Feng Familyʼs members who worked in information gathering. It would be hard to convince them to work under the person who destroyed their family.

Feng Zhan disagreed with the way his brother operated the family. His brother might do something that crossed the line, but he was not a tyrant to his own people. It was still better than working under the person who destroyed their family. Unless the Executive Administrator Tang Shaoyang threatened them with their family annihilation, it would be hard to accept such a proposal.

”I am willing to sell my family for the Feng Familyʼs survival, but it would be different to work under the person who destroyed my family. You will expect us to stab you in the back the moment we have the chance, under contract, oath or not.”

”On top of that, you canʼt expect us to work wholeheartedly under you. You will not get what you want from working us under you, Sir. In the end, itʼs just a matter of time until my surviving family plans to rebel and will die in your hands. This proposal is not going to work for both of us.”

Feng Zhan remained calm and composed as he explained that the proposal was not going to benefit both sides. He knew well how arrogant his family was. They will not work under Tang Shaoyang. All they did was to plan the rebellion if he agreed to the proposal.

”I guess that makes sense. You are encouraging me to annihilate your family since they are going to look for me for revenge,” Tang Shaoyang smiled, ”This will be tough to reach the middle ground.”

Feng Zhan let out a sigh and understood what Tang Shaoyang tried to convey. It was better to work them under him because that would put them under oath and contract. That would be easier for Tang Shaoyang to control them, or as he said, he could annihilate the whole family. It was his job to convince his family to work under Tang Shaoyang.

”Or you canʼt hide the fact that I am the one who destroyed the Feng Family. Using that as an excuse to work under me, seeking protection under me from the unknown enemy.”

Morally right or wrong didnʼt really matter to Tang Shaoyang as long as he could get another hand to help him for the upcoming war. He needed information for the upcoming war against the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order. He needed to find more information about their allies and vassals.

There was still a lot of work and thorough preparation before the actual battle. Dirty trick or not, he needed to quickly set up an intelligence division in the God Realm to gather information for him. He could buy information, but that also meant his enemy could track his movement through this information guild or faction.

It was safer to have his own people gather information than to rely on those people who sold information to live.

”How? A mask is not enough to fool my family!”

Tang Shaoyang shrugged and summoned three spirits, three spirits strong enough to finish the fight as quickly as possible: Avyn, Zara, and Karan.

Feng Zhan furrowed his brow at the three figures. He had heard a little about Spirit Contractor, but he could not feel any aura in the slightest from the three spirits.

The people from the God Realm were known for their aura. Their aura could measure how strong they were, while the cultivator depended on the quality of their internal energy. Yet he felt nothing from the three, as if they were mortals. No, even mortals could be sensed with his senses.

As he got bolder, the woman in a blue dress shot a glance at him as an aura burst forth from her. His expression paled, and his legs trembled. If the woman didnʼt immediately retract the aura, he might fall on his knees.

His eyes were wide open as fear rose in his heart that quickly turned into nervousness. He was a God Rank, the highest-ranked player, yet the gap between him and the woman was obvious.

”Make it quick, donʼt let anyone see your face, and let Xiyue get her revenge.”

Then Tang Shaoyang turned toward Feng Zhan, ”Do we have the deal?”

Feng Zhanʼs head was muddled, could not think clearly. The realization of the gap between him and the Executive Administrator was despairing. Before this, he believed that he might be able to fight back against Tang Shaoyang. The thoughts immediately disappeared after what happened.

This also told Feng Zhan that revenge was almost literally impossible. Unless he could unite the Sacred Realm and fight Tang Shaoyang. Even so, the Sacred Realm was not enough against such a monster. They might defeat Tang Shaoyang, but killing Tang Shaoyang was a whole different issue.

”You donʼt give me another choice, Sir Tang Shaoyang…”

”Oh, you do have a choice. I donʼt plan to destroy the city or force you to work under me. If you refuse my proposal, you can stay with the survivor of your family. I am not going to force you to work half-heartedly under me.”

Tang Shaoyang shrugged. He was true to his words, as it was never his intention to kill the children and wipe out the city. Such a thing no longer bothered him, but it still gave him a bad aftertaste. He would avoid such destruction and slaughter if possible.

”Now youʼd better hurry and give the list to my spirits before he kills all your family members! I will wait for your answer until I achieve my goal.”

Feng Zhan immediately turned around, going as fast as he could to catch up before the worst happened.

Tian Zhong watched everything from the side. He made sure to listen to all the conversation and found new information about his master. Based on what Feng Zhan said, Overseer Tang Shaoyang seemed to have another status in the God Realm, high enough for Feng Zhan to remain respectful and compromise with the fall of his family so that a few could survive.

”Curious about me?” Tang Shaoyang smiled as he glanced at the former Sword Manorʼs patriarch.

”I thought you had some connections in the God Realm. It should not be hard to find information about me as long as you have money to pay for it.”

It was just common knowledge that his information was quite a hot commodity. He kept making headlines, and the recent headline might even spike the price of his information. Not that he cared because in each confrontation and fight, he always held something.

As for his fight against Alderman Fiodor, it barely had a witness. There was not much information, like how he defeated a former Executive Administrator. Even the Executive Administrator didnʼt know the details of his fight, and the people from the Sacred Realm had no connection to the God Realm. That information was completely contained in the Sacred Realm.

”We do have some dealings, but itʼs merely for free general information in exchange for exclusive resources from the Sacred Realm. The latest information I received is about the Executive Administrator. They lost two Executive Administrators and appointed a new one. They only told me to be careful around the new Executive Administrator if I meet him. He is quite hot-tempered, and his name is…”

Tian Zhong blinked his eyes as a realization dawned upon him. He looked Tang Shaoyang in the eyes. Unlike Feng Zhan, Tian Zhong didnʼt obtain the sketch of what Tang Shaoyang looked like. But he still got the name, and the name was the same as the Overseer of the Thousand Vows Pavilion.

He even thought that this Tang Shaoyang might be from the Sacred Realm because of the name. He thought one of the Tang Familyʼs members had migrated to the God Realm and achieved such a feat. While that was a guess, he never confirmed it because of the Sword Manorʼs stance not to involve themselves in the Murimʼs affair.

”Are you perhaps Executive Administrator Tang Shaoyang?”
