THE GOD EATER

But when the world guardian heard that he could get a chance to become a world king by reincarnating into the human world, his despondent eyes began to shine. This is because there is only one thing that he loves.

So his voice became hopeful as he said, “Really? Can I become a world king? How?”

The seer said, “I already told you that we have more than one world king in my world. So the limit that there can only be one world king in a world doesn’t work in my world.”

“Take me for instance, I am also trying to become a world king. If I succeed in convincing you to help me, I will gain a lot of benefits that will improve my chances of becoming a world king.”

What he didn’t say was that even though more than one person can become a divine being in the Blessed Heaven World, the chances of doing so are less than one in one billion.

As if that isn’t bad enough, it is also a fact that the chances of becoming a divine being only seem to reduce because the previous divine beings hoard their divine position and don’t let even death take it from them.

But even if he had said this, this world guardian would still be interested because anything is better than zero. As someone who can’t reincarnate and has a normal lifespan, which he is about to reach the end of, the allure of becoming a world king is unparalleled to him.

But its interest isn’t only because of the allure of a longer lifespan. The most important reason he is interested in becoming a world king is that the only thing he ever loved and cared about was getting stronger.

He dedicated most of his life to his calling and would have continued to do so if someone hadn’t become a world king and blocked the way for him. If there was still a way for him to advance, he wouldn’t have taken a wife and settled down.

So now that a way has been presented to him, he feels his long-lost love rekindled within. However, he was still hesitant to betray his world.

This made him say, “As tempting as the possibility of becoming a world king is, I can’t turn my calling against my people. I love power, but I can’t just turn my back on my world like that. So I don’t think I can help you.”

But now that the seer had hooked him, he was unwilling to let him go. So the seer said, “You don’t need to take any action against anyone. I am not so callous as to ask you to kill your people.”

“All I want is for you to tell me where the symbol of authority is. Or tell me who is in charge of the safekeeping of the symbol of authority.”

The world guardian relaxed when he heard this request. Then he said, “You promise to protect my world and my people?”

He replied without hesitation, “I swear it on my Dao Heart.”

This was a serious oath. The consequences of breaking that oath were so heavy that the bird person could sense it.

So the bird person sighed in relief before saying, “The symbol of authority should be at the top of Mount Iris. It should be protected by the three world guardians of Darkness, Earth, and Fire.”

As soon as he heard this information, it was as if a shackle was broken. Or to be more accurate, it was as if a film covering his third eye had been removed.

Something was blocking his vision before. But now that the obstacle to his vision was removed, the things that he couldn’t see before became clear to him.

So even though he was underground, he was able to see far into the distance where a very tall mountain was standing. The mountain wasn’t the tallest mountain in the small world, but it was the most dangerous. This was because it erupted the most.

Right now, the mountain is dormant. There are also three bird people who have tunneled from the top of the volcanic mountain down to its bottom.

There is lava all around these three bird people. But somehow, they have been able to keep the immense heat from affecting them.

There is also a black sphere around the three of them and the blurry item that they are guarding. This black sphere is what has been blocking his vision and preventing him from knowing where the symbol of authority was.

But now that one of the world guardians has betrayed the world, and he has received critical information about the symbol of authority and where it is hiding, the best that the black sphere can do to block his vision is prevent him from being able to see what the symbol of authority looks like.

This made him chuckle and say, “Of course, it has to be someone wielding the power of darkness. They have it too easy hiding things from seers.”

“But the tables have turned now. I can only say that she tried her best. It is just a pity that she is playing in the big leagues now and her petty tricks are no longer good enough.”

He was talking about the world guardian of darkness. This world guardian seemed to have noticed his prying gaze. So she was looking around warily for him while intensifying her ability to hide their position from him.

He could wrestle with her, but he didn’t need to do so. So he let the black sphere covering them expand and cover his vision.

He was unconcerned as this happened. He even had the leisure to say, “Whatever makes you feel good. I just hope you wouldn’t be too tired when we meet on the battlefield.”

He felt proud of himself because he had found the symbol of authority without fighting anyone. He just had to say a few words, and he got what he was looking for.
