The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 356: Chapter 218: As Expected! Right There! (Part 3)

He whispered, ”Mr. Qin, why do I smell a faint odor of decay?”

Mr. Qin stopped when he heard this, his expression tightened as he nodded slightly and said gravely, ”You’re not the only one who smells it, I do too.”

Saying this, he closed his eyes to carefully identify the source of the smell.

Then, the two of them simultaneously looked in the same direction.

”Let’s go! Let’s take a look!”

Quickly, the two of them moved towards the source of the stench.

And as they got closer, the smell of decay filling their nostrils grew stronger.

The odor was so pungent it was nauseating, but they didn’t flinch.

Five minutes later, the two of them stopped at a small hill.

The young officer, with excellent eyesight, quickly squatted down, eyes wide open, examining carefully, then turned his head and said nervously and excitedly, ”Mr. Qin, there’s really a person down there.”

Mr. Qin fixed his gaze for a moment before quickly taking out his phone, his fingers trembling slightly as he dialed Li Jian’s number.

His voice was somewhat hoarse from nervousness: ”Hello, Mr. Li, the body is over here, we’ve found it.”

Upon hearing this, Li Jian swiftly turned around, his gaze eagerly scanning the surroundings.

Sure enough, he saw two people in the distance on the hill to his right, waving at him.

He shouted, ”Got it, I’m coming right over.”

Fifteen minutes later, the hill was crowded with members of the crime investigation team, each with a solemn expression, as if shrouded by a thick haze.

Within sight, there was a dense thicket of shrubs, and if not carefully observed, it was hard to notice the tattered clothes under the shrubs.

After observing for a while, Li Jian turned his head, looking firmly at his team members, loudly saying, ”Brothers, we have another case. This barbecue is over.”

”However, I think it’s precisely because of this barbecue that led us to discover this body. If it weren’t for that bone, it would’ve been hard to find this body.”

Then, Li Jian glanced at Jiang An, his eyes filled with gratitude and trust: ”You really guessed right. Let’s start with the scene investigation.”

Jiang An nodded firmly, his expression serious.

Wan glanced down the valley, remarked emotionally, ”This time we are not only investigators and detectives but also discoverers ourselves.”

”I guess we don’t need to call the police now?”

Li Jian shook his head slightly, ”We don’t need to report it today, but we must transfer it to the local police station.”

”Additionally, Xiaolan, go back immediately, bring all the scene investigation equipment, and we will conduct a thorough investigation here immediately.”

”Yes.”

Everyone agreed in unison, and instantly everyone sprang into action.

Forty minutes later, the thicket below the hill was cordoned off with a large police tape.

The yellow tape fluttered in the wind as if warning people that something unusual had occurred here.

Director Liu Lin of the Phoenix Mountain Police Station hurried over.

Seeing Li Jian, he quickly said, ”Mr. Li, you came to our district for a team-building event, let us offer our hospitality.”

Li Jian gave a bitter smile, pointing to the valley below, helplessly saying, ”Hospitality? Luckily, we didn’t ask you for hospitality, otherwise, we wouldn’t have discovered this body and left someone exposed in the wilderness.”

Liu Lin’s mouth twitched, he turned to look at the valley below, and with a wry smile said, ”Oh, I didn’t expect this.”

”I never thought something like this would happen in our district, usually, the people here are very simple and honest.”

Li Jian raised his hand to pat him on the shoulder, comforting him, ”I don’t mean to blame you, it’s just very surprising to find a body in this place.”

”Of course, you don’t have to blame yourself too much either.”

”The killer might not be from your district, and the deceased might not be from your district either. It’s entirely possible that the body was dumped here from somewhere else.”

Upon hearing this, Liu Lin quickly wiped the sweat off his forehead, gratefully saying, ”Thank you, Mr. Li, for your understanding.”

”Whether the deceased is from our district or not, and whether the killer is from our district or not, we will definitely uphold justice, protect fairness, combat crime, and strive to solve this case as soon as possible.”

Captain Li Jian nodded slightly, ”Our crime investigation team is conducting a scene investigation here, please go back and check if there are any missing person reports in your district.”

”Once we’re done here, we’ll meet at your station, is that alright?”

Liu Lin quickly nodded, ”No problem, I’ll get on it right away.”
