THE GOD EATER

However, a month later, when he was done with his preparations, he received a message that he had been dropped from Earthly Battlefield E6-137 and transferred to another Earthly Battlefield that had an urgent need for rank 4 cultivators.

This new Earthly Battlefield was the same one that he had been assigned to in the previous timeline when he tried to enter Earthly Battlefield E6-137 one month later. Amelia told him that he had been assigned there because he hadn’t reported for duty in Earthly Battlefield E6-137 yet.

Apparently, because he hadn’t reported for duty yet, the sect could still mobilize him to another Earthly Battlefield. So now he could forget about getting access to Earthly Battlefield E6-137.

This time, he didn’t bother to try luring Lady Red out. He also didn’t tell Amelia to help him send Greg out because he knew that she had no reason to do that for him when she obviously had plans for Greg.

So he committed suicide and went back in time to start again. This put him in a bad mood because he had been stuck in the same place for two timelines and hadn’t made any major progress ever since he decided to tail Skarg and Slav.

If he knew that his stagnation was all because of Slav, he would be in a worse mood. If he knew that Slav was causing him to have bad luck, he would also kill Slav as soon as he awakened in the awakening room to prevent Slav from troubling him.

But he is greedy and wants to be able to track Slav, so he placed a mark on Slav while he went ahead with his things instead of killing Slav. This time, he reached out to Amelia first and didn’t bother signing up for the Earthly Battlefield.

Like the previous timeline, Amelia accepted his offer and sent a contract to him. After he signed the contract, she made moves to help him get assigned to Earthly Battlefield E6-137.

So even without registering for the mission, the sect sent a request for him to take up a position as a captain in Earthly Battlefield E6-137.

The sect wasn’t forcing him to take the mission. He could accept it or reject it.

Without thinking about it, he chose to accept the mission. Then he rushed over to Earthly Battlefield E6-137 as soon as possible.

He reported for duty and stayed inside Earthly Battlefield E6-137. Then he ordered the Branch Metacs and the other resources that he needed.

A month later, when he was ready, he went to Amelia and asked her to help him contact Lady Red.

Amelia became skeptical when she heard his request. She said to him, “Who is Lady Red?”

This question made him roll his eyes at her and say, “Don’t play games with me. I don’t have time to waste with you.”

“Don’t worry. I want to make a deal with her. I am not looking for her to bring trouble to you.”

Amelia still didn’t believe him, so he said, “How about this? In order to show my sincerity, I am willing to sign a contract with you.”

“If you help me arrange a meeting with Lady Red, I will do you a favor when you reach rank 5. You can also add in the contract that I mustn’t create trouble for you, and that if you have to pay any price for arranging this meeting with her, I will have to pay you double the price you paid.”

His offer was tempting, so Amelia said, “Make it quadruple the price.”

But Loki shook his head and said, “Triple the price is as much as I can go.”

The two of them haggled for a while longer. The process was tedious, but it ended in success. He had to sign a disadvantageous contract, but Amelia agreed to help him contact Lady Red.

She said, “If not for the fact that you’re useful to me and will help me conquer this Earthly Battlefield, I wouldn’t do this for you. I am not doing it just because of the benefits that you offered.”

Loki nodded in understanding and said some perfunctory words. Then he read through the contract to ensure that there was nothing like enslavement within it.

As long as he wasn’t going to lose his freedom to reverse time anytime he wanted, he was willing to sign anything. But as usual, Amelia didn’t try to steal his freedom. All her tricks were just for her to rip him off and earn more in the deal.

After getting her contract, Amelia got to work immediately. The first thing she did was to prepare an excuse to expel Greg from the world.

Amelia couldn’t just ask to meet Lady Red and bring a stranger along with her. She had to have a good reason for asking for the meeting, so she used the same old method of sacrificing Greg.

Loki could already guess how she would get Lady Red to appear, and he thought about following Greg and kidnapping the loudmouth when they got outside. But he decided to go along with his original plan since even if he had Greg, Amelia was still unlikely to trust him.

However, he waited for Greg to be dismissed for a long time without any news. When news finally arrived, it was bad news.

Amelia sent a message to him saying, “Lady Red said that she can’t make it for three months. She said that if we had reached out to her a week ago, she would have had the time to come. But she is too busy now.”

This news surely put him in a bad mood. He cursed his bad luck for a while. Then he committed suicide to start over again.

He decided to reverse time and start again because his choice was not between wasting one month of his lifespan or wasting three months. He decided that the former was better, so he decided to give up on this timeline.
