Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 565: Chapter 564: Showdown Between the Slackers

”What a terrifying monster, but could you avoid attacking my subordinates? Otherwise, I’ll be in a tough spot when I get back.”

Currently, Borsalino is the only one capable of launching a laser attack. Despite calling Jack frightening, there wasn’t a trace of tension in his eyes. This type of large opponent is the least of his fears.

The huge and cumbersome figure is just a sitting duck, and its clumsy attacks can’t hit him, reducing the threat level to nearly zero.

”When fighting me... don’t get distracted! Don’t underestimate people!”

A blue Dragon Claw brushed past his face. It was perilous, but in the end, he managed to dodge it.

”Mandfeish... why are you here? This matter has nothing to do with you, right? I received a distress call before I even finished my tea.”

”Because of a mission, I wanted to rest at home too. How about we pretend we didn’t see each other and leave separately?”

”A good suggestion, but no. You’re a pirate, and if I just let you go, Sengoku-san will scold me. How about you surrender? My tea is quite good, and Impel Down can prepare a private room for you.

Oh, no, you wouldn’t be sent there. The Science Corps is very curious about you, Kaidou II.”

With abilities strikingly similar to Kaidou and the discovery that Mandfeish seems to have a swimming ability, higher-ups are very curious about him.

His abilities are hard to capture, which is why no excessive measures have been taken. Despite Kizaru’s lazy nature, he’s still a future candidate for the Three Great Admirals; his slacking is relative.

A person who only slacks off can’t rise to high ranks. A good slacker knows when to work. For Borsalino, the current situation is an opportunity.

Rescuing Strawberry follows the same logic. Both are from Zephyr’s training camp, both are headquarter officers, and Strawberry, now under his command, is part of his faction.

He certainly wouldn’t allow Jack to land another fatal blow just like that.

”Sorry, I’m not interested in drinking tea or being researched. Water Dragon Twister!”

Mandfeish’s tail stirred up a tumult of water. This is Aqua Tail, but it’s his version of it.

As Aqua Tail approached Borsalino, powerful water blades instantly shot out from the gaps in the scales on his tail. Combined with the rotation of Aqua Tail, Mandfeish wielded it like a Water Razor, trying to engulf Borsalino within.

After Mega Evolution, Gyarados’s attributes changed from Water + Flying to Water + Dark, but that doesn’t mean he got slower. Few Pokemon lose their proud speed due to Mega Evolution, such as the unfortunate Garchomp.

His inherent speed hasn’t changed. Mega Evolution has granted Gyarados even more strength, along with unique bodily transformations, making Mandfeish more agile and swift than before.

There are many ways for Pokemon to fly, and wings are just one of them. Post-Mega, Gyarados borrowed Garchomp’s flying method, only switching from jet propulsion to water propulsion.

Mega Gyarados can emit supersonic water jets from between its scales. The powerful water jets not only provide greater propulsion but can also serve as a means of attack in the form of water blades.

”That’s quite a dangerous attack. Employing water abilities, those guys will surely become more curious, but do you have enough stamina?”

The release of lasers also consumes his stamina, so from Borsalino’s perspective, Mandfeish’s water power is likewise derived from stamina conversion, suggesting that such an attack method won’t last long.

But he’s only half right—Water-type Pokemon Ability Users inherently have an unscientific water storage capacity. Most of the water Mandfeish is releasing now is sea water stored during his transformation. The downside is that if he reverts to human form, all this water will be prematurely released.

That’s why outside of battle, Mandfeish doesn’t pre-store water.

He can also utilize external water or convert stamina into water, and as long as he isn’t in a desert, there’s no worry.

”That’s none of your naval business, and it’s about time.”

Boom!

Thunder rumbled across the sky, thick clouds shrouded the sun, and torrential rain poured down, turning the ground muddy in an instant.

”It’s raining... did you know it would rain?”

”I’ve always been lucky. Unlike monsters like you from the beginning, I’ve been able to reach this point step by step thanks to my good luck.”

Getting rewards through luck, slamming the table to find the Plate, encountering Rushaka through luck—he believes his achievements are closely tied to his peculiar luck.

However, this rain was indeed his doing. From the moment he saw that flash, he initiated Rain Dance, though the rain arrived a bit late.

”It’s raining...”

Seeing the rain from the sky, joy appeared on the faces of the approaching Fishman Race. They’re an aquatic race and can exhibit stronger combat power even on land with rainwater’s aid.

The Navy’s defenses were already breached, and Tiger, supported by two fishmen on their shoulders, started retreating towards the coast.

”Retreat, don’t waste time.”

Seeing Strawberry in the crater, Jack decided not to attack further.

If Mandfeish said Borsalino is difficult, he must indeed be troublesome. The longer they stayed, the greater the potential risk to Mandfeish.

It seemed the opponent wouldn’t allow him to kill any of their subordinates, so there was no need to waste time here.

After disengaging his transformation, Jack began rushing towards the coast, and Jinbe and the others also had no intent to fight on. The Sun Pirates, covering Tiger, began to head towards The Sea.

Borsalino didn’t ignore Mandfeish to attack Tiger and the others, because there was a slight tear on his collar, a result of Mandfeish’s earlier fight.

He’s not afraid of this opponent in front of him, but he can’t underestimate him. Attacking others right in front of him wasn’t a wise move, and in terms of value, Tiger can be dealt with later. Mandfeish himself holds far more value than Tiger.

”Looks like you’ve decided to cover their retreat. You’re quite the big brother.”

”Covering their retreat doesn’t change the fact that the prophecy says I’ll return safely.”

”Oh? You actually believe in prophecies?”

”Not really, but that young girl’s prophecies haven’t been wrong so far. I have to strive to keep her reputation clean.”

At this moment, Mandfeish’s scale armor slightly expanded to all sides, and he assumed a particular stance, with arms slightly bent and elbows pointed outward.

”Dragon Dance: Water Spiral Kill!”

Enhanced by Dragon Dance, Mandfeish began to move, while jets of water sprayed from the gaps in his scale armor all over his body.
