Chapter 2248: Quick and Painful Kill

Tang Shaoyang didn’t take enjoyment in the duel despite the disappointment. He was quickly ready for the next duel. A display popped out before him, announcing his next match.

[2nd Duel: Tang Shaoyang (Tang Empire) Vs Lander Vermote (Uzaborge Kingdom)]

His next opponent was from the Uzaborge Kingdom. It was to be expected as he figured the Elmsano’s bastards would want to use them to test him out. They wanted to know more about Tang Shaoyang. More likely, Luke Ponteus was the one who wanted that information to sacrifice a world like Bahmes.

Just like Marko Lozan, his second opponent took their time to appear. They truly took the five minutes to the tee, only showing up after being forcefully summoned.

Lander Vermote had already used his bloodline. His body turned into a whole fire, a mane made of fire blazed around his neck, and a fire-wing stretched out on his back. He was holding his spear, which was also covered in fire. Not just bloodline, he also used his Elemental Body.

If it were the old Tang Shaoyang, it would take him some time to take down the Elemental Body. However, he had figured out something about this elemental body that worked for most of the time. There was not a little of the Calamity Creature he encountered in his mission of clearing the abandoned world.

It was not a simple thing to do, but once he figured it out, it became simple, as it required perfect control of his energy.

The countdown started as soon as Lander Vermote appeared. This time, Tang Shaoyang put away his sword. He didn’t need a weapon to win the fight this time.

The moment the countdown finished, Tang Shaoyang’s figure disappeared. He used Blink and appeared right in front of Lander Vermote.

As if Lander could read Tang Shaoyang’s movement, he was ready with his spear thrust forward. The fire around the spear was blazing as a beast’s roar resounded.

However, Tang Shaoyang easily deflected the spear with a light tap of the back of his palm. The spear went past as Tang Shaoyang’s right hand reached Lander’s elemental body. That was right, he was reaching the elemental body, not punching or attacking.

His hand went through the fire. His palm down to his wrist was inside the fire elemental’s body. He was almost fully resistant to fire, but there was some type of fire that could still hurt him. Certainly not Lander’s fire elemental body, as he only felt the heat, nothing else from the fire.

Lander was confused at first until Tang Shaoyang discharged his Chaos Energy. Lander was still confused until he noticed something. It was when the Chaos Energy started to merge with his energy that maintained the elemental body.

Panicked, Lander was trying to get away from his enemy.

Tang Shaoyang was ready as his left hand was imbued with Absolute Domination Energy, easily canceling the elemental on the part he grabbed. He grabbed Lander’s right hand, immobilizing the latter. At the same time, he also injected the Dark Poison into Lander’s body.

He rarely utilized his Dark Poison because that was not his style to kill his enemy with poison. But this was not the place or the time for him to enjoy the fight. This was the time to kill his enemy as soon as possible.

Lander’s skin quickly turned dark as poison took action. At the same time, Tang Shaoyang managed to slip Chaos Energy into Lander’s system. Chaos Energy was a combination of Demonic Energy, Void Energy, Draconic Energy, and Heavenly Energy. Void Energy and Demonic Energy were literally poison to people, but it was worse as it poisoned the energy whirlpool and path.

That was why the antidote for Void Poison was rare, as it was hard to make. No one could mass-produce the product until Tang Shaoyang gave his energy as a sample for his Head Alchemist Yi. That was why the Cladeos Emporium didn’t hesitate to align itself with the Tang Empire the moment they knew they could get an antidote for Void Poison.

Tang Shaoyang released Lander as he leaped backward. He didn’t need to do anything, as the poison would kill Lander in the most cruel way.

Lander canceled his Elemental Body, thinking that might help him, but it was too late. The Chaos Energy was already in the system. At the same time, the dark poison quickly spread out. From the right hand to his body,

He was having a hard time coping with his infected energy as he hastily took out a vial that was supposed to be a high-grade antidote. It was a universal antidote that was supposed to work on most poisons. Even for a unique, lethal poison, it would help to stop the spread.

Lander’s strategy was to suppress the dark poison and handle his infected energy channel. That was when he realized the horror. The foreign energy was actually devouring his energy as the foreign energy multiplied.

He was trying his best to endure the pain, and grunt and groan escaped his lips. He tried to burn the poison in his channel with fire, taking the risk even though it meant ruining his energy path. To his dismay, that didn’t work because the foreign energy swallowed the fire.

As the issue with his energy hadn’t been taken care of, he realized the dark poison was not suppressed. The antidote failed to suppress the poison. His whole body turned dark, including his eyes.

That was when he saw his right hand was full of bubbles, his skin swelling like a bubble. Then it popped off as black acidic liquid burst out, landing on the grass with a sizzling sound.

”ARGGH—”

Lander screamed, but his scream turned into a mute not long after, losing his voice. That was when he realized his throat was burned. Not just his throat, his skin started to melt as well, and not long after, his organs also started to melt.

Lander Vermote writhed in pain on the ground, but no voice came out. He could surrender, but the voice didn’t come out. He tried to use his will, trying to convey his will to surrender, but he was overwhelmed by the pain and fear of doing so.

The unrecognizable body writhed on the ground for a few seconds before it stopped completely. Lander was dead, yet the poison kept doing its work until the body was completely melted. The body was turned into a puddle of black liquid.

That was how the second duel ended; another helpless soul was killed without being able to fight back. It was not as fast as the first duel, but it was still quick and agonizing. Another reason why the Tang Empire prohibited children from watching was that it was considered to be a form of entertainment.

Of course, the System didn’t care what the spectators felt as it announced the third duel.
