The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 408: Chapter 243: Was It Suicide?

Soon, three lists were handed to Li Jian, Jiang An, and Zhang Yean.

Li Jian cleared his throat and said seriously, ”We can’t be careless with the investigation of these over three hundred rental properties.”

”Now, the three of us will divide the work, each responsible for checking a hundred households.”

”This way, by continuously delving into the front, middle, and rear areas of the community, we’ll strive to quickly discover which landlord rented their room to that man named He.”

Jiang An and Zhang Yean exchanged a glance and nodded slightly.

Jiang An said steadily, ”Alright, let’s do it.”

Zhang Yean agreed, ”Sure, let’s follow Mr. Li’s plan.”

Immediately, the three of them sprang into action.

At this moment, time was of the essence. With approval from their superiors, they used personal devices, swiftly taking out their phones, quickly unlocking the screens, and seamlessly switching their fingers across the dial pads to call numbers.

After all, during this critical phase of solving the case.

The risk of personal phone information leakage had long been tossed aside.

As long as they could identify the murderer first, any cost was worth it.

Moreover, being criminal investigators, they had a certain confidence within them—what harm if others knew their identities or phone numbers?

Would any audacious scammer dare to provoke the police, especially the criminal investigators?

They ought to know that telecom fraud investigations were under the criminal investigators’ control.

This equates to digging oneself a grave.

Meanwhile, Mr. Qin, standing tall and leading a group, entered the intelligence analysis section of Jiangcheng City’s command center swiftly.

Once inside, he walked straight towards Mr. Li, who was busy at the computer.

”Mr. Li, sorry to disturb you!”

”Please help us sort out all the deceased body information from across the city in the past two weeks.”

Mr. Li’s hands flew across the keyboard, not looking up, responding, ”Mr. Qin, why look for information on the deceased all of a sudden today?”

”I remember you weren’t dealing with a homicide case?”

Mr. Qin straightened up, lightly patted Mr. Li’s shoulder, his face bearing a slight wry smile, saying, ”Oh dear, old friend, you’re joking again.”

”A suspect has suddenly gone missing, and we suspect he might have met with foul play.”

”But for now, it’s just a suspicion.”

”That’s why we’re specially here seeking your help, haha.”

”I knew it!”

”You busy folks rarely come without a reason.”

”Though we are close, you don’t find leisure time to visit for tea chat.”

”Since we parted at last year’s reunion, we’ve hardly met.”

Mr. Li paused his actions, looked up at Mr. Qin, eyes hinting a touch of sentiment.

While speaking, Mr. Li maneuvered his mouse, swiftly browsing and filtering data, with information scrolling on the screen continually.

”Ah yes, after graduation, we went our separate ways, busy with our own matters, seldom meeting.”

”We’ve remained close by, yet still rare to gather.”

”Nonetheless, each serving the public in their respective posts fulfills its purpose.”

Mr. Qin shook his head slightly, his tone carrying a bit of helplessness.

At this moment, the printer hummed loudly, like an awakened beast, followed by the sound of paper emerging.

Mr. Li rose quickly, picked up the sheets, verified them carefully, then handed them to Mr. Qin.

He solemnly said, ”Dear old friend, this is the status of all bodies in Jiangcheng over the past two weeks.”

”Twelve identities remain unclear.”

”Of course, this was the situation recorded at the initial case report.”

”Further investigation should clarify the identities of some bodies.”

Mr. Qin received the list with both hands, nodding slightly, eyes full of gratitude.

He said, ”Thank you, old friend, with your strong support, our case processing efficiency will surely enhance.”

”Oh, don’t be so formal, we’re all part of Jiangcheng’s police, contributing to the force is our duty.”

Mr. Li waved his hand with a face alight with smiles.

Then Mr. Qin carefully folded the list, placing it in his pocket.

Walking briskly towards the elevator, he once again pulled out the list, his gaze fixed on the paper.

Upon reflection, Mr. Qin slightly furrowed his brow, discretely planning the next steps to precisely verify the information.

He understood that a timespan of two weeks wasn’t short. Considering the current unpredictable weather, if the deceased had died long ago, their bodies might have already been thoroughly decomposed.

Thinking of this, his eyes scanned the list again, noticing that five bodies were already unrecognizable by the time of reporting.

In such a situation, identifying merely by appearance was clearly unfeasible; only advanced scientific techniques held hope of revealing the truth.

Mr. Qin shook his head helplessly.

”First, check recent death cases and see if we can find clues through facial comparison.”

”If not, then request the tech department to conduct DNA comparisons on those decomposed bodies.”

The two police officers accompanying him stood aside, hearing the captain’s words.

They instantly straightened up, speaking in unison, ”Mr. Qin, rest assured, appoint us as you see fit.”

”We’ll follow orders without fail.”

Meanwhile, at the Nanjiang Garden property center.

Jiang An, Zhang Yean, and Li Jian formed a triangle formation, operating their phones individually, seated around a slightly worn-out table. The glow from the three phone screens illuminated their faces. They leaned forward, focused, like soldiers heading into a battle. At this moment, they were engrossed in making phone calls, their manner resembled that of telemarketers.
