THE GOD EATER

She made a good point, so he could only grit his teeth and say, “Fine. Just find him and keep him safe.”

Then he threatened the other person by saying, “If he dies, I won’t be happy, and you won’t like that I am not happy. So you better find him and protect him, or I will…”

But the other side wasn’t cowed. They interrupted him by saying, “Or what?”

Before he could reply, they said, “What do you plan to do to me, Kelvin? Do you intend to send your entire family after me? Please do so.”

“As many of them as come, that’s how many I will kill. Unless your divine being comes after me himself, there is nothing you and any mortal can do to me.”

Kelvin wasn’t happy to hear this. But it was also the truth, so he couldn’t deny her claims.

In fact, he couldn’t even ascertain that he could keep his life in a fight with her. But he had another angle to play from.

So he said to her, “I will have to pay a large price, but I can make it so that your credit becomes worse. Or I can find a way to freeze your account.”

The person who had been boisterous and vocal just earlier became silent when he made this threat. They didn’t seem to have anything to say about this threat, unlike how they were so fearless a few seconds ago.

He took this silence as a sign, so he smiled and said, “What do you have to say now?”

The other person sighed and said, “I will find and protect him at all costs.”

These words made the smile on his face become wider. His teeth were showing beneath his helmet as he said, “Good. I hope you do that. I don’t want to have to actually go through my threat.”

In response, the other person snorted as they said, “Right. That would be a shame.”

He sensed the sarcasm in their words, but he didn’t take it to heart. He even nodded in agreement and said, “It would really be a shame. If you don’t believe, ask yourself why I didn’t threaten you with this in the first place and instead paid you to do a good job in the first place.”

She replied, saying, “Because it will be more expensive?”

He nodded and said, “Exactly. It will be too expensive.”

“I already know that the weakness of you money cultivators is money, and the weakness of money cultivators with the Life’s Worth Life Ability like yours is their credit with the sect. I didn’t need to threaten you to suddenly remember this information.”

“So I knew this information, but I didn’t use it to force you to help me. What I did was to pay you. It can only be because it is better to pay you in some way than to threaten you. In this case, it is better to pay you because it is cheaper to do so than to pay to freeze your credit and give you bad credit.”

She scoffed and said, “There is also the fact that you can only carry out your threat through the privilege of an elder, but you don’t want the divine being of your family to know that you are trying to create a Divine Metac.”

This made him chuckle and say, “There’s that too. So it is a lose-lose situation for us if you don’t find and protect him for me. It is why I truly hope that you won’t force my hand.”

The other side said, “Whatever. I have to go do my job. I’ll tell you when I have him, so you don’t have to keep bothering me with your messages.”

He decided not to bother her anymore, so he cut off the conversation at this point.

After he stopped sending messages to her, he turned his attention to the small world again. He continued to stare at it with intensity and hope.

He is waiting for good news from the money cultivator that he paid to help him capture and protect the rank 4 forger with the mutated Armored Shell.

He had wanted to pay the rank 5 forger who informed him of the existence of the mutated Armored Shell to capture and protect the rank 4 forger. But she had asked for too much.

If the price hadn’t been so high, things would have been better. The rank 5 forger would have surely captured the rank 4 forger by now, and he wouldn’t need to be so anxious.

The thought of how the rank 5 forger was causing stress for him made him narrow his eyes and say to himself, ’She will pay for this, and she will pay for it with her life.’

’If she thinks she can rip me off, then she has another thing coming. I will teach her a lesson not to mess with me. Let me see how cocky she can be when I smash her head open.’

Other people might be afraid of her hammer, but he isn’t. This is because he has the Armored Shell, which is the most powerful defensive Life Ability for forgers.

In fact, instead of feeling fear, he is full of anticipation for when he will fight her. Just the thought of how he would pummel her face brought a smile to his face.

As he smiled, he said to himself, ’Let’s see how she looks down on me when her eyes have been poked out.’

’I might let her live if the rank 4 forger survives. But if he dies, then she will have to follow along to the underworld.’

He truly means what he said. As someone who was raised privileged and has always gotten everything he wanted when he wanted it, if he says he wants to kill someone, that person must die.

He is a problematic person to deal with. Even the money cultivator who took his money to help him is regretting it now.
