Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 600: Chapter 599: Rotom Cradle Form

In terms of color, the siblings both inherited a beautiful silver-white fur just like Setsuna, but their bodies also showed a few sparse black and yellow stripes, indicating Setsuna’s bloodline had a stronger influence on them.

This is also a difference between the Fur Race and humans. Although their gestation period is shorter than that of humans, as ”Beastmen,” they develop much faster.

Zeraora didn’t immediately take the children; instead, he first placed two light spheres above the heads of the infants, which slowly merged into their bodies. Soon, they fell into a deep sleep, showing no signs of fussing.

Their tiny bodies were absorbing the energy bestowed by Arceus. Just as Zeraora was about to go in and check on Setsuna, the door opened again, and Setsuna was pushed out sitting in a wheelchair.

Her body possessed a strong recovery ability, and if it weren’t for Zeraora’s constant nagging, she wouldn’t even want to sit in a wheelchair.

”Where are the kids? They were just crying incessantly, but now they’re so quiet?”

”It’s the blessing of Lord Arceus. Look, they’re so cute, with the same fur as yours.”

”But there’s also your color in them.”

Setsuna gently stroked her sister’s small bangs, while the surrounding doctors and nurses quietly left the room, as their presence had become somewhat unnecessary. Although Kaidou and Arceus hadn’t come, the other High-Level Officials on Ghost Island gradually appeared here.

Together, these people could start a war capable of destroying a nation, yet they were merely celebrating the birth of two newborns.

Besides them, there were others like Bepo and Perona, who had closer relationships, while the rest were Setsuna’s family. Hichugiskhan also appeared here to meet the newborns from Zou, subtly reminding Setsuna that the seven-year agreement was about to begin.

”Don’t say I look down on you all; I specially prepared this for the two little ones. When it comes to practicality, my gift is unbeatable.”

As he spoke, Queen took out two strange large bowl-shaped objects. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

”What is this?”

Zeraora didn’t have much of a point of contention with Queen, although Setsuna had blacklisted him a few times during their dating period because of his interruptions. Nonetheless, compared to Shaina and King’s instantaneous aggression, Setsuna preferred Queen’s sarcastic remarks.

”Cradles—the fully automatic intelligent Rotom cradles. They can heat, cool, humidify, dry, deodorize, feed, automatically alarm, float, and even have a defense system. What do you think? Quite comprehensive, right?”

Based on Rotom’s electronic core, Queen made these devices, which are highly practical and, with Rotom’s accommodation, can help manage quite a few tasks.

”Thanks, they’re really nice.”

”Later, go and ask Lord Arceus for two Rotoms yourself. Once they reside in these, the cradles will become even smarter.”

Queen’s fully intelligent cradle set a precedent, and others also had their gifts. Though they weren’t as skilled as Queen, they provided a full range of basics required for the kids.

Some things couldn’t even be bought with money. For instance, Shaina sewed a set of clothes for the Fur Race babies, while King created some small toys following Lunarian tradition—things that money couldn’t solve.

Asie and Olga prepared some consumables like diapers, clearly having coordinated beforehand to complete the set.

Nightin prepared some specially formulated bath incense for the Fur Race. Although it wasn’t highly valuable, it held a lot of meaning.

They were just the first batch; even though the intensive care room was large, it couldn’t fit so many people. As High-Level Officials, they had their own duties and left after a brief visit.

After them, the new generation of the Hundred Beasts Pirate Crew also arrived.

”What adorable babies... Can I hold one for a bit?”

Maria’s maternal instincts kicked in again as she gazed at the newborns, making a somewhat excessive request.

”Wait until they’re a bit older; they’re still too small now.”

Judging by Maria’s size, the babies would hardly be noticeable in her arms, so Setsuna didn’t consent to her request.

”What a pity, then let’s wait till a bit later. Here’s my gift; save it for future use.”

After the first wave of gifts, subsequent gifts inevitably began to duplicate in nature. Page One gave two small hats, while Ulti presented them with two bracelets, little items she made herself, one of her hobbies.

As for Yamato... on her back, she carried a large canister of top-grade Miltank milk powder, made from the highest-grade Miltank milk.

”Oh, and my father asked me to convey that he doesn’t have anything good to give, but he can help teach the children in the future if needed.”

”Uh... please thank Mr. Kaidou for me, but I think it’s unnecessary.”

Setsuna wiped the imaginary sweat from her forehead, feeling that this gift was rather gratuitous. She herself had gone through Kaidou’s training in the past, and it wasn’t a life anyone should have to endure; her children shouldn’t go through that torment.

”I don’t think it’s necessary either, so I already declined it on your behalf. Who would want something like that, other than, oh wait, Sasaki might be interested.”

In Yamato’s view, nobody would be interested in that sort of thing unless something was wrong with their head. However, Ghost Island did have such a person—Sasaki, a fervent fan of Kaidou.

This new generation was the last group to visit. Ordinary pirates had no opportunity to forge connections here. After Yamato and the others left, family time remained.

”Hmm... these two children don’t really resemble me.”

”Nonsense! You’re the grandfather; what use is it if the kids look like you?!”

Listening to Hatch’s complaints, Ling delivered a solid whack to his head. The Fur Race often showed characteristics of their own kind, so it was evident that Hatch, with his Husky lineage, was displaying his silliness again.

”By the way, sister, have you thought about the names for the children?”

”Not yet; we only name them on their first birthday, right?”

It’s a typical custom of the Fur Race to officially name a child a year later with no set rules—sometimes relating to their species, other times to their sounds.

”Then can I name them?”

”Okay, Wanda, naming them doesn’t really concern you. Let’s take a new family photo first.”

Wanda was interested in having the naming rights for the kids but was promptly denied by Ling, who then took out a camera.

Zou previously had a scarcity of supplies, but cameras were something brought back by seafaring members of the Fur Race, turning photography into a way to commemorate new members of Zou.
