Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1029: Chapter 1029: This is Simply Ridiculous

”You’re really shattering trust in doing business!”

”Cheating people.”

”How is this cheating people?” An Hao glared at him and said, ”This is downright deceptive.”

”Who are you calling deceptive? Can’t you speak properly? Apologize to me! I’ll be damned if I pay you if you pressure me like this!” Wang Baipi yelled angrily.

”You never planned to pay us anyway!” Jin Shan snapped, ”We’ve toiled all year growing vegetables, just for you to gobble them up for free? You must pay today. If you don’t, we’ll beat you to a pulp, believe it or not?”

”Look at you acting all tough!” Wang Baipi wasn’t someone to mess with either, ”We don’t even have a contract, just a verbal agreement, and no one heard it, so it doesn’t count. You still want to hit me? I’ll call security right now to drag you out!”

”Look at this tough guy over here! We’re ready to lose all our money just to land you in the hospital! Consider it your medical expenses,” as soon as Jin Shan spoke, the five farmers at the scene rolled up their sleeves, ready to throw down.

”You dare hit me! If you land me a blow, I’ll land each of you in prison, bankrupting you! Still dreaming of making money? Dream on!” Wang Baipi stiffened his neck, standing his ground.

He knew very well where their weaknesses lay!

That’s why he was so brazen.

When everyone heard this, those who wanted to take action hesitated.

Everyone had families to support, and they were all here to make money.

Nobody wanted to end up losing money instead of making it!

Not to mention becoming bankrupt, their life savings were all tied up in these greenhouse vegetables, truly an unbearable loss.

Seeing that the money couldn’t be retrieved, each of them could only accept their bad luck.

Wang Baipi looked at the quiet crowd, feeling pleased with himself!

He had a hundred ways to deal with them.

An Hao couldn’t stand the sight of Wang Baipi, always bullying honest folks.

People like him should never be cooperated with!

So, An Hao slammed the table and said to Wang Baipi, ”Fine. We don’t want the money! But let me make this clear, from now on, the farmers around here will sign an agreement to boycott you! Consider the previous vegetables as given to you for free, like feeding a dog! Don’t you ever dream of eating our vegetables again!”

As soon as An Hao said this, everyone felt a great sense of relief.

”Count me in; I’ll sign the agreement!”

”I’m signing too!”

”Yes! Everyone in the villages who grows vegetables, let’s spread the word! Let this bastard starve! No one should sell him vegetables! Let him buy those expensive city vegetables.”

”You all are rebelling, one by one!” Wang Baipi wasn’t scared at all now, he didn’t believe that when he offered the money later, no one would sell him vegetables, ”Go on, sign away! Like I’m scared of you folks?”

So, the farmers signed the agreement right there and then, each of them sworn to boycott Wang Baipi.

Since they didn’t get the money, everyone eventually dispersed.

On the way back, An Ping couldn’t stop cursing Wang Baipi: ”He’s really scum! His conscience must have been eaten by a dog! Such people deserve to be reborn as pigs in their next life, just to be butchered at New Year and have everyone feast on his flesh!”

”Right! Now you see the importance of a contract?” An Hao said.

”Sigh! I thought the police would handle it that time!”

”How would they handle this? That boss Wang never said he wouldn’t pay you, just claimed he would in front of the police! You had no way to catch him!”

”Isn’t that the truth? Sister, are we just going to let this go?” An Ping couldn’t accept it.

That was five thousand dollars! It wasn’t a small amount!
