The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 366: Chapter 222: No Toxins in the Soil?

Less than ten minutes later, Mr. Li, like a timely rain, handed over a list.

”Mr. Qin, here are all the police reports in Jiangcheng over the past three weeks, a total of 42 missing persons reports. Among them, there are 15 elderly, 13 middle-aged, and 14 children.”

Mr. Qin took a few sips of tea, sobering up significantly.

He took the list, quickly glanced over it, and asked, ”With so many reports, what is the follow-up situation?”

Mr. Li shook his head helplessly, like a bystander unable to change the outcome, explaining, ”Our 110 command center is only responsible for receiving public reports and forwarding them to the district police stations for verification. We don’t know about the specific follow-up progress, nor are we able to grasp it.”

Mr. Qin nodded slightly and sincerely said, ”Understood, Mr. Li, thank you.”

”We will conduct an investigation according to this list to see if we can find the relevant personnel.”

Mr. Li nodded slightly and speculated, ”Generally speaking, most missing persons can be found quickly.”

”However, some may end up as unidentified bodies. You came to investigate unidentified bodies, didn’t you?”

Mr. Qin nodded again.

”That’s right, we came for this case today.”

Mr. Li sighed slightly and commented, ”I guess it’s another elderly person.”

”Nowadays, there are many people with dementia, many can’t find their way home after getting lost and end up sleeping in the wild.”

Mr. Qin picked up the list, corrected with a solemn expression, ”It’s not an elderly person this time, it’s a middle-aged man.”

”A middle-aged man?”

Mr. Li was shocked, as if witnessing something incredible, blurting out, ”A middle-aged man got lost? Is there a mental issue?”

Mr. Qin shook his head, speaking steadily, ”Not sure about the mental state, but physically he might not be well.”

After speaking, Mr. Qin and his team left the command center.

Meanwhile, at Jiangcheng People’s Hospital, the woman with glasses handed over a thick stack of documents.

”Officer, hello, these are the medical records of cancer patients received in our hospital over the past six months, a total of 110 files, all here.”

Mr. Fu reached out, took the medical records, ”Whoa! So many?”

The woman at the counter smiled and reminded, ”Officer, please scan the code to pay for the copying fee; we do charge here.”

Mr. Fu looked at the mountain of documents, feeling a pang in his heart, secretly regretting.

If I had known copying would cost money, I wouldn’t have copied everything at once, just one page per person would do.

Now, there goes a few packs of cigarettes’ money.

At that moment, Xiao Jiang, standing behind, pulled out his phone to scan and pay.

Seeing this, Mr. Fu quickly stopped him, ”No, there’s no need. I’ll do it.”

”You young folks need money for dating and marrying, I’ll just smoke a couple fewer packs.”

Soon, Mr. Fu’s phone showed a payment of 97 yuan. After entering the password to complete the payment, he politely said to the staff, ”Thank you, ma’am, we’ll take these documents.”

With the heavy stack of documents back in the car, Xiao Jiang asked, ”Mr. Fu, are we going to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital next?”

Mr. Fu nodded in response, ”Yes, but at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, let’s not copy so much, just one page per patient, a simple investigation is enough.”

Meanwhile, Captain Li Jian had just come out of Mr. Ma’s office.

The continuous cases were wearing him out.

He thought of having a couple of beers, some barbecue, and then going home for a good night’s sleep and some rest.

Unexpectedly, cases came like clockwork.

At this moment, he felt a sense of daze, almost dizzy, but still forced himself to stay alert and stride towards the forensic laboratory.
