The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 375: Chapter 226: Investigating the Scene (Part 2)

”Even though the investigation of this case has not taken us long,”

”and the deceased Wang Jianghe’s partner has shown extremely intense grief,”

”from my personal years of experience in criminal investigation,”

”If a relative is found murdered in the wilderness, the family’s first reaction would be to urgently seek the truth,”

”rather than wanting to deal with the matter quickly, to handle it as soon as possible.

”I always feel that there’s something being covered up behind this.”

Upon hearing this, all four people’s eyes simultaneously fell on the empty plates in front of them.

Each of them had turbulent thoughts, pondering whether there was a problem, and, if so, where did it lie?

And how can they discover the root of the problem, then find a way to solve it?

Just then, the proprietress came over carrying a tray of aromatic barbecue, smiling warmly and said, ”Captain Li, your barbecue is here, eat it while it’s hot.”

”If it’s not enough, I’ll get you some more.”

Li Jian quickly turned his head and responded with a smile, ”Thank you, we’ll eat now.”

”If it’s not enough, I’ll call you.”

Just moments ago, everyone felt a slight happiness due to a breakthrough in the case.

But now, their previously happy mood was instantly overshadowed.

When they saw the tray of fragrant barbecue being brought over, none of them showed any appetite.

After a brief silence, Captain Li Jian broke the stalemate, sighed deeply, and said, ”Ah, people need food like iron, let’s eat this meal first.”

”After eating, we’ll find a way to further verify if this woman is a suspect.”

Wan, Zhang Yean, and Jiang An immediately picked up their chopsticks.

Soon, the four of them were picking at the barbecue with little enthusiasm.

Suddenly, Jiang An put down his chopsticks and said, ”Captain Li, I have an idea, but I’m not sure if it’s appropriate.”

Hearing this, Li Jian’s eyes lit up, his intuition telling him that Jiang An’s suggestion was worth a try, and he said eagerly, ”Brother Jiang An, quickly tell us, let’s chat while we eat.”

Then, Jiang An said seriously, ”Captain Li, as of now, I believe we can basically ascertain the identity of the deceased.”

”Of course, we’ll still need to conduct further precise comparisons later.”

”However, what the attire tells us gives us plenty of confidence already.”

”Therefore, the next focus should be on the first crime scene.”

”The first crime scene?”

Li Jian’s hand holding the chopsticks stopped abruptly.

He pressed on, ”Are you suggesting that the place where we found the body is not the first crime scene?”

Jiang An nodded and explained, ”Although the muscles, blood vessels, and nerves of this corpse were missing, only leaving clothes and parts of the skeleton,”

”Through detailed analysis of the skeleton and clothes, I believe the deceased was dragged for a long period before their death, which caused the back of the clothes to roll up.”

”This fully suggests that the place where the death occurred was not there, but the body was moved to this location.”

Li Jian thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.

”I agree with this point, although this evidence is not conclusive, it’s clear there isn’t much else we can analyze at the moment.”

Then, Jiang An continued, ”So I think our next step must be to find the first crime scene where the deceased died.”

”In any prior death case, the first crime scene always contains vast amounts of information.”

At this moment, Zhang Yean also put down her chopsticks and echoed, ”That’s right, I think Junior Brother makes a lot of sense, we really need to visit the deceased’s home.”

Wan also nodded along, ”That’s a good idea indeed.”

Jiang An emphasized again, ”Now that we’ve found Wang Jianghe’s home, I think we must pick up the pace.”

”Get to their home as soon as possible to prevent his wife from further handling the first crime scene, causing more evidence to be lost.”

After listening, Li Jian thought for a moment.

As an experienced criminal investigation captain, his judgment skills are undoubtedly exceptional.

At this moment, connecting all the information he had gathered with Jiang An’s analysis, he realized the importance of determining the location of the first crime scene.

Throughout his criminal investigation career, substantial clues in many cases were found at the first crime scene; it was at the first crime scene where suspects were identified, allowing the reconstruction of the entire death process.

He decisively put down the chopsticks and said, ”Alright, I think what Jiang An said makes a lot of sense.”

”Let’s pack these things back to the office, then head straight to Wang Jianghe’s hometown and conduct a careful investigation at his home.”

He then turned to Wan, ”Wan, let’s go.”

Wan replied helplessly, ”Captain, shouldn’t we wait to eat before heading back?”

”There’s no time, I just heard from Captain Qin that Wang Jianghe’s partner is already heading home.”

”If we can get to the home before she does, we might be able to preserve the original appearance of the crime scene, preventing her from handling it tonight.”

Wan glanced at the steaming barbecue, filled with reluctance.

He grumbled, ”Captain, then let’s pack it up.”

”Who knows when we’ll have another chance to eat here.”

Li Jian smiled and reassured him, ”Don’t worry, next time I’ll treat you personally, and make sure you eat your fill.”

Soon, the four of them packed up the barbecue, quickly returned to the police station, and then drove nonstop to Wang Jianghe’s home.

Along the way, Wan drove fast, almost speeding.

Twenty minutes later, they finally arrived at Wang Jianghe’s doorstep.

Coincidentally, just as the police car stopped, another police car arrived right after.

Captain Li Jian felt full of doubts and muttered to himself, ”Huh, what’s going on?”

”Could it be that Captain Qin and his team have come as well?”

The four of them got out of the car, just as Zhang Congcong from the criminal investigation team opened the car door hurriedly and stepped out.

He quickly said, ”Captain Li, what are you doing here?”

”Reporting, Captain Li, just now Captain Qin mentioned that after questioning Wang Shantao, she had no car, so we arranged to drive her back.”

”Oh, alright, no problem.”

At this moment, Wang Shantao, sitting in the back row, also got out of the car, and seeing the four young people, a hint of confusion flashed in her eyes.

Zhang Congcong quickly introduced, ”This is our criminal investigation captain Li Jian, and these others are colleagues.”

Wang Shantao nodded slightly in acknowledgment with tear stains still on her face.

Li Jian stepped forward and said softly, ”Please accept our condolences. We’re here to handle the case and will definitely find out the truth.”

Wang Shantao choked up, ”Thank you for your trouble.”

”It’s our duty as criminal police.”

Then Li Jian looked at Jiang An, Zhang Yean, and Wan and said hesitantly, ”This case is quite special, we need to investigate the house.”

Upon hearing this, Wang Shantao suddenly raised her head, showing a hint of surprise, ”Didn’t he die on Phoenix Mountain?”

Li Jian replied sternly, ”But who can be certain that was the place where he died?”

Once these words came out, the woman realized it seemed inappropriate and quickly corrected herself, ”It’s okay, you’re welcome to come in. I’ll open the door right away.”

Li Jian turned to Zhang Congcong and said, ”You go back first, we’ll handle things here ourselves.”

Zhang Congcong drove away.

This incident made Li Jian more certain of his inner suspicion.

He turned and instructed, ”When investigating the scene later, everyone must be meticulous, and be careful at the same time.”

He spoke, then dialed the district police station’s number, ”Arrange officers here for duty immediately.”

At this moment, Mr. Liu, who was soundly asleep at home, was awakened by the phone.

Surprised and confused, he asked, ”Does a woman’s home need so many officers?”

”Mr. Liu, this woman is not ordinary, I think we must be cautious.”

”In case there are accomplices nearby, there might be no one to protect these scene investigators’ safety.”

Mr. Liu immediately stood up from the bed and said, ”Captain Li, I understand what you mean.”

”I’ll drive over with people right away.”
