Chapter 2216: A Chance

Tang Shaoyang’s cultivation had advanced far further than any cultivator could make in a year. He had mastered the Heavenly Scripture and the technique inside, including Heavenly Revoke.

Aside from mastering his techniques, he found something entirely beneficial. He could activate his skills much faster. His spirits and his deduction were because he had been controlling his energy on his own, so he could activate the skill much faster. That was merely a deduction; it hadn’t been proven yet.

That was why he could activate the Bloodline Transformation and Wrath of Slayer almost at the same time, which was followed by Heavenly Revoke. At the same time, he managed to shift his attributes to Agility as well.

All of it happened within less than three seconds. That was why Razo failed to react. It was too fast, and Razo didn’t expect Tang Shaoyang to attack him with the intent to kill.

Anyone from the Hurakan Kingdom, including the King, also could not react in time. The gleam of the dark-gold energy in the sword slashed toward Razo’s neck. When it seemed the sword would cut Razo’s neck, a figure appeared next to Tang Shaoyang and caught the sword with her bare hand.

The hand was slender, the skin was smooth and pale, an indication that it was a woman’s hand. Tang Shaoyang didn’t really care to look at whose hand it belonged. His eyes locked on Razo, who was still stunned by the sudden development.

The woman might stop him, but Zara and Avyn were already behind Razo. Both caught Razo’s shoulder and plunged him to the ground.

Half of Razo’s body was frozen in Ethereal Frost, and his entire right arm was swallowed by the Death Energy. His skin turned dark, instantly losing the flesh, leaving just bone and skin.

That was when Arion, Baba, and Valeria joined as well. Baba and Valeria pushed Avyn and Zara away from Razo. Meanwhile, Arion cut Razo’s entire right arm before the Death Energy spread throughout the whole body.

Tang Shaoyang tried to pull the sword, but it was firmly gripped. That was when Tang Shaoyang released the sword, then a dark-gold palm formed near the ceiling. Not just one, but ten of them.

“ENOUGH!”

Clementine shouted, releasing a massive amount of terrifying energy that neutralized the Heavenly Shattering Palm. At the same time, Tang Shaoyang was pushed back. She was enveloped in blood red energy that gave off a sinister and dreadful sensation.

He was surprised that just a burst of energy could push him away and neutralize his technique. However, Tang Shaoyang was merely surprised, but he didn’t intend to stop at this. His eyes locked on Razo, who was on the floor, half-dead.

Arion stuffed something into Razo’s mouth, which improved his condition.

This was when Clementine realized that Tang Shaoyang didn’t intend to stop despite her warning. His eyes were never on her, even after what she did. She also didn’t see his wives. He had prepared everything, even a place to keep his wives safe.

This enraged her even more because Tang Shaoyang didn’t listen to her, but she could not blame Tang Shaoyang either.

What Tang Shaoyang said might be provocative, but she understood the intention behind it.

Tang Shaoyang was trying to tell them how they would feel if they were in his position. He was trying to tell them that he was being patient enough until now not to do anything, yet Razo insulted his wife’s right in front of his face instead.

At that moment, the Royal Knight entered the meeting hall. They were also using Bloodline Transformation, ready to fight after sensing the aura inside. They quickly surrounded Tang Shaoyang from all directions.

It was to be a peaceful negotiation, but it was blown out even more that a fight might break out.

“This is enough, Tang!” Arion was relieved that Razo’s condition stabilized; only then did he try to speak to Tang Shaoyang.

“NO! This is far from enough! Even if I take his head, this is not enough! It will never be enough!”

The response truly caught everyone off guard. It was as if Tang Shaoyang implied that it would be enough if the Hurakan Kingdom were destroyed.

“However, his head might be enough to prevent the same incident from happening. If the world knew the consequences of humiliating my wives, then they would not do it, no?”

He and his wives were getting humiliated in public, and he still endured it. It was to honor his agreement with Arion, who had given him the dragon eggs. But he had endured enough, even a random person insulted his wives in front of his face.

This reminded him of his past, the past that he wanted to forget. One of the main reasons why the Tang Empire existed was that it could not prevent the same incident.

For some reason, Arion could not refute that statement. The reason? Because he agreed with Tang Shaoyang. If the Hurakan Kingdom’s Minister of War was killed for humiliating his wives, then there was no sane person who would do what Razo did.

It made sense, but it was a whole different issue since this involved the only Hurakan Kingdom.

“Hah… You need to start choosing a successor soon, old Draxen. You can’t even control your subordinate,” Arion shook his head.

Then he stepped away from Razo, not trying to protect the unconscious man anymore. He returned to his seat, “I literally forced him to come, and I can’t stop this whole bullshit as well. So I will not stop him from killing the person who insulted his wives, too.”

Baba clicked his tongue at how irresponsible Arion was. If there was someone who could stop this madman, it was him. He felt like Tang Shaoyang only listened to Arion, and this man just said he would not try to stop Tang Shaoyang anymore.

“If you don’t persuade him, we might have to subdue him forcefully, Arion. The fight between people of our strength is unpredictable. We might accidentally kill him if we are not careful.” Valeria added.

She didn’t want the conflict to escalate into a full-blown war. She hated war; they were annoying, and she didn’t want to add more work onto her plate. Her slow life was quite satisfying, enjoying her Executive Administrator privilege.

Arion laughed when he heard that, “You are not capable. None of you can, unless you have something that can stop him from running away. You don’t even realize when he moved his wife to safety.”

That was when the other realized that Tang Shaoyang’s wives were no longer in the room. They only found two unfamiliar women, one of whom was another stunning beauty.

What Arion tried to say was that even if Tang Shaoyang could not win, they could not subdue him. He could easily escape from them.

Clementine threw the sword back to Tang Shaoyang. She reacted quicker than anyone and saved Razo’s head from the sword with her bare hand. At a glance, the sword didn’t leave a wound, but blood sprayed when she threw the sword.

She was surprised because she didn’t feel the pain of being cut. She thought she had completely stopped the sword. The cut was not deep, but her regeneration was slow. It was supposed to be an instant heal for such a shallow wound.

Clementine then turned toward The King, who seemed also in a deep thought, “How are you going to handle this? You have heard his demand.”

“Impossible!” The one who responded was not the King, but the Prime Minister. There was no way they would give Razo’s head to Tang Shaoyang. The Hurakan Kingdom would be laughed at, and its reputation would be dragged down.

At the same time, Avyn and Zara were communicating with Tang Shaoyang. They were telling him to do a few cycles of Essence of Tranquility Breathing. They wanted him to make a decision in a clear mind so he would not regret it later.

Avyn and Zara were confident that they could kill many people and escape from here. But what followed would be disastrous. The Tang Empire still had the Nirvana Alliance and the God Order. If the Hurakan Kingdom joined in, it would be more troublesome.

“I would like to apologize on my people’s behalf. It’s never my intention to shame you or your wives. However, I can’t give you his head. He might be at fault, but it doesn’t warrant his death!”

The King was upset, more than upset. He had to apologize in public because of the Imperial Investigator. Now the hot-tempered Razo insulted Tang Shaoyang’s wives. He understood why Razo crossed, because their status was never the same in the first place. How dare Tang Shaoyang compare his lowly wives with his dignified Queen? But it was something that should not be said, but kept in mind.

Clementine said nothing, waiting for Tang Shaoyang’s reaction. She expected that Tang Shaoyang might launch another attack. At this point, she was not the only one who was prepared. The King and his subordinates were ready to fight anytime.

Tang Shaoyang opened a portal as his two wives stepped out from the Tang Garden, “You can protect your subordinate, but I am not giving up. You’d better pray that we don’t ever meet again.”

He was telling everyone in the room that he would kill Razo on sight if he ever met Razo on another occasion. That was not a threat, a statement that the King’s apology meant nothing.

Tang Shaoyang took his wives to leave, heading toward the door, which was heavily guarded, but he was not intimidated in the slightest.

“We haven’t talked about my people’s spirits in your possession. It’s better for you to free them! Give them their deserved eternal rest!”

“In exchange, I will give you a chance to meet the Gods!”
