Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 599: Chapter 598: Fur Race Psychics

”Zeraora! I’ve never heard of anyone in Zou needing to be hospitalized in advance for childbirth. Aren’t you being overly cautious?”

At the top floor of the Hundred Beasts Pokemon Center, in the special care ward, as the due date approached, Zeraora directly relocated Setsuna’s address here. But to Setsuna, it seemed overly cautious; she could still draw a full bow and shoot down Sea King Types over The Sea, not feeling weak at all.

Moreover, whether during the childhood life in Zou or later returning to Zou to visit family, the women in Zou worked as usual during pregnancy, and there were no cases where pregnancy affected their ability to work.

As for hospitalization, it wasn’t necessary at all; generally, doctors only handled things when it was time for delivery.

Her current strength made her the strongest of the Fur Race in Zou, and she felt this treatment was entirely unnecessary.

”There, there, it’s just a few days. Afterward, I’ll take you to have some fun in the South Sea.”

Zeraora didn’t argue but chose to offer a bribe, not intending to change his mind.

Setsuna was helpless against this because, at the last moment, even Hatch had switched sides, thinking that moving in early wasn’t a bad idea.

”Moo~~!”

A long trumpet sound of an elephant came from afar. Through the top floor’s windows, the figure of the elephant lord was visible, and its Aura was also connected to Setsuna’s Aura.

”Even you know...”

As a member of the Fur Race who could communicate with the elephant lord, Setsuna even received blessings from it, as the elephant lord had been lingering nearby for a long time.

Since Hichugiskhan’s check-up, it had been circling the area, and if not for concerns about blocking sunlight, it could have stood still for months.

Miyagi was the only doctor of the Fur Race, but he also had a few assistants, which included some female Fur Race members to handle situations where he couldn’t appear, such as childbirth.

The Hundred Beasts Pokemon Center had advanced medical conditions and a well-established gynecology team, but due to the Fur Race’s identity, Zeraora contacted the Fur Race’s nurses.

...

Time passed quickly, and according to the doctors’ estimates, Setsuna’s due date was in the next two days, which made Zeraora even more nervous, eventually getting kicked out by Setsuna because he was becoming a bit of a nuisance.

He knew there was no big problem, but he couldn’t sit still, so he flew to Ghost Island.

”Master, are you here?”

”Didn’t you already see, Zeraora? You’re too tense. No need to worry so much.”

Two globes of light then floated into Zeraora’s hand.

”I won’t go over there. If I go, you won’t be able to let loose. These are blessings for your children; they have no other effect but can ensure they grow up safely. As for anything else, let’s wait until they’re older.”

The effect of these two light globes was to optimize the children’s bodies through one’s own power, allowing them to grow healthier. It’s a scientific yet unscientific miracle that this shows that the peak of science is the intuitive manifestation of theology.

”Thank you for your blessings, but I have a question. What will these two children... actually be?”

This was something Zeraora couldn’t figure out either; he didn’t know if his children would be like him or like Setsuna.

”Neither, they will be two very special individuals.”

According to Arceus’ prediction, the children of Setsuna and Zeraora would neither be pure Fur Race nor Pokemon; they would be highly distinctive individuals.

In the world of Pokemon, there are Psychics, and these abilities are often hereditary within families, meaning that this power is present in their bloodline.

According to historical records, there have been instances of Pokemon marrying humans. Since humans in this world are considered a special type of Pokemon, it is inferred that they inherited some of the Pokemon’s powers.

Power of the Evergreen, a force recognized by the world, isn’t considered, but Psychic powers and Aura Power wide prevail among Pokemon, which are similar to humanoid Pokemon.

So it’s highly likely that these Psychics’ powers come from the Pokemon bloodline of their ancestors, this hidden gene embedded in their bloodline, awakening at specific moments.

Although there’s Elizabeth as an example, Elizabeth is a special case of parthogenesis, which resulted in Sobble.

Both Setsuna and Zeraora are unique. Setsuna is a person with Pokemon abilities but essentially still part of the Fur Race. Even though she underwent direct modification, it doesn’t mean she became a Lucario.

Observing a fetus and not an egg during prenatal check-ups had already indicated this point.

Compared to this ability, the likelihood of inheriting Aura Power seems higher.

Zeraora is also a modified Pokemon, and their union produced a mysterious reaction.

Theoretically, these two children would inherit Zeraora’s ”electric” power and Setsuna’s Aura Power as special members of the Fur Race, not Pokemon, rather considered as the Fur Race ”Psychics.”

”Is that so...?”

”Zeraora, you should leave now.”

”Master, you mean...”

”I sense the advent of new life; your children are about to be born.”

Before the words faded, Zeraora turned into a flash of lightning and vanished from the spot.

At the Hundred Beasts Pokemon Center, things happened suddenly. Just a few minutes after Zeraora left, Setsuna felt a twinge in her abdomen and was subsequently rushed to the delivery room.

”Where is Zeraora?!”

Earlier, Zeraora was always nearby, appearing within seconds when called out, as if he’d mastered teleportation. But at the last crucial moment, he disappeared instead.

”Setsuna said he was being a nuisance and told him to go outside and calm down.”

”Wait, I’ll just call brother-in-law.”

Wanda was just rummaging for her Radio Snail when Zeraora jumped through the window. In a hurry, he didn’t have time to take the door.

”How is it?”

No one cared where he’d gone; they merely pointed to the now-closed door. They weren’t worried about any issues—strictly speaking, apart from Zeraora, no one thought there’d be any problem.

The maternal strength impacts the conditions during childbirth; in theory, the weaker someone is, the more problems are likely. Charlotte Linlin gave birth to ten children today, yet the next day, she could take her Homies to battle.

Setsuna might not compare to Charlotte Linlin, but she was also a rare powerhouse, let alone all the equipment and ready doctors here.

No odd situations arose, and in just 15 minutes, the doors reopened, and a Fur Race nurse came out holding two children.

”Congratulations, it’s a pair of brother and sister.”

Within their swaddling clothes, the two infants’ appearances could already be clearly seen: the brother inherited the wolf-like lineage from Setsuna, while the sister, influenced by Zeraora, was a cute little cat...
