THE GOD EATER

With a single thought, he can become a divine being here and now. But he can’t do that because there is someone high up there constantly searching the entire universe, not just the Blessed Heaven World, for him.

If the Luck Pathway so much as shows a trend of resurgence, he will be discovered. So if he is to become a divine being, he has to use another pathway.

While he is trying to accomplish this, he can feel that faint sense of doom clinging to him like oil on paper. This made him feel gloomy and unable to enjoy the fact that he managed to return despite the efforts of a lot of people to prevent him from returning.

His faint sense of doom spiked a month later. He still couldn’t do anything about the source of this doom, but he could do something to increase his luck.

At this point, he has a multicolored mark on his head. This indicates that he has advanced to rank 5. This was something that was easy for him to accomplish.

His current power and means have also made it possible for him to acquire resources to increase his luck without using the Metacs of the Luck Pathway. What he got for this is an expensive talisman of the Talisman Pathway.

He pinched the golden talisman in his hand and watched it shatter into dust. The dust that the talisman shattered was golden and sparkling. This dust flew around him several times, rising each time until it reached the cloud on top of his head.

As he increased his bright and golden luck, the golden cloud on top of his head became bigger. This forced the speck of darkness to become smaller compared to the size of the golden cloud.

The increasing difference in the size of his good luck and the size of his bad luck also made it so that there was a trend of his good luck subsuming the bad luck.

This made him smile and say, “I didn’t do anything to the source of the bad luck. If my good luck becomes too big for it, then it won’t be my fault if they experience a backlash of bad luck.”

In the heavenly city, Loki was in a room cultivating. He was sitting on a cushion and controlling Branch Metacs to interact with him in various ways.

It has been one month since his encounter with Slav the Golden. That’s the name he came up with for the person who nearly killed him permanently a week ago.

He exhaled and said to himself, ’Finally, I’ve reached 400% energy manipulation skill. It is time for the next step.’

He could feel that he had just crossed a bottleneck within him. Usually, that bottleneck should have been his limit. But since his energy well has doubled, the bottleneck can no longer block him from progressing.

So instead of being confined to an energy manipulation skill level of 400% as a rank 4 cultivator, he can feel that he can still continue to improve without advancing to rank 5.

It is just a feeling, though. So he decided to confirm it with the Power Identification Ability.

Age: 35 Years 1 Month 1 Week/77 Years 9 Months.

Dao Status: 5

Energy Quantity: 5,898,240 × 5 = 29,491,200

Energy Threads: 180 + 180 + 180 + 180 + 180 = 900

Body: 0.6. >> 5

Soul: 3 >> 4

Mind: 3 >> 5

Will: 5(97%) >> 6(1%)

Skill: 375% >> 401%.

CORE METAC:

1. Fenrir (Divine): Power Identification. Tracking. Seal. Devouring. Siphon. Shifting Armor (Life Ability).

2. Rewind. Splitting Edge. Mind Freeze. Telekinesis. Vengeful Bones.

This made him smile and say, “It is just like I thought. Rank can’t limit my energy manipulation skill anymore.”

“And look at that Willpower. It has developed nicely. I guess Slav really is my lucky star.”

His Dao Heart had broken the threshold of rank 5 a short while after his encounter with Slav, so he has Slav to thank for this progress. But he doesn’t plan to meet with Slav to thank him anytime soon.

And even though that encounter was responsible for his sudden rise in the refinement of his Dao Heart, that kind of encounter isn’t something he is willing to have with Slav or anyone ever again. He must prefer the slow refining of time.

As he thought of this, he said, “Slow and steady wins the race. There is no need to gamble when the reward for winning the gamble is something I can earn in time, and especially when the consequence for losing the gamble isn’t something I can afford to pay.”

Then he scratched his chin and said, “As for the benefits of this level of Willpower, I can’t tell. I don’t feel any different. Maybe it is because I don’t have the tools to make full use of it.”

After saying that, his eyes lit up and he said, “Speaking of tools, it is time I got better ones. It seems it is time to meet Lady Red.”

Immediately after he said this, he stood up from the cushion and left the room. Then he left the heavenly city completely and came down to earth for his meeting. He didn’t waste time taking action because he had been waiting for this moment for a long time.

Most of his time in the heavenly city has been spent refining his body. This task of refining his body was what had delayed him from achieving 400% energy manipulation skill level and meeting Lady Red for so long.

Now that his body, mind, and soul have reached their limit and he has equipped rank 5 Metacs, not the rank 3 ones that he was using a month ago, he feels ready to meet with Lady Red.

Amelia had already given him her contact information, so he could easily reach her. In order to use her contact information to reach her, though, he had to buy a communication talisman.
