The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 443: Chapter 259: This Case Is Extraordinary

At this moment, Zhang Yean is standing on the left side of the conference room.

She stands tall and straight, with an expression of utmost confidence in her eyes.

This case has been reported multiple times at the criminal investigation unit.

Her familiarity with the case far surpasses her familiarity with the high school review textbooks.

Zhang Yean presses the controller in her hand, and an image appears on the screen.

The faces of the participants instantly become serious, as if covered by a layer of haze.

At this moment, the only sound in the room is the buzzing of the projector equipment.

Everyone holds their breath, staring at the screen without blinking.

Then, Zhang Yean walks steadily to the side of the projector.

She stands with her feet together in a standard posture, raising her right hand swiftly and saluting crisply.

”Greetings, leaders! Let me now report the detailed situation of this case to you.”

As she speaks, her gaze sweeps over the three section chiefs, with eyes full of respect.

The three nod, looking at her kindly.

Mr. Bai slightly raises his hand, gently moves his fingers, the curve of his mouth just right, and says softly, ”Zhang, go ahead; we’re all listening.”

Zhang Yean responds with a terse and strong ”Yes.”

Immediately, she presses the button in her hand, and the projector screen moves to the second slide.

The second PPT slide is a photograph of the scene.

The photo was taken ten years ago, with resolution certainly incomparable to today.

However.

It’s still vaguely clear that there’s a beauty salon on an old street.

Two red lanterns hang at the entrance of the salon.

In the slightly dim background of the photo, they stand out glaringly.

Zhang Yean raises her right hand, points her index finger straight, and points at the screen, her eyes focused as if trying to see through it.

She says, ”This is the first crime scene photo, located at Sister’s Beauty Salon, No. 4 Lotus Street, West District, Jiangcheng City.”

”After investigation, although it claims to be a ’beauty and hair salon,’ it actually engages in illicit business.”

After a brief introduction, Zhang Yean continues pressing the manual play button.

The projector screen switches to the next slide.

The next image is a photo of the entrance.

Zhang Yean slightly furrows her brows, speaking in a deep voice, ”This is a photo of the first scene we discovered.”

”The photo was taken by our police officers when they arrived at the first scene, likely showing its original appearance.”

”From the photo, one can see the roller shutter was in the closed state.”

”However, the roller shutter was not locked, only pulled down.”

”According to our inquiries, neighboring residents reported that they usually had the habit of closing the door after closing the business.”

Soon, a close-up photo of the door lock key appears on the projector screen.

Zhang Yean continues, ”In this photo, we can see the door lock has no damage at all.”

”At that time, after our scene investigation team opened a route for investigation, we entered the interior and found body number one in the lobby of the beauty salon on the first floor, while body number two was upstairs.”

As she speaks, she switches photos and slightly turns her body to allow the leaders behind her to see more clearly.

”According to the records of the scene investigators, the indoor lights were off.”

”Upon investigating the interior, we found that the only noticeable disturbance on the first floor was the bottom drawer near the bar counter.”

”Moreover, the drawer lock showed signs of being pried open.”

”Since, ten years ago, Chuan City hadn’t yet widely adopted mobile payments, transactions mainly used cash.”

”We didn’t find any remaining cash in that drawer.”

”Of course, we also don’t know the specific amount stolen.”

”Because there were only two victims working in this store.”

Next, the projector screen switches to a photo of the first body.

”The first victim is Yang Xiu, 22, from Chuan City, and has been in Jiangcheng for two years, mainly engaged in this business.”

”When found, she was lying on the ground, face down, with a pool of blood below her.”

Immediately, the projector screen shows a bloody photo, with a large amount of blood near the victim’s head.

Even through the screen, one could almost smell the faint scent of blood.

Then, more detailed photos of this scene appear.

It shows a lot of blood splatter radiating from the victim’s neck.

However, there is another spatter on the floor beside the chair, at some distance from the first.

Zhang Yean pauses and says, ”According to the forensic analysis at the scene, it was determined that the victim’s neck was cut with a sharp weapon, causing the carotid artery to rupture and leading to hemorrhagic shock and death.”

”Moreover, when the carotid artery ruptured, the victim still had clear signs of life, causing a massive outflow of blood from the neck.”

”After the forensic examination of the body, there were no signs of resistance, only a single neck knife wound causing death.”

”Based on the injury distribution, it is inferred that the victim was likely instantly cut to death when contacting the suspect.”

”The death was very swift, the victim should not have had any chance to resist.”

Following this, several more scene photos, mainly centered around the body with benches and a cabinet nearby, are shown.

Zhang Yean scrolls through the photos, slightly bending over.

His finger lightly taps the screen.

”Throughout the interior of the first floor, we extracted 97 footprints during the investigation.”

”Unfortunately, at that time, shoeprint systems were not established, and we couldn’t compare these prints.”

Subsequently, Zhang Yean lets out a helpless sigh, her expression bitter.

He looks at the three section chiefs, smiling wryly, ”You three leaders also know, comparison of footprints does not have uniqueness.”
