THE GOD EATER

As he chased them, he thought to himself in confusion, ’I wonder what is going on with them. Surely, they don’t think that this will make me lose them, right?`

The swerving has only made it so that they don’t reach the end of the world early. As for the distance between them and him, it is still closing up as normal. Their swerving hasn’t delayed him at all.

He couldn’t figure out what they were doing, so he could only shake his head and continue his pursuit. Since he was about to catch up to them, he felt that he would discover what they were up to soon.

At this point, after more than an hour of pursuing, the Shifting Armor has healed to 70% of its maximum durability. So he could now wear it as his second skin and use it to amplify his power again.

He immediately activated the Shifting Armor and transformed it into an exoskeleton armor. Because his size had become bigger thanks to the physical changes brought about by the Vengeful Bones Metac, the exoskeleton armor was now big enough to be mistaken for a mech suit.

By activating and putting his Life Ability to work, he has delayed its speed of regeneration. This has also eased the energy consumption of his Life Ability by a lot. But the Vengeful Bones Metac is still consuming a lot of energy to empower him for so long.

The consumption of the Vengeful Bones Metac made him smile and say, ’Just a little bit more. A little bit more, and blood will flow.’

He was comforting the Vengeful Bones Metac and encouraging himself to be patient. Apparently, it wasn’t only the Vengeful Bones Metac that wanted something or someone to deliver its wrathful vengeance on. He also wanted to sink his claws into someone.

Fortunately, an opportunity for him to exert his power came a few minutes later. In fact, when this opportunity came, he felt a little surprised. This was because it was more than he expected.

For some reason, the deceiver had stopped running. So the golden pillar of light that represented the position of the symbol of authority had become stagnant. This made it easy for him to catch up to them.

But when he arrived at the position of the symbol of authority, he didn’t see the seer and the deceiver. He only saw the golden crown on the ground and a pillar of light rising above it into the sky.

This sight made him chuckle and say, “Is this the plan? Do you want to put me on the defensive and wear me down slowly?”

He didn’t know what they were planning and was only making a guess. But he didn’t seem to care about their plan as he continued towards the golden crown.

If there was a trap, he didn’t seem to care about it. He simply grabbed the golden crown and held it in his hands.

Immediately after he grabbed the golden crown, a timer appeared above it. This showed how much time he had left to keep possession of the symbol of authority before his sect could be considered the rightful winner of this Heavenly Battlefield.

He was looking at this timer when two figures suddenly appeared some distance away from him. Both of them looked at him with eyes filled with the intent to skin him alive and leave his entrails out for vultures to eat. They were more than a kilometer away from him, but their malice was still obvious at this distance.

There was one on his left and another on his right. The one on his left was a blue-feathered bird person, while the one on the right was a purple-feathered bird person.

These two were the world guardians of water and the world guardian of lightning. The two of them didn’t speak to him when they appeared. They only glared at him before nodding at each other and making their moves.

The world guardian of water was the first to make a move. She raised her hands into the sky, and the ground erupted with geysers of water.

It was as if there was a dam underground, and she had made that dam explode. Because of her power, water came pouring out of the ground in a massive quantity for an area that was around 2 kilometers wide, with him at the center.

So with him at the center, a circular area with a radius of 1 kilometer around him was filling up with water. The weird part was that the water didn’t flow into the surrounding area after appearing. The water stayed within the confines of this circular area and didn’t leak out.

With the water unable to spread, it could only rise higher and higher. This formed a cylinder of water on dry land that was rising to the sky. And with the water rising quickly, it was about to submerge him.

In order to escape the fate of being submerged, he rose higher into the sky. But the guardian of water and the guardian of lightning didn’t want him to have his way.

The guardian of water was down below within the cylinder of water. All of the bullets that he shot at her couldn’t reach her because the large amount of moving water between them was protecting her by dragging his bullets away.

Since she was safe at the bottom of the pillar of water, she continued to raise her hands up. This time, her power caused the edges of the cylinder to rise up like walls into the sky.

The walls of water quickly rose into the sky to cut off his path of escape. They converge above his head to seal the sky and drag him down to be submerged.

Meanwhile, the guardian of lightning had caused black storm clouds to appear in the sky. Then he made the storm clouds discharge a massive amount of purple lightning at him.
