Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 577: Chapter 576: Drizzile and Robin’s Return

For a professional in religion, missionary work is a very important task, and it also depends on one’s talent. Although she has been conducting missionary work in Wano Kuni for quite some time, and this activity is supported by local forces, the results can only be considered relatively good.

The adopted children are doing well, but although there are many devout followers among others, no ”fanatics” have appeared. Mandfeish has never done such things before, and yet immediately developed such a devout non-human follower.

Some parts of those doctrines contain deep meanings she wrote, and Tiger was the first person to comprehend this layer without any explanation.

Because of this, she thinks Mandfeish might have a talent in this area and could be developed significantly.

”I think... Brother Mandfeish probably wouldn’t be keen on this matter.”

”Why? I think he has a lot of talent.”

”Sister Misu, may I ask at what age do you plan to retire?”

”Retire? There’s no such thing as retirement for a nun.”

”That’s why Brother Mandfeish wouldn’t be interested, after all, his biggest goal is to retire smoothly.”

This is why Jack concluded that Mandfeish wouldn’t be interested. While others set sail with grand ideals like becoming the Pirate King or the world’s number one, for Mandfeish, it’s all about retirement.

But the prerequisites for retirement are increasing, he even began pondering how to pave the way for children.

”That’s a pity, perhaps when he returns I’ll talk to him myself, and as for this hero of the Fishman Race... he seems to have understood some things that even I didn’t think of.”

Due to differing races, Tiger was considering these matters from another level, which provided Misu some insight—she realized her perspective was too narrow.

Tiger also expressed in a letter his wish to discuss some matters with her, but due to real-life circumstances, he wasn’t sure when he could come here. Even before meeting him, Misu was already intrigued by this.

As for why not use the Radio Snail to communicate, it’s because some words can’t be expressed through the Radio Snail, there are things that can only be thoroughly discussed face to face.

In reality, there are countless people who are timid but daring virtually, a peculiar form of ”social anxiety”.

”Sister Misu, Lord Kaidou has sent me to select two subordinates.”

”The children who are of age are over there, if you want to select manpower, go ahead, they all have enough loyalty to the Lord and are surely able to aid the Lord’s cause.”

Misu had seen Jack’s Wanted Poster, and before the destruction of Freyvans, she thought those with bounties were all villains, but now she believes she was wrong.

Indeed, many of those people are villains, but some are forced by circumstances.

People are more inclined to believe what they see with their eyes, she had witnessed the ruthless massacre of Freyvans by neighboring nations, and saw how the World Government only withdrew the royal family and also saw the World Government’s investigation into Platinum Lead years ago.

Since then, she has not trusted the World Government anymore, so seeing the Wanted Posters here doesn’t feel any different.

Especially the Wanted Poster of Arceus, in her view, it’s simply ”evil” fearing her Lord.

The Monastery now serves multiple roles like missionary work, school, orphanage, etc. Aside from orphaned children, some pirate offspring are also living and growing up here, as well as some pirate interns.

There aren’t many candidates to choose from, just over twenty people in total. Hearing that Kaidou had appointed new officers to select subordinates, they all hoped that they would be the ones chosen.

Some of the girls had gone through the last subordinate selection by Yamato and thought it would be similar to that competition, but Jack’s method of selection was quite unique.

Alcremie didn’t understand those bizarre things, and eventually, a boy eating an orange and a girl with candy in her pocket were chosen by Alcremie, just because the smell of the food made Alcremie like them more, they managed to stand out from the crowd.

”Name.”

”Sheepshead.” An ordinary boy with short white hair, judging by his muscle lines, his body is fairly well trained.

”Ginrummy.” A girl with fuchsia hair, her name only differs by one character from Rami.

Both had body builds within normal human range, though they were about the same age, in front of Jack, they seemed very insignificant.

”You two will follow me from now on, but let’s be clear, if you act cowardly or make mistakes, I won’t hold back.”

He didn’t immediately give them the fruit, because due to Alcremie’s influence, he chose these two as subordinates, but the fruit was not necessarily for them. Instead, he showed it in front of them, setting it as their goal of endeavor.

...

Jack’s method of selection made Yamato feel very bored, but after leaving the Monastery, she unexpectedly saw Robin outside the Hidden Port of Hakumai.

”Robin?! You’re back!”

”Yeah, I’ve seen a lot of things these past two years, and this time I found some really interesting documents, so I’m bringing them back for everyone to see first.”

After leaving here, Nico Robin wandered outside for more than two years and saw a lot of things, this time she returned early to visit friends and family.

Even though she didn’t find Plates or similar things, her work involving Poneglyphs, some transactions with the Donquixote Clan, and her job in Tesoro are considered special ”achievements”.

These experiences have enriched her knowledge considerably.

”Has your Sobble evolved?”

”Yes, three months ago while facing an enemy, it evolved into Drizzile, isn’t it cute?”

”Uh...maybe.”

Unlike the elegance and coldness of an Inteleon or the cuteness of Sobble, the intermediate form Drizzile looks somewhat embarrassing,

Drizzile’s skin turned dull, its teary eyes were gone, and now its skin had patches of dark green.

Overall, it looked like a depressed little delinquent, but this image surprisingly aligned with Robin’s aesthetic.

”I’ll talk to you later, I need to go discuss something with Mom and Doctor Clover.”

With that, Robin headed back to the place where the scholars lived on Sky Island, where she also saw Saul who looked like a farmer.

”Saul, it seems you’re living quite well.”

”Hey, hee hee hee, not too bad. It’s great to see you back safely, go find Olvia first, she’s been missing you lately.”

With that said, Saul put down his hoe and climbed up along the vine. Indeed, there were more Altarias, but Saul wasn’t within their carrying capacity, as a member of the Giant Race, Saul was overweight.

Robin’s return attracted a lot of attention, like Olvia’s connection, and some paleontology researchers were curious about Drizzile, and Doctor Clover was planning to impart some new secrets to Robin.
