The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 406: Chapter 242: An Important Discovery in the Car

Wan swiftly walked towards the police car at the entrance.

After placing the evidence bag in the trunk, he quickly opened the car door, started the engine, shifted the gear, executing the movements seamlessly.

Immediately, the vehicle sped away.

At this moment, his heart surged with emotions.

As a young officer who has fought in the criminal investigation team for five years, he could now interact closely with two highly respected seniors and could clearly feel their high hopes for the Jiangcheng Criminal Investigation Team.

This made him extremely excited.

As a member of the team, his heart was filled with unspeakable joy.

When he first joined, Wan actually wanted to go to the public security department, engaging in work like cracking down on prostitution and gambling.

He wasn’t much concerned about the profession of a criminal police officer, thinking it was merely about watching surveillance and finding suspects.

However, since Jiang An’s arrival, his perception of crime investigation had been completely changed.

From Jiang An, he witnessed what superb criminal investigation skills are, what professional scene investigation is, and what rigorous logical reasoning in criminal investigation means.

Although Jiang An was younger than him, he felt like an ignorant child in front of Jiang An.

Even with a university major in criminal investigation, he still felt the gap was as stark as a blank sheet of paper.

Just now, thanks to the guidance and encouragement of the two seniors, he became more convinced that the path he chose at this moment was incredibly correct.

He was also more determined to move forward on the path of criminal investigation, fighting crime, and safeguarding social stability.

As the vehicle raced on the highway, he silently made up his mind.

If he had the opportunity, he would definitely humble himself and seek to learn criminal investigation knowledge from Jiang An to be able to handle cases independently in the future and devote his efforts to solving cases in Jiangcheng.

Meanwhile.

In the parking lot, the owner fearfully picked up the toolbox.

Though the tools inside were full of paint and stains.

At this moment, the three had no time to worry about that.

Jiang An glanced at the scene investigation toolbox and said, ”Senior sister, please give me a pair of gloves. There’s no water here, so I won’t wash my hands.”

”That idea is quite practical.”

Zhang Yean gladly agreed, hopping around to the toolbox, opening it to take out three pairs of gloves, handing two pairs to each, and wearing one herself.

After putting on the gloves, Li Jian looked around, pondered for a moment, then asked, ”Jiang An, for this professional disassembly process, do we need the owner to lend a hand?”

Soon, Jiang An turned to the parking lot owner and added, ”Although the owner stated the vehicle was parked here.”

”We still don’t know if he has any collusion with the murderer.”

”After all, as someone outside the criminal investigation field, rashly involving him might destroy the scene.”

”In my view, it’s better to do it ourselves.”

Li Jian looked at Jiang An questioningly and asked, ”You do it yourself?”

”Have you disassembled this kind of car before?”

Jiang An shook his head, but his tone was extremely firm.

”Never disassembled!”

”However, I believe to those of us with a science and engineering background, metal structures aren’t too complex.”

After finishing, he bent down to take a wrench from the box, opened the car door, and leaned into the car.

Zhang Yean and Captain Li Jian exchanged a glance, both looking astonished.

Captain Li Jian shook his head and sighed, ”Young people sure have energy.”

He turned to look at the car’s interior.

”However, indeed, this car doesn’t seem too complicated either.”

With that, he quickly walked to the driver’s seat, opened the door, and ducked into the car.

Jiang An gripped the wrench, quickly locating the screws’ set points inside the car, and effortlessly detached the seat from the front passenger side.

Opposite, Captain Li Jian imitated the movements and also soon removed another seat.

But just when Captain Li Jian detached the driver’s seat.

His eyes suddenly brightened: ”Hey, why is there a keychain underneath?”

In an instant, Jiang An’s gaze also shot over.

Even Zhang Yean, standing outside the car, was highly excited: ”What kind of keychain?”

At this moment, within their stares, a bunch of keys could be seen under the driver’s seat.

Moreover, a Nanjiang Garden access card was attached to the keys.

”Senior sister, please photograph this evidence for record.”

Jiang An turned to Zhang Yean and said, his tone barely hiding his excitement.

Zhang Yean looked at the bunch of keys, equally excited.

”If this was left by the culprit, the subsequent investigation could have a lead.”

With a click, the camera captured the scene.

Jiang An leaned down to pick up the keys, examining them carefully.

They showed fine metal friction lines, suggesting they were newly made.

Especially, the entrance tag of Nanjiang Garden was heavily worn.

Jiang An held the keys, looking down at the seat.

”This spot is just the driver’s seat. If the suspect was driving, the keys would likely slip from their pocket to here.”

Captain Li Jian, with years of experience, knew well.

His extensive criminal investigation career had nurtured his excellent logical reasoning skills.

He nodded slightly, saying solemnly, ”Even though the situation seems complex now, from the current clues, it’s reasonably logical for the keys to appear here.”

After exchanging with Captain Li Jian, Jiang An agreed.

The keys were most likely left by the driver.

Next, Jiang An turned to pick up a kraft evidence bag from behind.

”Mr. Jiang, shall we place the evidence inside? What do you think? Should we process it further?”

Jiang An thought for a moment and responded, ”For now, let’s take it back.”

”However, this Nanjiang Garden estate needs a thorough investigation to see if the suspect is hiding there.”

”Exactly!” Captain Li Jian’s eyes were bright, his tone firm.

”Let’s finish up quickly and head to the community to search for the suspect immediately.”
