Chapter 2237: Interlude - Feng Yun (2)

Feng Yun followed his granduncle as a person with a weird uniform acted as a guide for them. His eyes darted around, looking around the building around him as they tracked the side of the road.

This was his first experience in the foreign world, and he was marveled by everything around him. The building was made of transparent glass, and he could see through what was inside. They were shops, and most of them were selling mundane things such as clothes, food, and more. The thing that was pretty much useless for a cultivator or even for a player.

He didn’t understand why the Tang Empire had so many of these kinds of shops. What made it even more unbelievable was that the shop had a lot of visitors. Many people were interested in those kinds of useless things.

There was also something that he admired. It was the building he came out of a few minutes ago. The tallest building was like a tower made of glass. It was like a pagoda, even taller than the Feng Family’s tower and castle. What surprised him even more was the fact that it was not just one or two, but many tall buildings aside from that one.

”We are in a civilian area. They are players, but not the type that pursue power...” Feng Zhan told the kids who looked around curiously. He could tell in a single glance that there was so little of the Epic Rank. Most of them were unranked.

Feng Yun was in awe of the weird, tall building, but that was it. Meanwhile, his sisters and cousins were clearly interested in these mundane things. They were still kids. They still desired these mundane things despite their situation. He reminded himself that he had to be the leader and guided them properly.

That was what he thought until a massive shadow cast over them. Feng Yun subconsciously looked up, which caused his mouth to gape open in shock. He saw two creatures flying above the city, and he recognized both of them.

One of them was Kirin, a mythical creature that existed in the book. He never saw one until now. But what stunned him was the creature that followed Kirin, a dragon. It was the God Realm’s dragon.

The street was, and most of the area around them was covered in the dragon’s shadow. His eyes were glued to the glinting, gold scales. His chest drummed up, and the noisy crowd started to quiet down as the sound of his heart thumping reached his ears.

The dragon didn’t exert pressure on him or anything, but he could sense how dangerous that creature was. Despite its massive size, it quickly passed over the city.

”It’s safe to assume the dragon is the guardian of the empire,” Feng Zhan told the children.

Feng Yun was the only one with an ugly expression, starting to realize the power of the Tang Empire. If he wanted to regain freedom, he must command the same power as the Tang Empire or stronger. He was confident that the Feng Family would be able to recover if they had the time and even surpass the Tang Empire. That conviction started to waver after the show of Kirin and Dragon.

”The Dragon’s name is Greed, and he is His Majesty’s companion, not the guardian of the empire, at least not officially.”

The guide in Tarrior’s uniform corrected. While he said Greed was not the Guardian, people still revered the dragon as the Guardian. Greed rarely followed His Majesty, and Greed was often found in the Dimensional Tower, occasionally sighted in the capital.

”The Tang Empire also has a beastmen race. Don’t attack them or you will be arrested!” The Tarrior added.

The children were confused about what the beastmen were, but Feng Zhan knew them. Beastmen were not rare in the God Realm, after all.

”Don’t worry. I will monitor them all so they don’t do something silly,” Feng Zhan didn’t plan to leave the children unsupervised. Especially someone like his grandnephew, who was indoctrinated by his brother.

The guide prepared a car for them, but Feng Zhan insisted on walking. He wanted the children to see what the Tang Empire was like. After passing the civilian-dense area, they entered the player-dense area.

This was the place where Adventurers and shops for players gathered. They encountered another massive glass tower, the Tang Empire Alchemist Association. He had visited the place and marveled at the products made by them.

This was the most crowded place for adventurers and merchants alike. Once more, his grandnephews were marveled by the structure. He was also surprised on his first visit, and he might have made the same expression as the children did during his first visit.

Then they finally stopped in front of the massive gate made of beautiful gold-red stone. The gate consisted of several pillars, and the gap between each pillar was about five meters.

Each pillar was engraved with a similar dragon carving, but in different poses. Above the gate was written, ”Academy of Tang”, and above the sign was a nine-headed dragon statue.

The imposing gate left a deep impression on the children. In addition, with the imposing guards with different uniforms stationed there, thirty guards were on duty right now.

Feng Zhan was itching to use his Detection, but he was smart enough not to do so. The other party might be offended by his action.

Their guide talked with one of the guards, and they were told to follow the guard. He heard about the academy where children could enter to learn with children of the same age. But this was his first time visiting the academy.

His senses could not fully cover the whole academy, but he saw several stone towers, and he sensed a stronger aura from the white tower.

”The white tower is the Divine Tower. If your children chose the priest-type healer class or awakened Light or Divine Elemental Power, they will most likely go there. Lady Lunea and Lady Kang Xue are the leaders of that tower.”

”The dark blue tower belongs to Archmage Zowen. That’s the place for mage and the Lightning Elementalist to learn and do their research...”

There were three more towers. One of them, the red tower, was under Liang Suyin and Rosalie. That was where the Fire Elementalist or mage who focused on the fire attribute to learn. There was a summoner tower under Li Na, and Jasmine also built her own mage tower.

After the Divine Tower and Zowen’s Mage Tower were built, the others followed the trend. They wanted to have their own tower. The Director of the academy, Cao Jingyi, didn’t mind having more towers as long as those towers accepted the students.

Soon, Alchemist Tower and Shadow Tower would be built as well under TEAA and TEID’s request. There will be more towers soon.

Feng Zhan and the children listened to the guard’s explanation. There was a hint of pride in his tone as he explained all the existing facilities in the academy.

”We have arrived at the third training ground. Your Majesty is waiting inside.”

The guard pointed at the entrance and left afterward.

Feng Zhan led the children inside, and Tang Shaoyang was waiting inside with a boy who looked to be the same age as Feng Yun.

The training ground was big, yet there was no one but Tang Shaoyang and a few people around him. There were several separate grounds, and it seemed Tang Shaoyang had reserved the whole training ground just for the duel.
