Chapter 2230: Worst Match-Up (2)

Tang Shaoyang looked at his chest, slightly sore. It seemed the barrier absorbed most of the force before the fist hit him. He looked up and found the man had come out of the rubble.

He came out while rubbing the spot where he was kicked. His gaze was fixed on Tang Shaoyang. It was the first hit he ever landed on Tang Shaoyang, but at what cost? The man seemed to realize the gravity of the situation.

The man thought Tang Shaoyang was just another foolish wandering cultivator who foolishly challenged the Feng Family just to obtain the phoenix pet. This was not the first time that a foolish wandering cultivator challenged the Feng Family.

However, he made a wrong judgment and realized this man might be stronger than himself. He realized mid-fight that his opponent was going easy on him. He burnt his life force, strengthening his fire, but it was still useless.

When he was connected to Tang Shaoyang’s chest. He came to the realization that the man might be immune to his fire. It sounded absurd considering his fire was a phoenix fire. While his fire was not as pure as Patriarch’s fire, it was strong enough to be considered as one of the top ten within the Feng Family.

Yet his fire could not even burn that man’s weird outfit. Maybe the outfit was the reason why his opponent was immune to the fire. As the realization dawned, he made the decision. He must stall this man until the Patriarch and the other Grand Elders handle the phoenix and the other two beasts.

That was the best solution for the current situation. He quickly glanced at the four Elders and sent a transmission message to them. They must stop this man, and they couldn’t let this man join the beasts.

The four cultivators who distanced themselves from the battlefield joined, “We will help, Grand Elder!”

The Grand Elder cast a glance at Tian Zhong and the other three Grandmasters. Among the four, only Tian Zhong posed a threat to him. He sent another message to the other four, asking them to be careful around those four people as well.

Tang Shaoyang, however, quickly lost interest in continuing the fight. His spirits had been noisy since he arrived in this place, asking him to be summoned.

He summoned Rokian and Artras. Both were shadow creatures that took their previous form, which was a wolf, Shadow of Abyss. Then he summoned Kaiser and Skelly2 to balance it out, to make it fair between his skeleton and spirits.

Tang Shaoyang could sense the gratitude from Kaiser, the Abyssal Ruby Draconic Skeleton, to be summoned. He rarely summoned the skeleton unless it was a big war, after all.

Skelly2 was originally Magic Swordsmaster Skeleton, a skeleton who mastered both magic and sword art. It was three years ago. Skelly2 had evolved into Transcendent of Abyss.

“Same rule. Don’t kill those who don’t fight back and keep the body intact! You can assist Xiyue after killing them!”

The Feng Family’s Grand Elder’s eyes widened in shock. His heart jumped when the two shadow creatures were summoned. He thought those two were demonic beasts. He assumed the shadow wolf was a rare demonic creature.

The Grand Elder quickly realized that the attacker was the outsider. This was not something that could be achieved by the people from the Sacred Realm.

The Feng Family despised the outsider as the other cultivators did. However, they didn’t completely cut off their connection with the God Realm. They just didn’t follow the way of the System, the same as the others. They only took the resources from the God Realm, which a lot didn’t exist in the Sacred Realm.

Most of the resources were replacement materials for their alchemy and formation materials to create pills. In fact, they hired people from the God Realm to create their secret realm. That was the limit of their connection with the God Realm.

Of course, sometimes conflict was unavoidable. They had fought a share of outsiders with their weird techniques and skills.

He had a guess what his opponent was: both a Necromancer and a Summoner. Necromancer was one of the renowned classes that used undead, or the people in the Sacred Realm called them Jiangshi. Summoners were even broader because they could summon any kind of thing, depending on the class itself. The man in front of him might have the Demonic Summoner class or something.

The Grand Elder could keep his calm because of his experience in the God Realm, but that was not the case for the other four. They had visited the God Realm for business, but they never actually fought or experienced a battle in the God Realm.

The four peak True God Realms were terrified and confused, seeing something they had never seen before.

“Don’t be afraid of those things. They are just that person’s summoner and summoner…” The Grand Elder’s voice stopped as he realized something was off.

Summoners or Necromancers were generally weak, relying on the summon to fight. The easy solution was to kill the summoner who was weaker than the summon itself. But this didn’t apply to his current opponent.

He had an intense fight for almost an hour, but he failed to land a single hit until the last moment. His opponent was not a weak summoner or necromancer.

If the summoner was strong, he wished the summon itself were weak. But he was quickly proven wrong. The two demonic beasts disappeared into the shadow, and the next moment, two of his people were dragged into their own shadow. Just like that, he lost two peak True God Realms.

He didn’t know whether they were still alive or not. Then the skeleton moved. His two remaining people were blasted onto the wall. The ground shook from the impact, and the two skeletons were next to him. He was ready for them to gang up on him, but then two skeletons completely ignored him and walked past him nonchalantly.

It pissed him off getting ignored like this. He was about to strike the two skeletons until the outsider appeared in front of him. His opponent was this outsider, not the skeleton.

The dark-golden fist struck his chest. The pressure and the ominous aura that came from the fist surprised him. He never felt that way from their early confrontation until now.

He quickly raised his palm and blocked the incoming fist. His phoenix fire swirled on his palm as he received the fist. His phoenix fire scattered upon contact, and his eyes widened as he received the fist.

He was struck with an overwhelming force that he was not prepared for. He tried to hold on, but he was not able to. His body was sent flying by the fist, spinning in the air, crashed through the wall, and went further into the city, only to stop when his body hit a structure inside.

The scream resounded in the air as the guard quickly evacuated the people who came closer to the wall.

The Grand Elder quickly rose from the rubble and rushed out of the city. He must control the damage and keep the outsider outside the city.

Once he was outside, he was met by the outsider who seemed to be ready with him. The moment he was out of the wall, his opponent came from above.

Fire burst forth from his leg as his figure blurred, moving to the right. He only heard a booming sound behind him. When he thought he had gotten away from his opponent, he felt a gush brush him from the right side, and then his opponent appeared in front of him. Another fist came to his face, and this time he could not dodge it.

He was forced to engage in close combat again, sending his own fist. Their fist met, and he bounced off, getting overpowered once more. His opponent followed with a second fist to his chest.

The Grand Elder tapped the fist, intending to deflect it. However, he could not fully muster his strength and only managed to redirect the fist. The fist changed direction, hitting his right shoulder.

He grunted in pain, but he managed to hold on this time. But another fist kept coming, and the Grand Elder did his best to deflect and block. He noticed that each strike was just a normal punch imbued with internal energy, not a technique, yet he was having a hard time handling the barrage of attacks.

The situation completely changed, and now he was forced on the defensive. Fist after fist kept coming to him, giving him no chance to recover, let alone to counter. It was similar to the early fight, but he was on the defensive side now.

The fight continued as his body collected injuries, as he could not completely block or deflect all the attacks. As the fight continued, his movement became more sluggish as more and more fists landed on his body.

The reason he could hold on was that he burned his life force little by little to strengthen himself, but he still could not catch up to his opponent. That was when he realized that he must use everything if he wanted to delay this man long enough until the Patriarch came to help him.

Facing no choice, the Grand Elder burned his life force, everything he had. His body was completely blazed in phoenix fire, and his injuries were instantly healed.

Just as he thought he would be able to fight back this time, he was faced with dozens of golden palms. More than fifty golden dark-golden palms floated in the sky. He was foolish to think that Tang Shaoyang would continue to engage in close combat without using any technique.
