The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 450: Chapter 262: Return to the Crime Scene 2

He spoke calmly, ”The three hundred dollars in the drawer have disappeared without a trace.”

Jiang An immediately added, ”Regarding the cash on Yang Xiu’s person, the killer might not have known, but he was certainly aware of the cash stored in the drawer.”

”Has anyone noticed that the key is still inserted in the lock?”

”This undoubtedly hints that the suspect most likely used this key to unlock it...”

Li Jian, deep in thought, nodded frequently, ”Indeed, there are traces of blood on this key.”

”According to forensic identification, the blood is suspected to come from Victim Number One, Yang Xiu.”

Jiang An nodded again, a gleam in his eye.

”Thus, everything falls into place logically.”

”I speculate the crime occurred as follows: The killer broke into the room, rushed straight to the second floor, brutally murdered the woman before returning to the first floor.”

”Wielding a sharp blade, he killed Yang Xiu and then used the key taken from Yang Xiu to open the drawer.”

”I have reason to suspect that this crucial key was obtained from Yang Xiu.”

Li Jian was deeply absorbed, nodding constantly, ”Exactly, among this bunch of keys, several can open Yang Xiu’s personal travel bag smoothly.”

”Thus, the keys undoubtedly came from Yang Xiu.”

”Moreover, during our thorough investigation, we found no evidence that Victim Number Two possessed any key to open this drawer, which further suggests that Yang Xiu was in charge of the money and she was responsible for managing the household finances.”

Hearing this, Jiang An felt increasingly certain of his judgment.

In his view, every crime scene, no matter how complex it seemed on the surface, actually contained hidden truths that could be traced.

The current scene proved to be no exception.

Although there were two deaths, and the distribution of trace evidence seemed chaotic, it was intriguingly neat.

The methods of crime varied, yet all this indirectly confirmed the intricate and unspeakable special relationship between the suspect and the victims.

Jiang An adjusted his attire slightly and concluded, ”Now, I’d like to add some crucial details about Victim Number One, Yang Xiu.”

”The reason she is not considered the primary target of the killer is two-fold.”

”First, there are no obvious resistance marks on Yang Xiu’s body surface, which corresponds with the killer’s unexpected and unguarded attack strategy.”

”Second, from the blood distribution on her palms, it can be inferred that at the moment of neck incision, she instinctively raised her right palm to cover the wound to stop the bleeding.”

”Unfortunately, she eventually could not escape doom, excessive blood loss weakened her, causing her to collapse.”

”Please have a close look; both her palms and sleeves were soaked in blood, shocking, these details are silent testimonies.”

”Indeed.”

Mr. Zhang interjected, his eyes filled with appreciation.

”The forensic analysis at the time was also like this. After Yang Xiu was injured in the neck, instinct drove her to self-rescue, but ultimately she couldn’t overcome her fate, falling to the cold ground.”

”However, the detail you mentioned about her sitting in the chair was rather novel and unique, providing us with a new perspective for reconstructing the scene.”

Jiang An humbly bowed, ”These are just some of my views. If there are shortcomings, I ask the leaders to kindly critique and correct.”

At this moment, the faces of the three supervisors were filled with smiles, and they looked at Jiang An with eyes full of affection and admiration.

Mr. Bai generously praised, ”This young man is truly remarkable!”

”In the thorny field of homicide investigation, to have such profound accomplishments at such a young age is truly admirable.”

”His three points of analysis just now, from the precise positioning of spatial location to the meticulous unraveling of physical traces, and then the profound insight into the nature of the case, the reasoning process was seamless and tight, akin to a spectacular criminal investigation feast that opened eyes.”

He turned to Mr. Zhang across from him, his eyes full of envy.

”Mr. Chen, Mr. Ma, the fact that your Jiangcheng can produce such outstanding talent is truly a blessing, both joyful and gratifying.”

”Frankly speaking, just now during Jiang’s analysis, I was completely immersed and hugely benefited.”

”We all know that each case has its distinctiveness; hardly any can be fully replicated.”

”He hasn’t had the chance to carefully pore over the piled-up thick case files, but he managed to have such profound and comprehensive insight into the entire case within such a short time, already transcending conventional expectations, a true prodigy among men.”

”The future pillar of the criminal investigation field must be none other than him!”

Hearing Mr. Bai’s praise, Mr. Zhang gently stroked the rim of his purple clay cup, his eyes full of comfort.

Then, Mr. Zhang spoke sincerely, ”Jiang, I must remind you, next time there’s such a good opportunity, don’t hold back.”

”In front of the leaders, you must report your thoughts fully and meticulously without reservation.”

”Mr. Bai and the other directors have come a long way tirelessly, so make sure to seize this fleeting chance and let them give guidance as much as possible, which is a rare growth opportunity.”

Jiang An immediately stood up straight, his voice loud, ”Yes, Mr. Zhang, I will certainly remember this instruction.”

Mr. Bai saw this and waved his hand with a friendly tone.

”Enough, Jiang’s performance just now was astonishing, and we three were truly impressed and greatly benefited.”

”This case is thorny and complex, and we’ve been dealing with it for just a few tens of minutes now.”

”To have such profound and unique insights into the case within this short hour, such talent and effort.”

”Not only for someone as young as him, but even for us veterans who have been rolling in the criminal investigation frontline for decades, to have so many reflections and gains within such a rushed timeline is exceptionally rare.”

”Jiang, you’ve already stood out, the future is promising, and in the criminal investigation realm, you’re definitely the upcoming shining star!”

Mr. Bai slightly turned his head, his gaze sweeping over the PPT again.

He seemed thoughtful, ”This case analysis has now finally cleared the fog and begun to take shape.”

”I completely agree with the key points Jiang An raised earlier.”

”The suspicion of revenge murder in this case is relatively high, while the motivation for monetary gain is not conspicuous.”

”So, indeed as Jiang An said, obtaining money might be just incidental, with the core purpose likely aiming at achieving revenge by killing.”

”Certainly, the primary target should be Victim Number Two.”

”As for Victim Number One, she was at most collateral damage or a spur-of-the-moment sacrifice by the killer, along with incidental plundering.”

”Going forward, I believe our urgent task is to restart an in-depth investigation into Victim Number Two’s interpersonal relationships.”

”Focus mainly on whether there were emotional entanglements back then, especially the hidden clues of boyfriend-girlfriend level.”

”Additionally, I suggest we immediately set off and revisit the original crime scene.”

”Though time passes, the scene is the source of all truths.”

”As long as the original scene remains, I firmly believe, with our professional expertise and persistence, repeated meticulous re-investigation will definitely uncover stronger evidence, bring the truth to light for all.”

Mr. Zhang and Mr. Ma exchanged determined glances, appearing resolute, ”The scene has been preserved properly.”

”This case has remained unsolved for years, and as per regulations, we have yet to unseal the scene.”

”Besides, two people died at the scene, and the owner is apprehensive, feeling it’s ominous, so although he wishes to rent it out, no one is interested.”

”To keep the scene intact, our bureau allocates funds yearly to pay a nominal rent, serving as both explanation to the property owner.”

Mr. Bai and the other directors nodded in appreciation upon hearing this.

”This work has been solidly done, and the importance of preserving the original scene is significant.”

”It carries countless concealed clues, and as long as the scene persists, we are confident that with repeated efforts, the truth will eventually be unearthed for the world.”

Mr. Zhang decisively, ”Then let’s immediately arrange for transport, and together head to the original crime scene.”
