The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 448: Chapter 261: Breaking Through the Clouds to See the Sun!

Jiang An gently touched the projection screen, simulating the angle of the wound.

Then, he steadily approached the image position of the victim’s head, raised his arm, and precisely pointed his index finger at the wound location.

”The neck wound is very distinctive, almost horizontal in direction, and it extends from left to right.”

”According to our professional analysis of sharp instruments, the blade should have entered from the left side and then smoothly cut to the right.”

”Finally, the wound extended to the submandibular gland, causing the right side of the neck artery to rupture, triggering the tragic death.”

”Therefore, just from examining the formation mechanism of this wound, I personally conclude that it perfectly fits the left-to-right cutting technique.”

”Moreover, this wound is not absolutely horizontal, and the subtle angle deviation within it actually holds a hidden mystery.”

The three directors below listened with rapt attention, nodding frequently.

As if immersed in an extraordinarily academic feast.

Seeing this, Jiang An seized the opportunity, raising his hand to demonstrate a standard action on his own neck.

Suddenly, he further explained: ”From my anatomical research into the neck, the neck wound starts above the thyroid cartilage, and then it ascends all the way up to the right side, extending to the submandibular gland.”

Jiang An paused briefly, his gaze sweeping across the crowd, and then he said, ”The victim Yang Xiu was as tall as 1.79 meters.”

”Such a tall physique is exceptional among females.”

”Moreover, at the time of the incident, the victim Yang Xiu was wearing high heels.”

”This way, her overall height approached over 1.80 meters.”

”Imagine, such a tall woman, if her neck were cut by someone while standing, what a tall and powerful person the killer must be? The height must be at least over 1.80 meters.”

”However, if the victim was sitting on a chair when misfortune struck, then everything would be logical and much more reasonable.”

Jiang An continued: ”Besides this key bloodstain, I have another important evidence.”

”It’s the conspicuous bloodstain distribution on the front thigh of the deceased.”

Then, Jiang An changed the slide, showing a photo of the front side of the thigh.

”There are many splattered bloodstains on the front side of the victim’s thigh.”

”But the lower legs and shoe backs are clean, without a trace of blood.”

”Why is that?”

”Actually, it is like our daily sitting posture.”

”When in a seated position, the front part of both thighs extend forward, just enough to shield the lower legs, creating a natural blank protection zone in the lower leg area.”

”This way, after being injured, the blood splattering on the front of the thighs perfectly aligns with the characteristics of blood distribution at the scene.”

Upon hearing this, everyone in the venue suddenly realized, nodding unconsciously.

Especially Mr. Zhang and Mr. Ma.

Back then, both were also very focused on the bloodstain analysis of this case.

However, at that time, the analysis mainly concentrated on the large bloodstains and splash patterns from the victim’s neck.

Thus, they firmly believed that the victim was most likely cut from the front by someone, ultimately leading to death.

Based on the victim’s outstanding height at the time, combined with the simulation deductions of physical experiments, they concluded the perpetrator’s height must be over 1.80 meters.

But now, it seems that the previous deduction was undeniably misguided, misleading the investigation direction.

Mr. Zhang showed a look of remorse, staring intently at the screen while his fingers unconsciously tapped the table, producing a dull sound.

He spoke with a hint of embarrassment: ”To be honest, back then when we were reexamining this case, we also considered many factors.”

”Among them, one of the most special considerations was that the suspect could cut such a tall victim’s neck, so the height must be significant.”

”But now, through Jiang An’s detailed examination, as long as the victim was seated, any ordinary person above the height of 1.60 meters could have been capable.”

”This way, the range of suspects instantly broadened, and all previous assumptions have to be overturned.”

Mr. Bai also felt deeply moved, nodding in agreement.

”Indeed, if the victim Yang Xiu was in a seated position at the time, then any adult male with a normal weight and standard height could have been the initiator of this tragic case.”

After a brief discussion, the atmosphere in the venue became increasingly heated, with everyone’s eyes once again converging on Jiang An.

As if he was the key figure holding the truth.

Jiang An organized his thoughts briefly and spoke again: ”At this moment, I have a bold assumption and inference in my heart.”

”Why did the woman on the first floor have no reaction when the suspect came downstairs?”

”Everyone knows that the staircase from the first floor to the second floor is made of wood.”

”When someone walks on it, it will definitely make a crisp and loud noise.”

”But why did the woman on the first floor seem oblivious, still calmly sitting on the chair?”

”Just now, I specifically paid attention to the evidence examination report inside the deceased.”

”The results show that Yang Xiu’s body did not test positive for tranquilizers, drugs, or any substances that could incapacitate a person.”

”If that’s the case, why didn’t she resist?”

”Considering my previous analysis, everyone can boldly speculate, could it be that the suspect knew Yang Xiu, or was even quite familiar with her.”

”That way, it gave the suspect the opportunity to take her by surprise and strike ruthlessly?”

As soon as this viewpoint was raised, the venue fell into deep thought.

Everyone inwardly weighed this new perspective repeatedly.

It’s important to know that at first, neither did the other special investigation teams perceive this; instead, they pursued the line of thought of a dalliance dispute, thoroughly investigating individuals with similar prostitution records, especially those over 1.8 meters tall.

As a result, of course, they found nothing.

Mr. Ma, who was the detective leader at the time, was most familiar with the ins and outs of this case.

At this moment, he couldn’t help but sigh, lamenting, ”Indeed, if we view it from this new angle, we can completely infer that a conflict or entanglement must exist between the suspect and Yang Xiu, or at least they were familiar with each other, possibly even a regular at the salon.”

At this time, Li Jian, who had been silently pondering beside him, slowly raised his head.

Back then, he was just an ordinary policeman involved in the investigation process of this case.

At this moment, he suddenly recalled past details and spoke in a strong dialect.

”Back then, it was with great effort that we screened more than twenty people, and not one had the opportunity to commit the crime.”

”Seeing it this way, if it’s a familiar guest, could they be ruled out as suspects?”

”Even if that’s the case.”

Jiang An narrowed his eyes slightly; his gaze was deep as an abyss, and after pondering for a while, he said, ”But we should also consider it from another angle, is it possible that the crime was committed by someone extremely familiar or intimate with the deceased?”

”Someone intimate?”

Just as everyone racked their brains for ideas.

Jiang An once again took control of the pace, expertly handling the photos on the projector.

In an instant, the photos of the second floor appeared vividly on the screen.

”The second victim lay naked on the bed, yet her clothes were neatly placed; what does this indicate?”

”It suggests that when she undressed, she was relaxed and natural, not under any duress.”

”Although the deceased was undressed, during the forensic examination, no semen or any stains were retrieved from her perineal area.”

”What does this signify?”

”Assuming the deceased hadn’t bathed, this fully indicates that during the time of the crime, no normal sexual activity occurred.”

”Moreover, around this female victim’s body, we found no tissues or any valuable evidence.”

”Even the trash can was empty.”

”What do this series of details reveal?”

”In my opinion, there are two possibilities: first, the transaction hadn’t started, yet the victim fell prey to a vicious attack.”

”Second, this was entirely a premeditated act of retaliatory murder.”

”If we still classify this case as a transactional murder, then I must ask, who would go upstairs for pleasure, see a woman, and kill her without a word.”

”And even before committing the murder, there were no verbal or physical conflicts?”

”At least from the scene investigation, this female victim’s body didn’t suffer any additional injuries.”

”This alone is enough to prove a crucial point: our previous investigation direction might have been wrong.”

Jiang An’s analysis was like a bombshell, causing waves in the venue.

Everyone was captivated by his tightly-knit, logically meticulous reasoning, their eyes filled with admiration and praise as they looked at him.

”Jiang An is indeed the backbone of our detective team!”

”This analysis is like clearing the mist to see the sky, giving a new direction for this unsolved case that had been stagnant for years.”

Mr. Bai couldn’t help but applaud, his eyes filled with an excited glow.

”Comrade Jiang An’s professional qualities and keen insight are beyond our reach!”
