Chapter 403: Chapter 240: Jiang An Is the Blade of the Criminal Police (Part 2)

Jiang An had just breathed a sigh of relief, and his eyes sharpened again.

He turned his head to look at the edge of the left side of the trunk, ”Senior sister, there might be another mark here, could you please take a photo?”

”Another one?”

The crowd was once again surprised upon hearing this.

Jiang An extended a finger, pointing to the target location.

”Look here, do you see some scuff marks?”

Following the direction of his finger, Zhang Yean quickly crouched down, observing meticulously with eyes like a scanner.

As a trace expert, she blurted out after just a glance.

”Oh, this is a sock print, comb-shaped, with a mesh structure in parts.”

Jiang An nodded, ”I guess after the deceased was placed in the trunk, their feet contacted that spot, leaving a sole sock print.”

Now, Captain Qin and the deputy captain were dumbfounded as they listened. They had long known Jiang An’s prowess.

But this time, without any leads, Jiang An unexpectedly discovered two crucial pieces of trace evidence.

Moreover, he accurately reconstructed the scene of the deceased entering the trunk.

The two exchanged a glance and spoke in unison, ”Impressive, impressive!”

”Jiang An, your skills are truly astounding.”

”It feels like with you on the case, the truth will soon come to light.”

Their teammates around them also nodded, their eyes full of admiration.

Someone whispered, ”As soon as Jiang An arrives, there’s a breakthrough in the case, he’s our ’stabilizing force.’

Li Jian looked at Jiang An, his gaze filled with appreciation.

While everyone was immersed in the excitement of discovering clues, Mr. Ma, Mr. Yang, and Mr. Bai quietly arrived.

Originally, Mr. Ma wanted to greet everyone in advance and have a lively welcome ceremony.

However, both Mr. Yang and Mr. Bai stopped him.

The two whispered that they wanted to be observers, to see if the frontline detectives were professional, dedicated, or perfunctory when investigating a murder scene.

Jiang An and the others’ analysis and scene reconstruction earlier gave the two directors a true appreciation of the flair of the grassroots level detectives.

The three of them quietly stood behind everyone, watching.

Mr. Yang and Mr. Bai exchanged a glance, a slight smile appearing on their lips.

Their gaze fell on Jiang An’s upright figure, full of admiration in their eyes.

At this moment, Mr. Ma looked at the two directors and whispered, ”Look.”

The two directors knowingly nodded.

Mr. Ma raised his voice and shouted, ”Brothers, warmly welcome the two directors here to guide our work!”

With this shout, Captain Li Jian, Captain Qin, and Captain Fu finally snapped out of it and hurriedly turned around.

The others also turned their heads one after another.

It was only then they discovered that three leaders were standing behind them.

And all were dressed in neat white shirts.

No need to mention Mr. Ma; Mr. Yang and Mr. Bai also exuded an imposing presence.

Captain Li Jian, Captain Qin, and Captain Fu stepped forward briskly, standing at attention and saluting.

They said in unison, ”Hello, leaders!”

Mr. Yang and Mr. Bai smiled and nodded in response.

Seeing this, the other officers also stood at attention and loudly greeted, ”Hello, leaders!”

Mr. Bai’s gaze swept over everyone, finally landing on Jiang An.

With a probing look in his eyes, he said, ”Impressive,”

”By the way, are you Jiang An?”

Right now, Jiang An was still wearing gloves, holding a flashlight in his right hand. Upon hearing the inquiry, he immediately stood at attention.

He loudly replied, ”Reporting to the leaders, I am the new officer Jiang An!”

”Well done!”

Mr. Bai praised, ”I’ve heard of your outstanding skills in criminal investigation before.”

”Your professional analysis just now shocked both me and Mr. Yang.”

As he spoke, he looked at Mr. Yang, their eyes meeting, both nodding.

Mr. Bai continued, ”Just looking at your observation of the trunk’s trace evidence.”

”Hair, footprints, and the entire scene reconstruction, that’s not something attainable without over ten years of experience.”

”Even experienced officers may not reach such thoroughness.”

”Young man, we have high hopes for you!”

”With your potential, you’re bound to become a pillar of the police force in the future, with Jiangcheng’s public security owing a great deal to you.”

Mr. Yang also chimed in, his gaze sweeping around.

He said solemnly, ”Indeed, I noticed just now the focus with which your entire team works, undisturbed by external factors.”

”This spirit of scene investigation is worth learning by the entire police team.”

”Mr. Bai and I have visited many places, observing various murder scenes.”

”But we’ve never seen such unity, focus, and professionalism like the Jiangcheng Criminal Police Team here.”

”You really made us look at you in a new light today.”

”Jiang An, you are the outstanding one among them.”

”Your professional competence and keen insight are simply the benchmark in our field of criminal investigation, setting an excellent example for young officers.”

Mr. Ma and Captain Li Jian listened with great delight.

Jiang An stepped forward, standing at attention and saluting.

He said with determination, ”Mr. Bai, Mr. Yang, we will always remember the responsibilities of Chinese criminal police.”

”On the path of fighting crime, we’ll outsmart criminals and strive our hardest to combat more crimes!”

”Well done!” Mr. Bai praised again, ”The Jiangcheng Criminal Police has a promising future.”

”With a rising star like you, the future of Jiangcheng Criminal Police looks bright, and I believe it won’t be long before you shine brightly in the police world.”

Then, Mr. Yang slightly furrowed his brows and said thoughtfully, ”To be honest.”

”Before coming here, we knew Jiangcheng had ten unsolved cases, and we were quite surprised at the time.”

”We thought, how could a city’s criminal police team have such a backlog of cases?”

”But just now, Mr. Ma told us that Jiang An hasn’t been involved in investigating these cases.”

”I just wonder, did we come a bit early?”

As he spoke, he looked at Mr. Bai, who smiled and nodded.

Mr. Yang continued, ”If the special campaign for solving cold cases started a bit later, we could have had Jiang An involved in these unsolved cases first.”

”I dare say, these ten murder cases would soon find a breakthrough.”

”Jiang An, you’re the ’secret weapon’ for solving cases, with you in the lead, even the toughest cases are no match.”

Mr. Ma nodded repeatedly, showing a look of regret, and said, ”Yes, leaders, it’s all my fault for not deploying the work properly.”

”Not involving these outstanding young talents in the investigation of old cases at the first opportunity.”

”It’s not all your fault.” Mr. Yang comforted.

”From what I observed earlier, I truly felt that Jiang An has unique insights into criminal investigation, scene investigation, and murder case solving.”

”That’s quite rare.”

”Among the young officers I know, Jiang An left the deepest impression and gained the most recognition from us.”

”He’s like a brilliant new star, rising steadily, destined to leave a colorful mark in the police force.”

Mr. Ma relaxed and smiled, saying, ”Well then, we’ll certainly keep the leaders’ instructions in mind,”

”Encouraging young officers to participate more in scene investigations and case-solving.”

Mr. Bai nodded in approval, then turned to Li Jian, saying, ”We’ve talked long enough, but we don’t know the origins of this case, please give a brief explanation.”

Mr. Ma gave a signal to Li Jian, who stepped forward, standing at attention and saluting.

He said in a loud voice, ”This case initially involved the discovery of a male body on Phoenix Mountain.”

”The body was incomplete, but through police dog searches, we’ve recovered 95% of the remains.”

”Additionally, we’ve found a skull fracture on the deceased, preliminarily judged to be caused by violent impact.”

”We currently suspect the deceased’s wife, Wang Shantao, is involved.”

”However, analyzing from the aspect of force used, we suspect the case might involve multiple perpetrators.”

”Now, another male suspect has emerged, but this person is currently missing.”

Hearing that the suspect was missing, Mr. Yang and Mr. Bai exchanged a worried look.

Mr. Yang said, ”The disappearance of a suspect certainly increases the difficulty of solving the case.”

”But it’s crucial to figure out if this person vanished completely or something unfortunate happened to them.”

”In the next steps, you must further enhance the investigation to determine their whereabouts.”

”Find the person alive or retrieve the body!”

Mr. Ma listened attentively and nodded vigorously.

”Captain Li Jian, remember the directors’ instructions and pursue the investigation with all your might in this direction.”

Li Jian stood at attention and saluted, firmly saying, ”Thanks to the directors for the guidance.”

”We at the Jiangcheng Criminal Police firmly believe that every case must be thoroughly investigated, leaving no doubt unresolved.”

”There’s no perfect crime; we just haven’t found the clue yet.”

”Just like this case, as long as the police team unites, we can definitely tackle this tough problem!”

”And Jiang An is our sharpest ’blade.’”

After he finished, Mr. Yang and Mr. Bai looked at everyone with determination and said, ”We await your good news.”
