The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chapter 77: Chapter 76: Comprehensive Table of Food Incompatibilities

Promoted.

This means that starting today, Fu Yu can take orders and cook independently.

However, for prudence, he still has to continue working alongside Zhao Meng for now.

When an order comes in, he chooses first.

He picks the dishes he’s good at, leaving the rest for Zhao Meng to handle.

In the future, when he can completely handle orders on his own, he can truly team up with Zhao Meng to work.

The head chef takes eight parts, and he takes two parts.

Although it seems a little less, the store’s business is good and there are many orders.

Plus, with the year-end bonus, it calculates to about four to five thousand yuan a month.

This is exactly double his previous salary.

Fu Yu is very satisfied with this.

”Garlic steamed razor clams, deep-fried yellow croaker, I can make these two dishes!”

Fu Yu greeted Zhao Meng, and after getting permission, he tore off the two dishes from the order sheet and stuck them on the kitchen wall in front of him.

Fu Yu’s dedicated cooking station is right next to Zhao Meng’s.

It was originally used for storing ingredients, but now it’s cleared out, with a stove and cooking utensils installed.

Garlic steamed razor clams, Fu Yu made it over forty times at the music restaurant, so he is well experienced.

As for the deep-fried yellow croaker, it was something he almost did every day when helping in the kitchen before.

Frying isn’t difficult, and he has definite control over the seasoning.

Fu Yu made the two dishes smoothly and quickly.

Zhao Meng was busy with his own tasks while glancing at Fu Yu cooking.

Watched from start to finish, he suddenly felt a sense of pride, like seeing a student of his maturing for the first time.

Look, this handsome chef with smooth skills was trained by him, just seeing that brings a sense of achievement!

At this time, Yao Shi came in from outside and went straight to Fu Yu, instructing, ”Come find me when you’re done, there’s something I need to talk to you about.”

Fu Yu dared not delay since Yao Shi had something to say.

He quickly finished the plating in his hand and handed it over to the food runner, then greeted Zhao Meng and ran over to find Yao Shi.

Yao Shi smiled and said, ”Here’s the thing, the presentation of the Harvest Braised Dish you made yesterday looked very good. The boss wants to incorporate this plating style in the kitchen. From now on, the Harvest Braised Dish in the store will have two types, a regular and an innovative presentation.”

Fu Shou nodded, ”Okay.”

Yao Shi looked at Fu Yu, not surprised by his response.

However, he did not express happiness about it, instead seriously asked, ”Do you know how much profit this innovative presentation of the Harvest Braised Dish can bring to the store?”

”If an innovative dish is well-promoted, it can become a signature dish of the store. Do you know how many customers would choose to try and order it because of this signature dish?”

Fu Yu was taken aback by the question.

Does this relate to him?

Yao Shi looked at Fu Yu’s bewildered expression and sighed inwardly.

Still very little worldly experience.

Too pure, can’t even hide his emotions.

Through these encounters, Yao Shi has come to understand Fu Yu somewhat.

He knows that Fu Yu is very talented in cooking, and looks forward to him going far down this path.

But to tread well and steadily in this field, one must understand many things.

With Yao Shi’s current status, he generally doesn’t bother advising others.

The reason for pointing this out is because he appreciates Fu Yu.

After understanding Fu Yu, he naturally felt a fondness for talented people and would take extra care.

But Fu Yu is still very young.

If Fu Yu is an uncut jade, still needing shaping, then Yao Shi considers himself the best craftsman.

Fu Yu carefully reconsidered what Yao Shi said.

He could see that Yao Shi’s intention was to give him a hint.

Yao Shi meant that his innovative platter for the Harvest Braised Dish is now going to be used by the boss.

He was likely hinting that such innovative ideas for dishes shouldn’t be transferred for free under normal circumstances.

After all, before, Yao Shi had decided to pay by the hour for Fu Yu’s method over the balloon noodle issue.

Fu Yu figured it out and, understanding Yao Shi’s thoughtfulness, gratefully said, ”Chef Yao, thank you for your guidance, I understand now.”

But understanding doesn’t help.

He’s just a kitchen assistant, and even after promotion, just an ordinary chef.

If the boss wants to use his plating idea, what can he do but offer it willingly? Should he haggle with the boss?

Yao Shi saw Fu Yu had got the idea, smiled, and said, ”It’s good that you understand. I have negotiated for you, and you’ll receive a reward of five hundred yuan for this dish, which the finance department will include in your salary this month.”

Fu Yu was overjoyed immediately, ”Great, thank you, Chef Yao.”

Yao Shi chuckled, ”I’m just informing you, when you have time, teach Chef Zhao the innovative method for the Harvest Braised Dish.”

[Ding! NPC Chef Yao Shi’s task: Teach Chef Zhao Meng the innovative method for the Harvest Braised Dish. Task reward: 20 yuan, +1 skill point]

[Ding! NPC restaurant owner Dong Jun Tian inspired by you will launch the innovative version of the Harvest Braised Dish. Reward: A copy of Food Incompatibility Chart]

The phone vibrated slightly.

Fu Yu was a bit surprised.

Food Incompatibility Chart?!

As the name suggests, it must be an encyclopedia on the symbiosis and incompatibility of foods.

Fu Yu didn’t have much knowledge in this area.

Only knew some common incompatible food types.

Because of the work environment, he actually didn’t pay much attention to food incompatibility.

After all, the recipes in restaurants are handed down through generations, and no one has ever had issues eating them.

Chefs follow the recipes and don’t consider such matters.

After all, restaurants don’t do medicinal cuisine.

As long as it doesn’t harm anyone, who cares about compatibility or great nutrition?

In fact, although many foods have their benefits, everything has symbiosis and incompatibility.

Compatible things together can enhance positive effects, achieving a result greater than the sum of its parts.

Incompatible foods together can have a subtractive effect.

Fu Yu thought about it.

Although this Food Incompatibility Chart might not be needed now, considering the previous Gourmet Banquet Recipes he got were already phenomenal.

This Food Incompatibility Chart might probably be amazing too!

After the conversation, Fu Yu went back to tell Zhao Meng about the Harvest Braised Dish.

Zhao Meng was very interested.

Taking advantage of the idle time in the afternoon without orders, he had Fu Yu make it once on the spot.

Zhao Meng was astonished after seeing it.

He simply never thought Fu Yu could come up with such a clever way to present the Harvest Braised Dish.

The innovative method for the Harvest Braised Dish isn’t complicated either, the thin pancakes are made by the chef, and they just normally make the Harvest Braised Dish, adding an extra step of rolling pancakes and squeezing potato yam paste when plating.

Zhao Meng watched once and got it, and when he tried doing it himself, he perfectly replicated the taste and plating effect Fu Yu demonstrated.

The next second.

[Ding! NPC Chef Yao Shi’s task: Teach Chef Zhao Meng the innovative method for the Harvest Braised Dish, successfully completed, reward: 20 yuan, +1 skill point]

The phone vibrated slightly.

Got one more skill point.

Fu Yu calculated, adding the previous 4 points, he now has 5 points.

Nice!
