THE GOD EATER

She was waiting for the golden crown to light up to reveal its position so that everyone would know where it was and come to her to get it.

This is the normal protocol when a member of the Five Sects gets hold of the symbol of authority. Everyone else will try to take it from them by force. But if that person and their sect can keep the symbol of authority within the possession of only their sect for a day, they will win the Heavenly Battlefield.

So she will soon become the center of attention in the small world. Every rank 5 cultivator from the other sects and the world guardians will try to kill her for the golden crown. But she was sure that she would be able to keep hold of the golden crown, so she only felt smug right now, not afraid.

However, no matter how long she waited, the golden pillar of light that was supposed to appear above the golden crown never appeared above the golden crown in her hand.

But a golden pillar of light did appear. It just didn’t appear in the golden crown in her hand.

The golden pillar of light appeared some distance away above a shadowy figure. The golden pillar was moving rapidly because the shadowy figure was moving rapidly. And there was a golden crown that couldn’t be hidden in the grasp of the shadowy figure.

When she saw this, she looked at her hand, wondering what she was holding. As she turned to look at his hand, she said, “If that is the symbol of authority, what am I holding?”

The answer came when she looked at her hand and saw that she was holding a stick.

The stick wasn’t a special stick. It was the most ordinary stick ever. It looked like something that she could have found on the side of the road without fighting a group of unknown enemies for.

This made her say, “How?”

She wanted to know how she had been deceived by a stick. The answer to this question also came quickly when the mirage around her faded away. The shimmering starlight that made everything she was seeing blurry had also disappeared.

With these things gone, she found that she was at the edge of the pit, grinning with a stick in her hand. The first sign that something was very wrong was that she was at the edge of the pit, not at its center, where the golden crown should have been.

So for some reason, she had come to the edge of the pit thinking that she was reaching for the golden crown when, in fact, all that she was grabbing was an ordinary stick.

There was a shadowy figure standing in front of her, struggling to hold back its laughter. When the shadowy figure saw her look and glare at him, he burst out laughing.

As he laughed, he said, “How do you like my stick? Please take care of it for me.”

Her response was to roar in anger and control the hammer to fly over and crush the shadowy figure.

But the shadowy figure didn’t resist. It allowed the hammer to crush it while it was rolling on the ground, laughing its face off.

After the shadowy figure was crushed by the hammer, its figure dispersed as black smoke. This proved that it was a clone.

This outcome didn’t surprise her. But she was still angry.

In fact, the confirmation that she had been deceived by a stick only made her angrier. She wanted to rush over to crush the seer and the deceiver immediately.

She grabbed their hammer and began to ascend into the sky to pursue. But then she saw a rank 4 in a mech suit flash by her and rush into the distance.

The sight of this particular rank 4 cooled her anger immediately. It also dampened her mood because she realized that she might not be able to exert vengeance.

She still continued to pursue the golden pillar of light, but she wasn’t as enthusiastic about it as she was. This left the rank 5 money cultivator and her entourage wondering what to do.

She stood there in the air some distance away, questioning what she had just seen. There was a blank look in her eyes, and her mouth was slightly agape. She just stood there, frozen in thought.

She wasn’t frozen because she had been deceived. This wasn’t a situation caused by seeing the wrong things and taking them as reality.

Her eyes were not deceived, and she had seen reality undistorted, not an illusion. But what she had seen had left her with a lot of things to think about.

She had seen the rank 4 forger that she was looking for. This was good news that was only made better by the fact that she didn’t expect to meet him here.

After all, who would expect to find a rank 4 cultivator among a group of rank 5 beings fighting each other? Just a splash of the impact of their clashes would be enough to kill that rank 4 cultivator many times over.

There was no way a rank 4 cultivator would have been able to survive the multiple eruptions of Mount Iris. This is not far-fetched since Mount Iris itself didn’t survive the multiple eruptions.

The poor mountain has been leveled and disfigured to look like a broken hill. So this was no place for a rank 4 cultivator at all. This was why she rushed over to protect the rank 4 cultivator as soon as she saw him.

She wanted to protect him to secure the job that Kelvin gave her, and she became extra anxious to protect him when she saw him behind two world guardians.

The two world guardians were capable of killing any rank 4 cultivator many times over. So she tried to draw their attention so that they would pay attention to her, not the rank 4 forger behind them.
