Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 591: Chapter 590: Darkrai’s Assistance

The flowing white hair, the black body, the red scarf-like thing draped around his shoulders, it was Darkrai, and that black hole was his signature skill.

Back then, Arceus created him in the West Sea, and since then, he has been walking the path in search of the Netherworld. Although he was the original life created by Arceus, he rarely set foot on Ghost Island.

Years of pursuit led Darkrai to confirm one thing: the space of the Netherworld is not fixed but is a moving space. Only that entrance is the unique passage, but he has yet to find it.

Each Pokémon created by Arceus has its unique attributes: Larvitar’s gluttony and social anxiety, Diancie’s elegance, Genesect’s systematization, Zeraora’s realism, Manaphy’s purity, and as for this Darkrai...he is a bit of a lost cause.

He found his way here from the West Sea only because his sense of direction was somewhat confused, but as he passed by here, he detected the fluctuation he had been pursuing, a unique fluctuation belonging to the Soul Space.

Although it wasn’t exactly what he was looking for, such a similar thing was likely of the same origin, which is why Darkrai rushed over here, and just as he arrived, he saw a Heracross created by Arceus being attacked.

Saving it was but a small effort for him. Darkrai couldn’t watch other Pokémon die in front of him, so he opened a black hole to bring the other to safety.

”Hera, Hera...”

Heracross sensed the special aura on Darkrai and gestured at the Singing Demon King while calling out, and the Singing Demon King did not stop its actions.

Upon seeing Darkrai appear, the skulls surrounding it spat several beams of light toward Darkrai.

Seeing the enemy’s attack, Darkrai raised his hands, and a transparent barrier instantly blocked the attack. Moreover, Darkrai’s Protect was not to protect himself but to invert the inside and outside of the Protect barrier, covering the Singing Demon King.

Darkrai is a Pokémon with its group, and there is a significant disparity in strength within the group.

When Arceus created this Darkrai, it almost exhausted the power within the Dread Plate at that time, so this Darkrai is a Darkrai focused on high-level scenarios.

Many abilities’ applications are also more diverse; Protect, in his hands, also became a means to restrict the opponent’s attack.

Then a dark aura appeared on Darkrai, followed by a gust of ominous wind toward the still-roaring Singing Demon King, it was Ominous Wind, a skill mastered as Darkrai increased his level.

Under the baptism of this ominous wind, even the Demon King let out a miserable wail, its arms flailing wildly.

”This thing....”

Seeing the still rampant Singing Demon King, a fury also arose in Darkrai’s heart, his exposed eyes flickering with blue light, and subsequently, the body of the Singing Demon King seemed to be paralyzed. Although it kept trembling, it was obviously restrained.

That was Disable, later known as Petrification, which in the game is depicted as sealing one of the opponent’s skills, making them unable to use it for several turns. However, in a real environment, the power of Disable is stronger, as it can, quite literally, restrict the opponent’s actions.

Although not knowing why, the cessation of the Singing Demon King was good for everyone, and Shanks also looked at the strange figure floating in the night sky.

Darkrai and Zeraora are somewhat different; he is very tall. After being created, Darkrai’s body size gradually increased during his long travels, although he typically doesn’t have legs, the visible form reached 1.8 meters.

At this moment, Tesoro also flew beside Darkrai.

”How long can this control last?”

Darkrai’s identity had long been transmitted into the information bank of the officials, and upon seeing Darkrai’s distinctive form, Tesoro naturally recognized him.

Although Darkrai wasn’t very familiar with Tesoro, the abilities endowed upon him by Arceus served as the most effective identity certificate, by default making him an ally to Darkrai. After thinking about it carefully, he also recalled who this person actually was.

”I can hold on for a few more minutes. During this time, you all better resolve this weird thing quickly, it’s not the target I’m looking for.”

”No, this thing is a bit tricky....”

Tesoro explained to Darkrai a bit on how to defeat the Singing Demon King.

”Can you help control it a bit longer? The damage already inflicted upon this island is far too great.”

”Hera, Hera!”

Heracross also floated beside Darkrai, its call filled with a pleading meaning.

”I see, so that’s the person you chose....”

On the path of searching for the Netherworld, Darkrai was also on his journey; he had seen human evil and glimpses of kindness. If someone aligned with his intentions, he’d lend a helping hand when appropriate.

”No need for such trouble. I have a more straightforward method. All it takes is attacking it in both worlds at the same time, right?”

”Exactly...”

”Is that redhead also one of yours?”

”No, but we’re temporary allies.”

”Very well, then follow me, and remember to bring Rotom along.”

Saying this, Darkrai lowered his altitude and came to Shanks’ presence.

”To be brief, I can open the passage to that space. It’s a world where ordinary human bodies cannot enter. Next, I’ll launch an attack inside the Dream World, you’ll cooperate with me from outside.”

Then Darkrai hypnotized Tesoro’s Rotom, making its screen display a scene of a dream.

”I temporarily connected here, the things displayed on this screen show the situation inside.”

Dreams are among Darkrai’s abilities. Although he cannot control the content of nightmares, merely causing others to enter them passively, transferring the dream using this method is rather easy.

”You better hurry up, it doesn’t matter much to me, but once I enter, that girl will start being influenced by nightmares. The faster you finish, the shorter her dreaming time.”

”Understood, we will fully cooperate with you.”

Shanks assumed Darkrai was a companion of Tesoro, and with such ability, this crisis ought to be resolved as soon as possible.

Speaking, Darkrai waved his hands, opening an entirely new black hole in front of him.

”Hera!”

”Don’t worry, I’ll help you.” Darkrai’s willingness to intervene in this matter was more because of Heracross. To him, Pokémon were more important than humans.

Leaving the assurance, Darkrai plunged into the black hole.

With Darkrai disappearing from here, the out-of-control Singing Demon King sprang into action once more.

”Men! Fully cooperate with that mysterious person and save our Songstress!!”
